Fire at caravan park in Welsh seaside town
Emergency services were called to an incident at a caravan park near Porthcawl on Saturday afternoon. Locals reported seeing black smoke from Happy Valley Caravan Park, after hearing a loud bang.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called to an incident at a caravan park just after 1pm on Saturday, March 1. Four fire engines attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed that they also attended the incident, but were unable to provide further information. Police officers were also on scene.

Photos from Newton Beach show black smoke pluming from the area of Happy Valley Caravan Park. Locals also reported seeing an air ambulance circle overhead.

Man taken to hospital after being hit by a car in crash that shut road for 12 hours
A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Aberbargoed in a collision which left a road closed for 12 hours. Gwent Police were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Commercial Street, Aberbargoed at 5.30pm on Wednesday (May 28). Officers attended, along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. A 34-year-old man, the pedestrian, was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening. A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision in Commercial Street, Aberbargoed at around 5.30pm on Wednesday 28 May. "Officers attended, along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service. "The collision involved a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 34-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment." Fire ripped through roof of house so fiercely it forced road closure
A fire ripped through the roof of a house so quickly it forced the closure of a major road in both directions. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a house fire in the Trethomas area of Caerphilly. Whilst crews tackled the fire, Gwent Police closed the A468, Newport Road between Machen and Caerphilly. Diversions were put in place along the A468 as traffic moved slowly in the area for hours as emergency services dealt with the fire. A spokesperson for SWFRS said: "SWFRS received a call at approximately 1.30pm to reports of a domestic fire in Trethomas, Caerphilly. Crews and appliances from Caerphilly, Duffryn and Maindee attended the scene of a two-story semi-detached property. Crews tackled the fire using 6 breathing apparatus, one main jet, two hose reel jets, two safety jets and one covering jet. Stop message was received around 4.42pm."
