India U-19 lose by 7 wickets to England U-19, but win series 3-2

The Indian U-19 team failed to finish on a high, going down by seven wickets to England U-19 in the inconsequential fifth Youth ODI here on Monday. India had taken an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series after registering a 55-run victory in the fourth game on Saturday. Opting to bat, India produced a below-par batting effort to conjure just 210 for 9, which the the hosts chased down with consummate ease with 113 balls to spare. India endured a disastrous start, losing skipper Ayush Mhatre (1) and Vihaan Malhotra (1) inside three overs with the scoreboard reading 9. Teen sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi (33 off 42) could not produce his attacking prowess but stitched vital 51 runs with Rahul Kumar (21) to stabilise the innings. Just when the partnership was flourishing Suryavanshi departed, handing a catch to Alex Green off the bowling of Sebastian Morgan. He struck three fours and two sixes during his brief stay. Rahul Kumar too didn't last long, handing a catch to BJ Dawkins off the bowing of Green. Wickets continued to tumble for India as wicketkeeper Harvnash Pangalia (24), Kanishk Chauhan (24) and Deepesh Devendran (0) were dismissed in quick succession. RS Ambrish turned out to be the lone bright spot in India's batting department as he held one end up with a gritty 66 off 81 balls with the help of six boundaries. The English bowlers got the better of the Indian batting as they restricted the visitors to a below-par total. Chasing the paltry score, England rode on Ben Mayes' unbeaten 82, BJ Dawkins' 66 and skipper Thomas Rew's unbeaten 37-ball 49 to overhaul the target easily. Mayes struck 11 boundaries and one six during his 76-ball knock, while Dawkins hit nine fours and three hits over the fence in his 53-ball stay. Skipper Rew was not to be left behind as he too scored quickly, piling up his runs with the help of seven fours and one six. For India, leg-spinner Naman Pushpak picked up two wickets for 65 runs, while Deepesh Devendran scalped one giving away 34 of his seven overs.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) The post comes just days after Salman unveiled the motion poster of Battle of Galwan, his much-anticipated patriotic drama. The motion poster, which features him in an intense avatar, has already garnered massive appreciation online. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the next announcement from the film. According to a report in Bollywood Bubble, Battle of Galwan will go on floors this August. A source revealed that the film's first schedule will be shot in Ladakh, followed by Mumbai and Kashmir. Battle of Galwan is based on the real-life clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley in June 2020. The confrontation, fought without firearms due to existing bilateral agreements, was one of the deadliest border stand-offs in over four decades. Indian soldiers, despite being outnumbered and under-equipped, stood their ground with nothing but sheer grit and improvised weapons. The film, set over 15,000 feet above sea level, aims to capture the bravery, strategy, and endurance of the Indian Army in brutally inhospitable terrain. Meanwhile, Salman Khan has several big-ticket projects lined up. Sequels to Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, and Andaz Apna Apna are all reportedly in development. Rumours also suggest he may reunite with Sanjay Dutt for an action-packed film titled Ganga Ram and collaborate once more with Sooraj Barjatya for a family drama. First Published:

After Kareena Kapoor slams Prada, Neena Gupta makes a video to... for copying Kolhapuri chappal design

After Kareena Kapoor, veteran actress Neena Gupta took to social media to call out luxury brand Prada for allegedly copying the traditional Kolhapuri chappal design. It's a traditional footwear from Kolhapur, a city in Maharashtra. Taking to Instagram, the actress posted a video where she flaunted a handmade pair of Kolhapuris gifted to her by the late Laxmikant Berde. How did Neena Gupta mock the Prada brand? In the clip, Gupta could be heard saying, 'So, these Kolhapur slippers are in great demand these days. So, once I did something with Laxmikant Berde. I don't remember what it was. So, I asked him, can you get me these slippers from Kolhapur? He said, yes. So, he got them for me. This is the most beautiful slippers I have ever had. Most beautiful and handmade. I love them. Thank you Laxmikant. You are not there anymore, but love you.' She simply captioned the video, 'Real is real.' In the clip, Neena Gupta is seen walking while wearing Kolhapuri chappals. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Neena Gupta (@neena_gupta) What did Kareena Kapoor Khan do with her Kolhapuri chappals? On July 6, Kareena Kapoor took to social media to call out luxury fashion brand Prada. She shared a photo of herself wearing her original Kolhapuri chappals, subtly taking a dig at the brand. Posting the image on her Instagram Stories, Bebo flaunted the footwear and captioned it, 'Sorry not Prada…but my OG Kolhapuri.' Prada recently faced backlash for showcasing a pair of sandals that looked very similar to India's traditional Kolhapuri chappals without giving proper credit to their Indian origin. The luxury brand introduced the sandals as 'Toe Ring Sandals' during their Men's Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show in Milan on June 22. Many noticed that the design was almost identical to Kolhapuri chappals, but Prada presented it under its own label without clearly acknowledging the Indian roots of the design. Following this, a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Bombay High Court. The petition demanded compensation for the Indian artisans who make Kolhapuri chappals, claiming their designs were copied without recognition.
