Prince Andrew says Harry ‘acted hastily' in marrying Meghan leading to alleged ‘punch up'

Sky News AU2 days ago
News Corp Columnist Angela Mollard discusses allegations of Prince Harry giving Prince Andrew a bloody nose during an argument.
Revelations in a new book called 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York' claim there was a physical altercation between the uncle and nephew, over something Prince Andrew said behind Prince Harry's back.
'It's not within the realms of possibility that Harry had a punch-up with Andrew and the notion that the two most problematic members of the Royal Family could be … in this realm,' Ms Mollard told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.
'There's also the claim that Andrew warned Harry that he hadn't done his due diligence on Meghan Markle and that he had acted hastily in marrying her.'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could come face to face with Prince William and Princess Catherine at Phillips wedding

An upcoming royal wedding could see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle come face to face with Prince William and Princess Catherine for the first time since 2022. Both the Wales' and Sussexes are tipped to attend the upcoming wedding of William and Harry's first cousin Peter Phillips. Princess Anne's only son is set to marry for the second time to Harriet Sperling, a nurse working for the UK's National Health Service (NHS). Phillips was previously married to Canadian-born Autumn Kelly from 2008 until 2021, with whom he shares two children. The happy couple announced their engagement last week, but a date has yet to be officially set for the royal wedding. "Mr Peter Phillips, the son of HRH The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, and Ms Harriet Sperling, daughter of the late Mr Rupert Sanders and Mrs Mary Sanders of Gloucestershire, have today confirmed their official engagement,' the couple said in a statement. Reportedly, Phillips is eyeing a date in the English springtime in the first half of 2026, meaning the Sussex and Wales clans could all meet within months. The warring brothers were most recently in the same place for the funeral service of their Spencer uncle Robert Fellowes in August 2024. However, the Duchess of Sussex has not visited the United Kingdom since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022. On that occasion, both the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex completed a joint walkabout to meet mourners, with Meghan and Kate noticeably separated by their husbands. It was later claimed that Catherine confided in another royal that completing the walkabout with Markle was 'one of the hardest things' she has ever done. Markle skipped the historic coronation of her father-in-law in 2023 and has not accompanied Harry on other recent visits to the English capital, possibly over security concerns.

‘It would raise questions': Palace allegedly buried Meghan Markle ‘bullying' report to protect Prince Andrew

An investigation into allegations Meghan Markle 'bullied' courtiers was buried by palace staff to protect Prince Andrew, an insider has claimed. Markle, 44, has faced unsubstantiated claims of alleged unprofessionalism and rapid staff turnover dating back to her brief stint as a working royal. Meghan moved into the grounds of Kensington Palace ahead of her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017 and lived in several royal residences before the Sussexes left for California in 2020. Buckingham Palace launched an investigation in March 2021 following historical allegations that Markle had driven out two personal assistants and that staff had been "humiliated" on several occasions during her time living in Kensington Palace. However, the report on that investigation never saw the light of day - even though allegations about the Duchess of Sussex's staff treatment have continued to dog the former working royal. Ironically, the bullying allegations emerged just days before the Oprah sit-down, in which Meghan herself said she was bullied by the Palace and that her sister-in-law Princess Catherine made her cry. According to royal author Andrew Lownie, the Markle report was never released because of fears it would open a pandora's box about Prince Andrew's behaviour towards staff. 'Some say a report on bullying accusations against Meghan Markle has never been released because it would also raise questions about the behaviour of the Queen's second son,' Mr Lownie wrote in a new biography on the Yorks. According to Mr Lownie, Markle's antics were nothing compared to Prince Andrew's alleged mistreatment of staff, which ranged from terror-inducing to bizarre. One former aide to Andrew was allegedly reduced to tears after being "bawled at" in a phone call before dawn because Andrew was unhappy with a story in the Sun newspaper. A member of staff was allegedly moved to other duties because Andrew 'disliked a mole on the man's face', and another moved 'because the man was wearing a nylon tie'. The new Lownie book shines a harsh spotlight on both Andrew's public and private life as well as that of his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. 'There's a lot that's going to shock people, I've spoken to about 100 people who have never spoken before,' Mr Lownie told earlier this year. The respected royal author characterised the Yorks as 'role-less' and preoccupied with maintaining the 'high life' through wealthy friends and shadowy acquaintances, mostly from the Middle East and Central Asia. 'They're both role-less, except in terms of they like making money and living the high life, I suppose that gives them a purpose,' he said. Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York will be published by HarperCollins on 14 August 2025.

Prince Harry clear of racism allegations by former Sentebale chair Dr Sophie Chandauka by charity commission

Prince Harry has walked away from his signature Sentebale charity after being cleared of bullying and racism allegations following a dispute with the charity's chair. Founded in 2006, Sentebale was created by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho to help children and adolescents struggling to come to terms with their HIV status, a cause championed by Harry's late mother Princess Diana. However, Harry, 40, issued a statement in April announcing he'd resigned from the role as the charity's patron "until further notice" amid alleged internal tensions with Sentebale chair Dr Sophie Chandauka. Dr Chandauka publicly accused the Duke of Sussex of 'harassment and bullying at scale' in a bombshell interview with Sky News UK, claims the ex-working royal has denied. Dr Chandauka also publicly accused the Sussex camp of 'misogyny and misogynoir (discrimination against black women)' against her and covering up her concerns. The dispute spilled over into a months-long inquiry by the UK-based Charity Commission to investigate Dr Chandauka's claims. On Tuesday, the commission "found no evidence of widespread or systemic bullying or harassment, including misogyny or misogynoir at the charity". However, the commission "criticised all parties to the dispute for allowing it to play out publicly", saying it had "severely impacted the charity's reputation". The commission added there was "a lack of clarity in delegations" and this led to "mismanagement in the administration of the charity". The Charity Commission also issued Sentebale with a plan to "address governance weaknesses". The findings mark the sad demise of one of Harry's proudest achievements - one that turned into alarming publicity headache for the Sussexes. While the Duke of Sussex's wife Meghan Markle was not directly involved in the dispute, Dr Chandauka accused the Duchess of showing up at a charity event last minute with Netflix cameras. Dr Chandauka claimed the disorganisation directly resulted in an infamous viral awkward moment between her and Harry's wife Meghan. In a TikTok clip from April 2024, Markle appeared to instruct Dr Chandauka not to stand next to her husband Prince Harry during the trophy presentation ceremony after the match. 'So do you want to come over here?' Meghan can be heard asking, seemingly gesturing Dr Chandauka away from Harry.
