Brighton has 4 players missing for Liverpool game but others could return
Brighton will welcome key defender Lewis Dunk back from injury for Monday's game against Liverpool. Dunk missed Brighton's game against Wolves last weekend due to a hamstring problem but has been passed fit to return for Fabian Hurzeler's side.
Joao Pedro, the Brighton striker who has been linked with a possible summer move to Liverpool, is also set to return after serving a three-match suspension, while Kaoru Mitoma is in contention to feature after a four-game lay-off caused by heel and back issues.
In another boost for the Seagulls, Joel Veltman is also available for selection. Liverpool, meanwhile, could have a full roster to choose from, with Joe Gomez in contention to return after several months on the sidelines.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler was positive as he spoke in his pre-game press conference. He said: 'Lewis is back in the squad. Joel will be back in the squad. It's all very positive news. Kaoru had some minor issues, so hopefully he will be a possibility for us in the squad. Overall, it's very positive and we have more options.'
Despite all that good news, Brighton remains without four other players, with James Milner, Georginio Rutter, Solly March and Ferdi Kadioglu all still sidelined.
"Georginio Rutter is also very close, so hopefully he'll be back with the team next week [ahead of the final game of the season]," Hurzeler added. "There's a small chance, like I said from the beginning, that he can be an option for the end of the season, for the last game.
"James (Milner) is doing rehab on the pitch, so he's getting closer. I'm not sure if we will see him this season, but it's a nice process what he's going through now."
While Brighton is chasing an eighth-placed finish that could secure a place in the Europa Conference League next season, Liverpool is merely playing out its remaining games of the campaign after wrapping up the league title in April.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was asked in a press conference on Friday if it was difficult to motivate his players for the final weeks of the season, considering the team effectively has nothing to play for.
"The honest answer is yes, it's clear to everyone," Slot said. "If we were still competing for the Premier League, there would have been a few days off as well, but we would have gone somewhere else.
"I don't think we're the only team that gives players a few extra days off when you play on Sunday and then don't play again until the following Monday. The honest answer is there is a difference [in motivation] but if I look at the way we played against Arsenal, I saw a team that wanted to compete against Arsenal from the first second until the last.
"Even when we were having some problems in the second half, we were able to come back into the game so it shows you the mentality is very good
"It doesn't matter if you've won the league — if you play Chelsea, Arsenal and Brighton, these are difficult games to play. That's why I was also so happy that we were already enough points clear to clinch the title against Tottenham."

Liverpool can FINALLY sign their new Mo Salah
Nunez struggles to live up to price tag Nunez looks destined to leave this summer having failed to live up to his billing as the most expensive signing in the club's history - prior to the Wirtz deal. The 26-year-old will depart with just 40 goals to his name in 143 games and only netted five in the league last term. Advertisement He was the landmark Liverpool arrival in the 2022 summer window - signed for a fee of up to £85m from Benfica - but hasn't matched the output of the other two Premier League superstar strikers signed during that time. Erling Haaland for example has scored 123 goals in the same timeframe for Manchester City. Alexander Isak, meanwhile, has scored 62 in just 109 outings for Newcastle. While Haaland might have always looked destined for City, Liverpool did in fact have the option of adding Isak back in 2022. Klopp preferred Nunez over Isak That's according to Ian Graham, the Reds' former director of research. Having previously convinced Jurgen Klopp to sign Mohamed Salah instead of Julian Brandt, Graham's team can be said to have had a transformative effect on the club's fortunes. Advertisement But Graham lost the battle to Klopp in 2022 over Isak. The German manager was enamoured with Nunez and pushed to sign the Uruguayan instead. 'Jürgen created a lot of success for the club, so it's understandable why it moved in that direction,' Graham told the Financial Times. 'I'm happy to talk about my colleagues persuading Jürgen [in 2017] that Mo Salah was the player to buy instead of Julian Brandt. 'In 2022, he signed Darwin Núñez [for £70mn plus add-ons] instead of Alexander Isak. 'Both players, if you look at top young centre-forwards in Europe, they would be number one and two — or two and three but [Erling] Haaland was going to [Manchester] City and out of our price range. Advertisement 'Jürgen preferred Núñez.' © IMAGO - Darwin Nunez Liverpool Anfield 2024-25 Isak going from strength to strength Newcastle finished ahead of Liverpool that season with the Reds finishing down in fifth - blowing a £100m hole in the budget that's taken a long time to correct. And while Nunez's stock has plummeted - with Liverpool seeking to offload him in a cut-price deal - Isak has gone from strength to strength. The Sweden international is the hottest property in this summer's transfer market and could be leaving Newcastle for a fee of over £100m. That's not a bad return for Newcastle on the £63m they paid Real Sociedad. © IMAGO Isak to Liverpool could change everything Liverpool have already put the groundwork in on this deal - according to Graham - and now have the chance to rectify Klopp's major transfer error. They will have to pay a lot more money - and a lot more in wages - than they would have done in 2022. Advertisement But now they know they'll be signing a proven Premier League striker who is now in the world-class bracket. It's no exaggeration to say this one transfer fix could change everything. Isak was supposed to be the next Firmino; the next Salah. The recruitment team did their work and hand-delivered Klopp the ideal frontman on a plate. He turned elsewhere however and the Reds suffered. Now is the time to right that wrong. Nunez out, Isak in is the transfer that MUST happen this summer.

