Mavuika vs Emilie in Genshin 5.7 Phase 2: Whom should you choose?

Time of India05-07-2025
With Genshin Impact 5.7 Phase 2 banners running from July 8 to 30, 2025, players are once again caught in the dilemma, pulling for the fearsome Pyro Archon Mavuika or the niche. Both 5-stars come back on a double rerun banner accompanied by a fire lineup of 4-stars like Iansan, Xiangling, and Yaoyao.

If you're hoarding Primogems, picking smart is essential. Here's a closer look at who's worthy of your wish.
Mavuika: A Powerhouse with Versatility
Mavuika is not merely a hard-hitting Pyro claymore wielder, she is the Pyro Archon. Her on-field damage output is massive, thanks to the 'Fighting Spirit' mechanic and her ability to deal damage aligned with Night Soul. Her Elemental Burst provides crushing Pyro AoE, and she flourishes as a team carry when sufficiently supported.
She slots best in Night Soul comps, which can be a bit more niche to build, but even beyond that, her pure damage output and flashy kit make her worth the investment. F2P players win as well. Mavuika plays great with readily available weapons and doesn't necessarily require premium swords to dazzle.
If you want a top-tier DPS that will still be good in future content, Mavuika is the way to go.
Emilie : Burning Specialist with Specific Needs
Emilie, the 5-star Dendro polearm user, is a more situational choice.
She performs well off-field in Burning teams, and her skillset rewards players who like to play reaction-heavy comps. Beyond that, her damage drops off steeply, and she has no utility.
The excellent news! Emilie is cost-effective, doesn't require top-tier equipment, and pairs excellently with characters like Xiangling and Bennett. To really optimize her, you'll need to craft a whole team around setting off Burning regularly—which may not be everyone's style.

Fantastic if you're heavy on the Dendro-Pyro synergies, but less than optimal for more general content.
What's with the 4-star lineup?
And even if you're not rooting for the 5-stars, this banner's 4-stars loaded with value. Iansan is a great support with Constellations bringing real utility. Xiangling is still a meta staple, and Yaoyao provides consistent healing for Dendro teams. This renders the Phase 2 banner worthwhile even for players who aren't specifically aiming for Emilie or Mavuika.
Banner Review - Mavuika, Emilie, and Weapons | Genshin Impact 5.7
When Emilie has her fans, Mavuika provides more value to a wider audience. Her strength, versatility and enjoyable mechanics make her a valuable asset to most lineups. Unless you're assembling a devoted Burning squad, Mavuika is the more secure and more powerful pull in Genshin Impact Variation 5.7 Phase 2.

Lee Chang-dong to return with Netflixs Possible Love

Agency: PTI Last Updated: Seoul, Aug 5 (PTI) Acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Lee Chang-dong is returning to the director's chair after eight years with 'Possible Love", a new movie from streaming service Netflix. The film, which is Lee's first project since 2018's 'Burning", follows the lives of two married couples living starkly contrasting lives. As the couples' worlds begin to collide, the drama explores themes of love, conflict and the quiet unravelling of ordinary existence, Netflix stated in a press release. The movie will feature an ensemble of some of South Korea's most celebrated actors — Jeon Do-yeon, Sul Kyung-gu, Zo In-sung and Cho Yeo-jeong of 'Parasite" fame. Jeon will play Mi-ok, opposite Sul as her husband Ho-seok. The second couple – Sang-woo and Ye-ji – will be portrayed by Zo and Cho, respectively. The project reunites Lee with screenplay writer Oh Jung-mi, with whom he collaborated on 'Burning". The film is being produced by Pinehouse Film, alongside Anonymous Content and NOWFILM Co Ltd, and will be distributed by Netflix. Lee has carved a unique niche in world cinema with internationally acclaimed films such as 'Green Fish" (1997), 'Oasis" (2002), and 'Poetry" (2010). He won the Silver Lion for best direction at Venice Film Festival for 'Oasis" and a best screenplay award at Cannes for 'Poetry". Lee's last film, 'Burning", won the International Critics' Prize at Cannes in 2018. PTI SMR RB RB view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. All new event weapons leaked in Genshin Impact 6.0

Image via: HoYoverse As Genshin Impact nears Version 6.0, leaks have begun to shape player expectations, especially regarding one of the most talked-about updates: weapons. Supposedly, seven new 4-star weapons will be introduced, five of which belong to the Nod-Krai craftable line. Two others, according to data miners, will be unlocked from a quest and from an event respectively. Stat upgrades aside, these additions further cement the deepening ties into elemental gameplay and regional lore. Nod-Krai Craftable Arsenal Typical of a new region, Genshin's Nod-Krai introduces an entire set of forgeable 4-star weapons, including Sword, Polearm, Bow, Catalyst, and Claymore. What stands out, though, is the synergy with Elemental Reactions as well as a unique mechanic called Lunar Phase. The Forge Sword focuses on Energy Recharge and HP scaling for utility to healers or hybrid supports. Triggering an Elemental Reaction grants Max HP to the user, fitting for Nilou or Xianyun in particular. The Forge Polearm is a good choice for DPS units because it includes ATK as a secondary stat and offers a hefty bonus to Electro-Charged and Lunar-Charged damage. Expect this very niche synergy to be quite helpful for Raiden or Cyno. The Forge Bow and Forge Claymore , on the other hand, focus on enhancing Elemental Mastery after a reaction. If Lunar Phase (there might be a new regional or combat buff mechanic) goes over a special threshold, they trigger other effects-they could very well relate to meta changes with rotation dynamics. The Forge Catalyst goes down the Bloom path, raising damage for Bloom and Lunar-Bloom. This is quite the green light for Dendro and Hydro to continue being pivotal for team comps. Together, these weapons would probably cover nearly every elemental system but require players to fine-tune their reaction execution. City Sword : Quest-Based Utility with Tactical Energy Scaling One of the more interesting leaks is that City Sword is supposedly attained via a 6.0 questline. Unlike the craftables, this sword gives Buffs to Elemental Burst Damage tailored depending on the character's Energy threshold. The scaling mechanic is flexible, increasing Burst Damage between 20% up to possibly 48%. Its official name is kept under wraps for now, but the early data suggest that it increases Blood and Lunar-Bloom damage, similar to the craftable variant. Perhaps this could mean that the future events of Nod-Krai will strongly focus on Dendro-Hydro synergy or maybe it would be a nod toward the introduction of a new character who makes the best use of this Catalyst. 6.0 FULL BREAKDOWN! Banners, Reruns, Events, Full Kits, Columbina, New Mode - Genshin Impact Though the weapons may not directly compete with top-notch 5-stars, their passives are complex and rewarding in terms of interactions, both for casual and theory-crafting players. Placing heavy emphasis on Elemental Reactions, Lunar Phase, and Energy scaling sounds almost like a brave step toward adding more layers to combat in the game. For those getting into Nod-Krai, these weapons could possibly be your strongest allies, in battle and in creative endeavors.
