Rays get another homer from Junior Caminero in victory over Rangers
June 4 - Drew Rasmussen extended his scoreless innings streak to 23 after striking out eight batters over five frames, fueling the host Tampa Bay Rays to a 5-1 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday.
Rasmussen (5-4) recorded his fourth straight win after allowing just one hit: Jake Burger's infield single to lead off the third inning.
Tampa Bay's Junior Caminero and Kameron Misner hit solo homers and Jake Mangum had an RBI single.
Yandy Diaz scored on a wild pitch and joined Jonathan Aranda in recording two of the eight hits for the Rays, who have won 10 of their last 13 games.
Four relievers bridged the gap to Pete Fairbanks, who retired the side in order in the ninth.
Burger had an RBI single in the seventh inning for the Rangers, who mustered just four hits to fall to 9-19 on the road this season.
Texas' Evan Carter went 0-for-1 in his return to the lineup before being replaced by Sam Haggerty. Carter had been sidelined since May 16 with a Grade 2 strain of his right quadriceps.
Misner deposited a 0-2 fastball from Tyler Mahle (5-3) over the wall in left field with one out in the second inning to open the scoring. Misner's homer was his fifth of the season and first since May 15.
Tampa Bay extended its advantage in the sixth inning after loading the bases against Mahle before reliever Jacob Latz uncorked a wild pitch that sailed to the backstop to score Diaz. Mangum's infield single plated Aranda, and Caminero scored from third on a double-steal to stake the Rays to a 4-0 lead.
That closed the book on Mahle, who permitted four runs on five hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Caminero answered Burger's RBI single by sending a first-pitch fastball from Codi Heuer over the wall in left-center field in the eighth inning. The homer was Caminero's team-leading 14th of the season and fifth in his last six games.

Now Australian developer PlaySide is hoping we'll do the same for its new game based on the popular series. War for Westeros is a real-time strategy game - or RTS - out next year, where players can control the armies of the Great Houses across some of the locations you might know from the show and books it's based on. We've been told you'll be able to take over Westeros solo, or play against your mates online when it launches on PC next year. Mads Mikkelsen stars again as Bond villain What's your favourite Bond film of all time? Biles calls Gaines 'sick' in trans rights row
Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles has called former US swimmer and activist Riley Gaines "sick" over online comments about a transgender woman softball who has regularly spoken out about transgender women athletes competing in women's sport, mocked Minnesota State High School League for removing comments on their post about the Chaplin Park girls' team celebrating the State Park's team includes a transgender woman player. One thing's for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around."Biles, a seven-time gold medallist, has been an outspoken campaigner for mental health awareness throughout her withdrew from the women's team final at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021, as well as four subsequent individual finals, in order to prioritise her mental responded to Biles in follow-up posts, saying the gymnast's stance was "so disappointing" and saying she should not be advocating for transgender women in women's sport with her tying with Thomas in 2022, Gaines has said she felt "cheated, betrayed and violated". She has become an advocate for banning transgender women athletes from competing against women and February, Gaines was present at the White House when United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order excluding transgender girls and women from competing in women's April, judges at the UK Supreme Court ruled that a woman is defined by biological sex under equalities that ruling, a number of UK sporting bodies, including the Football Association and the England and Wales Cricket Board, have banned transgender women from playing in women's sport.