Liverpool line up £70m COLOSSUS to replace Ibrahima Konate
Liverpool looking at Guehi and Branthwaite The imminent loss of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen in a £30m deal already leaves the club light on numbers - necessitating a new signing sooner rather than later. Advertisement While Marc Guehi has been the player most strongly linked, there is another defender closer to home who fits the bill. The Reds reportedly have their eye on centre-backs aged 24 or under - and given they are losing Quansah - one with homegrown status would help. That's why Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite is so intriguing. Moving from the Bramley Moore Dock Stadium to Anfield wouldn't be without its controversy - but surely a sizeable bid from the Reds would tempt their city neighbours into selling. Everton plot Branthwaite talks A new report in Caught Offside now claims that Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham AND Liverpool have all got their eye on Branthwaite - who is valued at around the £70m mark. Advertisement As such, the Toffees are planning contract talks with their star defender - who is currently tied to the club until 2027. But should no new deal be agreed for the 23-year-old, then Liverpool would be in a good position to pounce. 'No concrete talks have taken place,' the report continues. 'But the admiration for Branthwaite is there, so it could be one to watch.' © IMAGO Could Liverpool use Doak to sign Branthwaite? David Moyes' side are reported to admire Ben Doak and by adding the Scotland winger to any potential deal, Liverpool could significantly reduce the upfront costs. With Quansah being sold, Konate seemingly heading out the door and Van Dijk contracted until 2027 - Liverpool will soon need to conduct a serious transfer overhaul at centre-back. Maybe Guehi and fellow England international Branthwaite will be the ones leading the club into the new era.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Atletico Madrid decision on Andy Robertson
Atletico Madrid are planning a change of transfer direction in the coming days following an update from Liverpool. Diego Simeone is rumoured to be looking at several transfer targets to bolster his squad following a disappointing FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Advertisement Atletico Madrid's group stage exit in the USA has sharpened focus on what Simeone needs to do in the summer transfer market. Left back has been highlighted as a key area to be improved with Andy Robertson emerging as Simeone's rumoured No.1 option. Atletico Madrid receive Andy Robertson transfer update From the start of their interest in the Scotland international, Atletico Madrid outlined their stance of looking for a cut price deal, with the 31-year-old into the final year of his contract at Anfield. Initial estimates claimed Liverpool would accept an offer in the region of £5m, as a cheaper option to Aston Villa's Lucas Digne, but that was not accepted by Los Rojiblancos. Advertisement Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has since offered an update on the situation with a hint that patience has run out in Madrid as Robertson delays his call. 'We don't expect Andy Robertson to go to Atletico Madrid anymore,' Romano stated on his YouTube channel. 'Robertson was a candidate, a strong candidate, for Atletico Madrid. They had concrete conversations, then the player was taking his time to decide his future, also out of respect for Liverpool, where he's still loving the club, the fan base and all the people at the club. 'It's important to say Atletico Madrid, as I told you several times, wanted to pay a very small transfer fee or a free transfer for Robertson from Liverpool, so that was not possible.' Robertson's apparent desire to stay on Merseyside has enabled Simeone to explore other options on the left side of his defence with a possible bid incoming for Atalanta's Matteo Ruggeri next month.
