All Amarnath Yatra Routes Declared 'No Fly Zones' Between July 1 And Aug 10

J&K administration on Tuesday declared all Amarnath Yatra routes as 'no fly zones' between July 1 and August 10 as a security measure to provide foolproof security to the upcoming Yatra.
An order issued by the Home Department said that the Lt Governor (L-G) has given strict security directives regarding aerial activity during the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025, declaring all Yatra routes as "No Flying Zones" between July 1 and August 10, 2025.
"In view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025, which is scheduled we.f. 03.07.2025 to 09.08.2025, various security arrangements are being undertaken for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra, and all the stakeholders have discussed the prevailing security scenario and have proposed additional logistics provisions," reads an official order.
It added that the Ministry of Home Affairs have also advised that the entire route of Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025 may be declared as 'No Flying Zone' w.e.f. July 01 to August 10, 2025.
The government said that to ensure strengthened security during the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2025, all the routes of Shri Amarnathji Yatra are hereby declared as 'No Flying Zone' including both Pahalgam axis and Baltal axis and thus, flying of any kind of aviation platforms and devices including UAVs, Drones, Balloons, etc. is prohibited.
"These restrictions will not be applicable in the cases of medical evacuation, disaster management and for surveillance by security forces. A detailed SOP for such exceptions will be issued subsequently," it said.
Officials have claimed that all security arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra.

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said students from the union territory studying in Iran are being taken to Armenia from where they would be brought home. "I don't have intelligence inputs on the basis of which such a decision was taken, but I think this is for the first time in so many years that helicopter services are not being allowed from Pahalgam and Baltal," he added. The chief minister said such a decision could send a wrong message in the county regarding the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Replying to a question about the reopening of parks at tourist destinations which were closed after April 22 Pahalgam attack, Abdullah said it was a good move. "We were trying this for so many days now because it was strange that while trying to revive tourism here, we were keeping half of Kashmir closed. This is a good thing that the destinations are reopening gradually and we hope the tourists will start returning," he added.

Amarnath Yatra routes no-fly zone; no chopper service for pilgrims this year
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir govt Tuesday announced that the routes leading to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnath in Ganderbal district would be no-fly zones from July 1 to Aug 10. In an order, the J&K home department said that the decision was based on recommendations from the Union home ministry. Shri Amarnath shrine stands at 3,888m, 46km from the picturesque Pahalgam Valley in south Kashmir and 14km from Baltal in Sonamarg in north Kashmir. Flying over both Pahalgam and Baltal routes has been prohibited for aviation platforms and devices, including UAVs, drones and balloons. These restrictions, however, will not be applicable in cases of medical evacuation, disaster management or surveillance by security forces. The home department order stated that various security measures are being taken to ensure a smooth and peaceful this year, and all stakeholders have discussed the prevailing security scenario in the Union Territory and proposed additional logistics provisions. Confirming the unavailability of helicopter services for pilgrims during the Yatra this year, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board on its website stated that devotees planning to visit the shrine should reach there on foot or avail the services of ponies and palkis during the Yatra. Meanwhile, Union home secretary Govind Mohan on Tuesday chaired a review meeting for security preparedness during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Senior officials of J&K Police, the Army, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, BSF and other agencies participated in the meeting.

Kishor, during his "Badlao Yatra" in Gopalganj district of Bihar, told media persons that PM Modi had been befooling people of Bihar during his every visit to the state in election year. Even during 2015 Bihar assembly elections, Modi had promised special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore to the state, but it was never fulfilled, he pointed out. People of Bihar were coughing up to bear expenses of PM's visit to the state, he added.
