AlUla, Saudi Arabia,January 2025: The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), in partnership with the Saudi Camel Racing Federation, has announced the successful return of the AlUla Camel Racing Season, a key event showcasing the AlUla's status as the home of heritage sports.
Kicked off in October 2024 and running through April 2025, the AlUla Camel Racing Season will host over 1,557 participants competing in a series of races, offering a blend of tradition, culture, and sporting excellence amidst AlUla's stunning landscapes. This season will feature the highly anticipated third edition of the AlUla Camel Race through to 26 April, which will attract elite camel riders from Saudi Arabia and the region.
This season's venue is taking place at Mughayra Heritage Sports Village, a state-of-the-art facility spanning 50sqkm. Located south of AlUla, it features 25sqkm racetracks, including an 8km racetrack and 6km training track. The venue exemplifies RCU's long-term ambition to support and develop heritage sports, uplift the community by improving quality of life, and celebrate the culture and heritage of Saudi Arabia.

As RCU continues to regenerate AlUla into a unique destination for sports, diverse competitions are fuelling north-west Arabia's reputation as the region's home for much-loved heritage sports events, including Camel racing.

This Equestrian Endurance Event in AlUla Offers a SAR 15 Million Prize
Over 300 riders from around the world will be participating in AlFursan Endurance AlUla 2025. AlFursan Endurance AlUla is taking place from February 8th to the 9th, featuring two races that will test a racer's skill and endurance to the limit. The first event will be the 120km Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques on February 8th, which will offer the world's current highest prize money with a prize pool of SAR 15 million. The next day, the El Mutadil Endurance Cup will feature a prize pool of SAR 5 million. Over 300 riders from over 66 countries will be participating in AlFursan Endurance AlUla. The event will be held under the supervision of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) in partnership with the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation (SAEF). AlFursan Endurance AlUla will be held in anticipation of the Endurance World Championship of 2025 in France. Aside from long distance gallops, Al Fursan will also hold community engagement events, kids entertainment activities, music performances and retail shopping destinations.

World's First Desert Polo Tournament Returns to AlUla in January 2025
The Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo, the world's first desert polo event, will stir up a storm on January 17th and the 18th. The Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo tournament, recognised as the world's first organised desert polo event, is set to return to AlUla on January 17th and the 18th, 2025. Organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) in collaboration with the Saudi Polo Federation (SPF), the event will take place at the AlFursan Equestrian Village, continuing its tradition of blending equestrian heritage with world-class sport. Richard Mille remains the title sponsor. Six teams, each comprising three players, will compete for the coveted Desert Polo trophy. The roster includes prominent names such as Adolfo Cambiaso, widely regarded as one of the greatest polo players, alongside his son Poroto and daughter Mia Cambiaso. Other notable participants include Nacho Figueras and Pablo Mac Donough. Female players, who first joined the tournament in 2024, will once again participate, underscoring the inclusive spirit of the event. In addition to the matches, the event will also furnish a variety of family-friendly activities, including a Kids Zone featuring interactive games and educational opportunities. Guests can enjoy traditional and contemporary musical performances and sample a diverse range of food and beverages, with mocktails crafted by professional mixologists.
