Brooklyn Beckham branded 'hostage' by family amid concerns he's become Nicola's 'puppet'

Daily Record26-05-2025

Brooklyn Beckham is reportedly known as 'the hostage' in his marriage to Nicola Peltz as an insider shares what David and Victoria Beckham really think
The Beckham family have reportedly long understood that Brooklyn Beckham cannot stand being on camera. He avoids it whenever possible - except when filming his cooking videos, according to a source.
Despite growing up in the spotlight around flashing lights and fame, with both David and Victoria being global icons for decades, their eldest son was never one to join in, according to his mum and dad.

Despite this, a new video has emerged showing 26-year-old Brooklyn revving a motorbike alongside his wife, 30-year-old Nicola Peltz in Beverly Hills - a striking display of their relationship. More than just a romantic outing, the post is widely seen as Brooklyn throwing his full support behind Nicola, amid the ongoing tensions with his family.

Sources close to his mother and father suggest their frustration is now completely directed at their daughter-in-law, the Mirror reports.
Alongside the video, Brooklyn wrote: "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby."
The message seems to be a clear nod to the ongoing family rift. It's the first time either Brooklyn or Nicola have made a public gesture acknowledging the very visible divide within the Beckham family.
Earlier this month, the pair were noticeably absent from David's 50th birthday celebrations, snubbing every event entirely - which reportedly left the Beckham family not only hurt, but also alarmed.
Sources now claim that David and Victoria's eldest son is being "held hostage" by his wife. 'Brooklyn is now being referred to as 'the hostage.' He is in a situation where those who love Brooklyn fear that he is being controlled by Nicola and it is heartbreaking,' an insider told Mail Online.

They continued: 'Videos like this are just not what he does. He will be dying inside. He's soppy and he's a romantic, but that video just isn't him. He hates all of that stuff so you have to wonder if Nicola was behind it.'
According to sources, David and Victoria have washed their hands of Nicola following the endless tension and issues since her and Brooklyn's £3 million wedding in April 2022 at her family's Palm Beach Estate mansion, worth $76 million.

Brooklyn and Nicola not only missed David's birthday celebrations, but also a string of family moments, including a casual get together at the Beckhams' Cotswolds retreat, a holiday in France, a dinner at the upscale London restaurant Core and even a fishing trip in the Scottish Highlands with his dad and younger brothers - Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 19.
Brooklyn also failed to attend a pre-birthday party in Miami at Cipriani in March.
His social ties have reportedly shifted too, once close with Jack Ramsey, son of Scots chef Gordon Ramsay, and Rocco Ritchie, son of director Guy Richie, Brooklyn is no longer spending time with them.

Perhaps the most painful moment was just last week, when Brooklyn and Nicola flew into London for a Moncler fashion shoot - just a few miles from the Beckham home in Holland Park - yet they still made no effort to connect.
Nicola, though absent from the shoot's location, revealed her involvement online, while Brooklyn was seen posing with a bike in an off-white Moncler coat. The post made its way online just before David appeared at the Chelsea Flower Show, and it was through Nicola's Instagram post he learned the couple were in England.

By Tuesday, the pair had already returned home to America, without making any contact with any of the Beckham family.
Brooklyn's growing distance from his brother Romeo is well known, but his apparent avoidance of his youngest sibling, Harper, has reportedly been extremely painful for the family.

In the early stages of their relationship, Nicola frequently posted affectionate content with Harper, calling her "my little sister" and regularly including her in TikTok and Instagram posts.
Elsewhere, just hours after Brooklyn's Instagram declaration, Cruz appeared to respond in his own way, publicly showing his loyalty to their parents. 'I love my family. I love you guys more than anything, mum and dad you gave us life and cared for us no matter what, I cannot tell you how blessed we are to have you in our lives,' he wrote.
An insider reflected on Brooklyn's absence, claiming: 'He and Cruz barely ever argued. And yet they haven't seen each other in ages. You have to wonder if he isn't allowed [to see him]."
They added: 'And then there's Harper. It's absolutely heartbreaking that Brooklyn and Nicola didn't even try to see her while they were in London. Nicola used to dote on her, posting about how much she adored Harper. Was it all just for image? Whatever the reason, excluding a young girl who's done nothing wrong is just cruel.'
They came to the conclusion that "there's no way Brooklyn would willingly shut out his family like this. It just doesn't add up."
