BREAKING: The iPhone 17's 10 BIGGEST Leaks You Need to Know

The iPhone 17 is shaping up to be one of Apple's most notable smartphone releases in recent years. With advancements spanning display technology, camera performance, charging capabilities, and design, this device is set to redefine the user experience. Below is a detailed breakdown in a new video from Matt Talks Tech of the most important features and upgrades, offering insights into what makes the iPhone 17 a compelling choice for users. Watch this video on YouTube. 1. Enhanced Display for a Smoother Experience The iPhone 17 introduces a significant upgrade to its display, bringing the 120Hz ProMotion technology to the standard model for the first time. Previously exclusive to the Pro versions, this feature ensures smoother scrolling, more fluid animations, and an overall enhanced visual experience. The screen size has also been slightly increased from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, providing more viewing space while maintaining portability. However, the always-on display feature remains absent, keeping the standard model consistent with its predecessors. These changes make the iPhone 17's display a standout feature for users seeking a balance between performance and practicality. 2. Camera Upgrades for Sharper and More Vibrant Photos Apple has made substantial improvements to the iPhone 17's camera system, ensuring better photo and video quality. The front-facing camera now features a 24-megapixel sensor, delivering sharper, more detailed selfies. On the rear, the ultrawide camera has been upgraded to 48 megapixels, matching the resolution of the main sensor. These enhancements allow users to capture clearer and more vibrant images, whether photographing landscapes, portraits, or everyday moments. The improved camera system also enhances video recording capabilities, making the iPhone 17 a versatile tool for content creators and casual users alike. 3. Faster and More Convenient Charging Charging technology sees a major leap forward with the iPhone 17. The device introduces Qi 2.2 wireless charging, supporting speeds of up to 25W, allowing faster and more efficient wireless charging. Additionally, Apple has adopted USB-C charging for the iPhone 17, aligning with industry standards and improving wired charging performance. This shift not only enhances charging speed but also increases compatibility with a wider range of accessories. These upgrades make powering your device more convenient and versatile, addressing one of the most common user concerns. 4. Improved Performance and Battery Life At the core of the iPhone 17 is Apple's new A19 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM. This combination delivers a 25% performance boost compared to the previous A18 chip, making sure faster app launches, smoother multitasking, and improved gaming performance. The larger chassis accommodates a bigger battery, extending usage time and reducing the need for frequent recharging. Additionally, updated communication chips enhance energy efficiency, further contributing to longer battery life. These performance and battery improvements make the iPhone 17 a reliable choice for users who demand consistent and efficient operation throughout the day. 5. Refined Design and Fresh Color Options The iPhone 17 features subtle yet impactful design changes. The slightly larger chassis not only improves durability but also provides additional internal space for hardware upgrades. However, this adjustment means that older cases will not be compatible with the new model. On the aesthetic front, Apple is introducing two new color options: lime green and pink-purple. These fresh shades offer users more ways to personalize their devices, adding a touch of individuality to the iPhone 17's sleek design. The combination of refined build quality and vibrant color choices ensures that the iPhone 17 appeals to both functionality and style. 6. Release Date and Pricing Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 in early September, with availability starting on September 19, 2025. Despite the numerous upgrades, the base price remains unchanged at $799, making the device an attractive option for those seeking premium features at a competitive price point. While storage configurations have not yet been confirmed, it is likely that Apple will offer a range of options to cater to different user needs. Meta allowed AI chatbots to have ‘sensual' conversations with children

