Government College University Faisalabad, in collaboration with the Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences Pakistan, successfully organized the 5th International Students Convention & Expo 2025.
This event was aimed to foster academic collaboration, cultural exchange and youth leadership development globally.
The convention served as a platform to showcase Pakistan's academic and research potential, strengthening international collaborations.
Vice Chancellor Dr Rauf-I-Azam emphasised the convention's role in nurturing youth talent, facilitating global discussions.

Security forces eliminate 14 militants in North Waziristan operation: ISPR
Listen to article At least 14 militants allegedly affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij, a group identified as an Indian proxy, were killed in intellegence-based operations in North Waziristan between June 2 and 3, it emerged on Wednesday. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted operations in Dhatta Khel area of North Waziristan. "After a fierce exchange of fire, 14 militants affiliated with the Indian-sponsored group were neutralized." Sanitization operations are ongoing in the area to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats, said the military's media wing. "Pakistan's armed forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate Indian-sponsored terrorism and restore lasting peace across the country," the statement added. 'We will crush the nefarious designs of these terrorists,' Shehbaz said in a statement issued by his office. 'With the professional capability of our security forces, we will uproot the monster of terrorism once and for all.' A similar operation was conducted earlier this week whereby seven terrorists allegedly affiliated with the India-backed group Fitna al-Hindustan were killed in two separate operations in Balochistan on June 2, 2025. According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, the move stems from 'the involvement of some organizations and groups in terrorist activities in Balochistan, which are detrimental to Islamic faith, the sovereignty of Pakistan, and its customary traditions'. The notification further stated that the new designation is intended to reflect 'the true nature and ideology' of these groups and their 'nefarious designs' sponsored by India. 'All government entities are directed to start the above practice immediately,' the notification said, underscoring a concerted effort to reframe the narrative around insurgent violence in the province. The announcement came after Islamabad accused India of escalating indirect aggression after what he described as its defeat in a recent security operation dubbed "Marka-e-Haq'.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Sunday jointly addressed a Grand Jirga of tribal elders in Quetta, reaffirming the state's unwavering resolve to defeat terrorism and counter foreign-sponsored subversion. 'Our message to the enemies of peace is clear: the government, armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and administrative apparatus, with full support of the Pakistani nation, will defeat terrorism in all its forms,' the prime minister stated. Addressing the gathering, Field Marshal Munir vowed to crush every element threatening Pakistan's sovereignty. 'We have concrete proof of India's hand in supporting terrorist networks in Balochistan. These nefarious efforts will be defeated by the Pakistan Army with the full support of the nation and the brave people of Balochistan,' he said.

Forces eliminate 7 Fitna al Hindustan terrorists
ISLAMABAD: Security forces eliminated seven terrorists affiliated with the Indian-sponsored group Fitna al Hindustan in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Balochistan on June 2, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The first operation took place in the Mach area of Kachhi District, where security forces engaged with terrorists based on credible intelligence. Following an intense exchange of fire, five militants were killed. In a second operation in the Margand area of Kalat District, a terrorist hideout was successfully targeted, resulting in the killing of two more terrorists from the same group. ISPR stated that the slain terrorists were involved in multiple acts of terrorism and that a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from their possession. The military's media wing reiterated Pakistan's firm resolve to root out terrorism, particularly those sponsored by foreign elements. 'Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country,' the statement said, adding that all perpetrators and their facilitators will be brought to justice.
