Snoop Dogg Reacted After He Was Called A "Sellout" For Performing At A Trump Inauguration Event

If you recall, in January, Snoop performed at a Crypto Ball, hosted by Trump's crypto czar David Sacks, to celebrate the incoming administration. He received immediate backlash, with tons of fans calling him out on social media and thousands reportedly unfollowing him.
It appeared to be a big change in opinion for Snoop, who had once been one of Trump's most vocal critics. He'd notably refused to vote for him in 2016 and said those who supported him in 2020 were "stupid motherfuckers."

At the time, Snoop briefly addressed the backlash in an Instagram video, saying people needed to "stop worrying" about him, and he further addressed the backlash this week on The Breakfast Club.
When asked if he was bothered by the criticism he received, Snoop said no, because, to him, he did it for a good cause. "I DJed at the Crypto Ball for what, 30 minutes?" he said. "Made a whole bunch of money, made a lot of relationships to help out the inner city and the community, and teach financial literacy and crypto in a space that it don't exist. That's 30 minutes. [For] 30 years, Snoop Dogg been doing great things for the community, building, showing up, standing up for the people, making it happen, being all I can be."

He also clarified that he didn't endorse Trump. "Even if I would have done it for him and hung out with him and took a picture with him, can't none of you motherfuckers tell me what I can and can't do," he continued. "But I'm not a politician. I don't represent the Republican Party. I don't represent the Democratic Party. I represent the motherfucking Gangster Party period point blank, and G shit we don't explain shit so that's why I didn't explain. That's why I didn't go into detail when motherfuckers was trying to cancel me and say he a sellout."
Snoop then shared direct comments he received on Instagram. He said, "I would post shit and I see motherfuckers like, 'Oh he a sellout.' You know what I would do? Jump right in their DM with a video, 'You bitch ass [N-word]. What's happening, [N-word], I'm Snoop Dogg, [N-word], what you want to do?' And guess what they would do? 'Oh, man, I'm just a fan man. I'm sorry.' Yeah [N-word], you got me fucked up. [N-word], I jump all off in your shit [N-word] and talk to you face to face."
Snoop said, "The things that I do in real life should matter to you more, not what I do when I'm DJing or making music or doing this and that." He added that the question should be, "What is he like as a real person?"

Supreme Court rejects Republican bid to bar some provisional ballots in Pennsylvania
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has rejected a Republican appeal and left in place a Pennsylvania court decision allowing people to cast provisional ballots when their mail-in votes are rejected for not following technical procedures in state law. The court released the decision Friday, after an 'apparent software malfunction' sent out early notifications about orders that had been slated to be released Monday. A technological error also resulted in an opinion being posted early last year. The justices acted in an appeal filed by the Republican National Committee, the state GOP and the Republican-majority election board in Butler County. Pennsylvania's top court ruled last year that the county must count provisional ballots that were cast by two voters after they learned their mail-in ballots were voided because they arrived without mandatory secrecy envelopes. Pennsylvania Democrats had urged the court to stay out of the case.

Olympic swimmer engulfed in ‘inappropriate' behaviour accusations makes fiery statement
Luana Alonso will no longer stay silent. The Paraguayan swimmer who reportedly was booted out of the Olympic Village during last year's Summer Games has fired back at 'false rumours' surrounding her departure from Paris. Alonso posted a fiery statement on her Instagram stories this week, hitting out at the reports that she was removed for creating an 'inappropriate atmosphere.' 'Let me make this clear: I left the Olympic Village on my own,' she wrote on Wednesday. 'These are false rumours that have hurt my name and my career.' Alonso ignited a firestorm at the Games last summer, going viral for alleged behaviour behind the scenes at the village. The 21-year-old swimmer competed for Paraguay in the women's 100-metre butterfly, but failed to reach the semifinals – and then seemingly announced her abrupt retirement from the sport in a post on Instagram. But instead of heading home, Alonso stayed in the French capital to see the sights – which were well-documented on her social media account – before reportedly got her booted by her country's Olympic committee for creating an 'inappropriate atmosphere.' 'Her presence is creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay,' Larissa Schaerer, the head of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), said in a statement at the time. But, 11 months later, Alonso is now firing back at the accusations. 'The Paraguayan Olympic team claimed I created an 'inappropriate environment' simply because I decided I didn't want to swim anymore,' she said. 'They tried to take my accreditation away, but that's not something they had the right to do. I chose not to hand it over and apparently that was 'inappropriate' to them.' The Daily Mail also reported that Alonso was accused of being a distraction to her fellow competitors with her socializing and attire. She was often seen sporting stylish outfits as opposed to team uniforms and opted to take a trip to Disneyland Paris instead of cheering on her compatriots. 'I was judged for wearing skinny clothes, for socializing, and for not conforming,' she added. 'That's not inappropriate — that's being a young adult. 'I had finished racing. I was no longer obligated to stay. If others saw that as disrespectful, that's on them.' Alonso reportedly checked into a Parisian hotel after leaving the Olympic Village, and visited high-end stores and restaurants. But despite the contentious nature between herself and her country's Olympic committee, the Southern Methodist University alum claims she was asked by Paraguayan swimming officials to return to the pool for the Pan American Junior Games, which are being held in the country's capital, Asunción, this August. 'If I had been treated like a human being, maybe I would have stayed,' she said. 'But they made me feel like a problem.' The two-time Olympian also threatened legal action against media outlets that are spreading the 'false rumours' about her. 'I'm seriously considering legal action against the magazines and media outlets spreading false rumours like that I was expelled from the Olympic Village. Really? Who came up with that nonsense? Well that it's not true,' she wrote. She also teased that she would be releasing a video to better explain her thinking. 'Seriously (these) lies are wild and affecting my life and that's why I decided I'm keeping my life lowkey,' she said.
