Fluctuations in price have seen South African motorists experience a rollercoaster ride over the past year, but the past several months have yielded decreased prices at the pumps, and that seems set to continue in June. The expected reductions are attributed to a combination of factors, including a relatively stable rand-dollar exchange rate and subdued international oil prices. As of mid-May, the rand was trading at approximately R18 to the US dollar, while Brent crude oil prices hovered around $65 per barrel.

Predicted June fuel price adjustment summary
Should these conditions persist, the anticipated fuel price adjustments for June are:
Unleaded 93 : Decrease of 26 to 30 cents per litre
: Unleaded 95 : Decrease of 25 to 30 cents per litre
: Diesel 500 ppm : Decrease of 53 to 60 cents per litre

Trump hit back with the power of the US government behind him, saying he could cancel the Space X boss's multi-billion-dollar rocket and satellite contracts. Trump struck a milder tone late Friday when asked how seriously he is considering cutting Musk's contracts. "It's a lot of money, it's a lot of subsidy, so we'll take a look -- only if it's fair. Only if it's to be fair for him and the country," he said. Musk apparently also tried to de-escalate social media hostilities.