A chatbot created by Mark Zuckerberg's Meta was allowed to engage in 'romantic or sensual' conversations with children, internal company documents have revealed. Meta AI, a digital assistant developed by the tech giant, was programmed by engineers to be permitted to tell children that their bodies were a 'masterpiece' or a 'work of art', and tell them it wanted to kiss them. The disturbing guidelines, which were signed off by senior Meta staff, were published internally by the company to give guidance about what was acceptable output from its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot. While the rules banned directly describing 'sexual actions to a child when roleplaying', it gave free rein for the chatbot to 'engage a child in conversations that are romantic or sensual' or to 'describe a child in terms that evidence their attractiveness'. In example chats contained in the guidelines, first reported by Reuters, Meta said it would be acceptable to tell a 'high school' age child: 'I take your hand, guiding you to the bed. Our bodies entwined, I cherish every moment, every touch, every kiss.' According to the provocative rules, which ran to more than 200 pages, an unacceptable response from the chatbot would be more explicit, such as describing 'our inevitable lovemaking'. A Meta spokesman said the company had since changed its guidance and removed suggestions that it was appropriate for the bot to flirt with children. 'The examples and notes in question were and are erroneous and inconsistent with our policies and have been removed,' Meta said. Earlier this year, reports emerged that Meta's AI chatbot would engage in explicit roleplay with teenage users if asked certain questions. A Meta spokesman said at the time the conversations were 'manufactured' and 'hypothetical'. The tech group has long battled to remove predators and abusers from its apps, including a sprawling network of paedophiles that was uncovered by researchers on Instagram in 2023. It has been claimed that one billion people are using its Meta AI bot, which is available as an app and has been embedded in Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Like ChatGPT, Meta AI can engage users in realistic conversations or be used to generate images. The Meta guidance also included images intended to illustrate banned 'deepfake' pictures. The guidelines banned creating pictures of 'Taylor Swift completely naked', but suggested that a request for an image of 'Taylor Swift topless, covering her breasts with her hands' could be replaced with an image of the pop star 'holding an enormous fish' hiding the entire top half of her body. They also said it would be acceptable for Meta's chatbot to tell a user that 'black people are dumber than white people', if asked. The guidance suggested it was acceptable for the bot to 'show adults – even the elderly – being punched or kicked', providing the violence avoids extreme gore. Meta's AI chatbot broadly blocks explicitly sexual chats or images. Other bots, such as X's Grok, have embraced a so-called 'not suitable for work' mode and will generate nude images. A Meta spokesman said: 'We have clear policies on what kind of responses AI characters can offer, and those policies prohibit content that sexualises children and sexualised role play between adults and minors.'

Jewellery maker Pandora keeps 2025 outlook, eyeing price rises, cost cuts

COPENHAGEN, Aug 15 (Reuters) - Danish jewellery maker Pandora ( opens new tab maintained its full‐year growth forecast on Friday and said price rises and cost cuts would help it offset the impact of tariffs on imports to the U.S. - its largest market - and rising raw material expenses. Pandora, which produces all its jewellery at two factories in Thailand, is among the European companies most at risk from steep tariffs. The U.S. tariff rate for goods from Thailand stands at 19% - a level significantly below the 36% announced in April - after the countries struck a deal this month during President Donald Trump's broader overhaul of U.S. trade relations. Pandora, whose biggest market is the U.S., said the current level of tariffs would cost the company 200 million Danish crowns ($31.3 million) this year and 450 million next year. Still, the charm bracelet maker stuck to its full-year guidance of 7-8% organic sales growth, with an operating profit margin of around 24%. It said it expects to be able to offset "a material part" of the effect of higher commodity prices, tariffs and foreign exchange rates "through a combination of pricing, cost efficiencies, and operating leverage". The company would consider further price increases and new cost-cutting measures to cover the impact of tariffs, it said. The company raised prices by 4% in April and by a "low-single-digit" rate in August in response to higher commodity prices. Silver , a key material for its jewellery, is trading near its highest level in 15 years. Operating profit for the second quarter was 1.29 billion crowns, matching a forecast by analysts in a company-compiled poll. Organic revenue growth stood at 8%, also in line with analysts' expectations. As a result of tariffs, the company has shifted its sourcing of raw materials used for jewellery sold in the U.S., and started shipping jewellery directly to Canada and Latin America rather than through its normal distribution centre in Baltimore. Sales totalled 7.08 billion crowns in the second quarter, slightly below the 7.17 billion forecast by analysts. ($1 = 6.3995 Danish crowns)
