The Jeep Cherokee SUV Is Coming Back as a Hybrid
As you can see in these initial photos, the new Cherokee certainly looks the part of a Jeep, with upright dimensions and squared-off styling. We expect a full range of models to be offered, and Jeep would definitely be smart to bring back the Cherokee Trailhawk trim to take on similarly rugged offerings like the Honda CR-V TrailSport, Subaru Forester Wilderness and Toyota RAV4 Woodland.
As for what's under the hood, Jeep says the Cherokee will use "a new, efficient and powerful hybrid propulsion option," which certainly makes sense, considering many other small SUVs are either hybrid-heavy or — in the case of the new RAV4 — hybrid-only. Of course, we won't rule out a gas-only option, and a Cherokee EV could be in the works, too.
Further details — including pricing — won't be available for several months. But if Jeep's timeline stays on track, we'll see the 2026 Cherokee on the road before 2025 comes to a close.

The Radiant Table arrives in San Francisco for immersive dinner experience
At One Market Plaza, just across from the Ferry Building, The Radiant Table just opened for a six-week run, offering a new kind of dining experience. "When a guest comes in, they're sort of transported into this alternate realm where they're meeting their favorite chefs, but they're also experiencing their food in a way that they've never been able to do before," said Minkoff. Sam Minkoff is founder of SE Productions. He and his wife went to work quickly, building tables, setting up projectors, and transforming a co-working space cafe on the first floor, in just one week, into a colorful, immersive culinary experience. "The visuals on the table are meant to really complement the chef's meal, and the chefs design their meals around the visuals and vice versa. So, there's a major storytelling component there that allows those guests to kind of dive even deeper into the story of why that dish was created by that particular chef," said Minkoff. Michael Seiler, the founder of Collective Impact, a strategy firm, isn't leasing prime commercial real estate to just any business. He's looking for visionaries, artists, and entrepreneurs who can offer a different kind of product. "In downtown, you still see a lot of empty retail and so if you can empower those arts, culture and community leaders to activate the empty retail space, you immediately give them what they need to flourish, to grow, to get more people together, to grow opportunities for community and commerce, and that's what building owners want," said Seiler. In exchange for prime retail space that would normally cost tens of thousands a month, Minkoff and his team are showing how empty spaces can be used to attract permanent tenants. Once treasured pieces of downtown property worth hundreds of millions have sold for a fraction of what they were worth pre pandemic. "What they want is community in their space and vibrancy. They want their buildings to be alive. They want people to be enjoying it. They want people to be purchasing and buying. They want people to enjoy being back in person," said Seiler. It's experiences like this, art galleries with wine and clay making classes, and expos during SF Climate Week for example, that Seiler sees as a way to create a hub for community and commerce. "The narrative isn't out yet that San Francisco is back. It's vibrant. There are communities churning out their next version of what San Francisco will be," said Seiler. It's bringing people to the table, connecting them with the community, and hoping others will want to come back to a thriving downtown. Each dinner at The Radiant Table features a new chef including some Michelin Star winners. After its debut in San Francisco ends in June, the Radiant Table will head to Bellevue Washington next.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket roared skyward on Wednesday on what was also the 15th anniversary of the first-ever Falcon 9 launch. The anniversary mission launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, deploying 27 Starlink internet satellites to low-Earth orbit. Recommended Videos Following stage separation, the Falcon 9 booster returned and landed on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which was waiting in the Pacific Ocean. It's been a busy 15 years for SpaceX, during which it has perfected the launch-to-landing system of its workhorse Falcon 9 rocket. SpaceX's first launch of the Falcon 9 took at Cape Canaveral in Florida on June 4, 2010. The inaugural flight marked a significant milestone in commercial spaceflight history as it was the first time that a privately developed rocket of Falcon 9's size had been successfully launched to orbit. The mission deployed a prototype of the Dragon spacecraft, called the Dragon Spacecraft Qualification Unit. The uncrewed test flight evaluated the rocket's performance and the spacecraft's aerodynamic capabilities, with the latter completing more than 300 orbits before reentering Earth's atmosphere and burning up later that month. You can watch the highlights of the historic flight below: The successful inaugural launch laid the foundation for SpaceX's subsequent achievements, including the first commercial spacecraft to dock with the International Space Station (ISS) in 2012 and the development of reusable rocket technology. Today, the Falcon 9, Dragon, and Crew Dragon make regular runs to the ISS, carrying both cargo and crew. The workhorse rocket also deploys satellites for government and commercial entities globally, and, as in Wednesday's mission, is helping to build out SpaceX's internet-from-space Starlink service with numerous satellite deployments in low-Earth orbit. Importantly, the Falcon 9 was also a stepping stone to the development of the mighty Starship, the most powerful rocket ever to fly. The Starship comprises the first-stage Super Heavy booster and the upper-stage Starship spacecraft. The 120-meter-tall vehicle made its first flight in April 2023, and its most recent one just last month. The rocket will one day be used for crew and cargo voyages to the moon, and possibly Mars, too.
