Tottenham 3-1 Bodo/Glimt - the fans' verdict
We asked for your thoughts on Tottenham's Europa League semi-final first leg against Bodo/Glimt.Here are some of your comments:Johnny: There was a real intent about Spurs. You never know which Spurs team will show up at kick off. Tonight, it was a team that wanted to fight for a place in a final.Mark: Great performance tonight. The early goal settled the nerves and it was looking all over but that late goal keeps it interesting for the second leg. I would have preferred uninteresting to be honest.Anton: So many on here have been losing the faith and still want Ange out even if he wins a trophy. In hindsight, he should've said it's a five year plan. Change the playing style, lower the squad age and win a trophy. He'd then be way ahead of schedule in two of those and we are still in a cup - a good one.Robert: A good performance, but that late goal puts a different complexion on the tie. We lost momentum when Maddison and Solanke went off. It will be tough on their plastic pitch. Just hope the two goal lead will be enough.William: A disappointing finish, but solid enough performance overall and a result that we would have taken beforehand. Although Bodo/Glimt have a great home record, if we can put in a defensive performance like we did at Frankfurt, then we should get chances going forward and be able to make the final.

Ange Postecoglou 'is lined up by top Saudi Arabia side' - just a week after brutal Tottenham sacking
Ange Postecoglou could be set for a swift return to the dugout, according to reports The 59-year-old Australian was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last week, 16 days after he led the club to their first silverware since 2008. Victory in Bilbao served as a glorious conclusion to what had been an otherwise disastrous campaign for the north London club. In a season in which his squad was ravaged by slew of injuries, further compounded by a congested fixture list, Spurs suffered 22 league defeats, a club record in a 38-game season. Postecoglou could now head to the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Ahli eyeing him for the managerial role, according to the Telegraph. He is being lined up as a potential successor to Matthias Jaissle, whose future at the club remains uncertain despite guiding them to the AFC Champions League title last month. Jaissle, 37, has attracted interest from Europe after leading a team packed with stars - including Ivan Toney, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez and Edouard Mendy - to continental glory against Kawasaki Frontale. Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and several Premier League clubs are understood to be tracking him. A move to Saudi Arabia would see Postecoglou return to Asia having previously won the J1 League with Yokohama F. Marinos. Following his Tottenham exit, Postecoglou himself released a parting statement, reflecting on his two years at the club with pride. The statement read: 'When I reflect on my time as Manager of Tottenham Hotspur my overriding emotion is one of pride. 'The opportunity to lead one of England's historic football clubs and bring back the glory it deserves will live with me for a lifetime. Sharing that experience with all those who truly love this club and seeing the impact it had on them is something I will never forget. 'That night in Bilbao was the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication and unwavering belief in a dream. There were many challenges to overcome and plenty of noise that comes with trying to accomplish what many said was not possible. 'We have also laid foundations that mean this club should not have to wait 17 more years for their next success. I have enormous faith in this group of players and know there is much more potential and growth in them. 'I sincerely want to thank those who are the lifeblood of the club, the supporters. I know there were some difficult times but I always felt that they wanted me to succeed and that gave me all the motivation I needed to push on. 'It's important to acknowledge the hard working people at Spurs who gave me encouragement on a daily basis. 'And finally, I want to thank those who were with me every day for the last two years. A fantastic group of young men who are now legends of this football club and the brilliant coaches who never once doubted we could do something special.

Bryan Mbeumo makes decision over Manchester United transfer after £70m Spurs bid
Bryan Mbeumo still prefers a transfer to Manchester United after Tottenham launched a £70 million offer for the Brentford forward, according to reports. United are intent on strengthening Ruben Amorim's attacking options ahead of the new season and completed their £62.5 million deal to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves this week. A new striker is also on United's wanted list for the summer window and they have already been dealt a blow this month as Liam Delap turned down a £30m move to Old Trafford in favour of joining Chelsea. United have also been in advanced talks to sign Mbeumo but so far they have been unable to reach an agreement with Brentford over a fee for the Cameroon international. The Mirror are now reporting that Spurs have entered the running to sign Mbeumo following Thomas Frank's arrival at the north London club this week and a £70m bid worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons has been submitted to Brentford. Spurs could also have an advantage with Frank having worked extensively alongside Mbeumo at Brentford for the past six seasons. More Trending But Sky Sports report that Mbeumo would still prefer a move to United having already given an indication at the start of this month that Old Trafford is his first-choice destination. The report adds that Tottenham are not completely out of the running with Mbeumo 'more intrigued' by a move to Spurs after their decision to replace Ange Postecoglou with Frank. It's understood that Brentford have been holding out for at least £60m for the 25-year-old, who scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season. Spurs, meanwhile, are considering a move for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo as an alternative option to Mbeumo. For more stories like this, check our sport page.
