Wipro Infrastructure Engineering likely to acquire majority stake in French aerospace player Lauak Group
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), engineering and manufacturing solutions arm of Wipro Ltd. and the Charritton Family, founders and current shareholders of Lauak Group, on Wednesday entered into an exclusive negotiation at the Paris Air Show for a majority stake acquisition in the company. However, financial details are not yet known.
According to a communique from WIN, details of the proposed transaction were submitted to the relevant employee representative bodies for consultation, and all necessary approvals have now been received. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months, subject to customary closing conditions.
Lauak Group is a 50-year-old, family-owned, and renowned French aerospace manufacturer, serving as a tier-1 supplier to major global aerospace companies. The proposed acquisition would reinforce Wipro's commitment to expanding its footprint in the European aerospace sector and enhancing its global capabilities to support key industry players, it said.
Wipro further said, the Charritton family, shareholders of the LAUAK Group, have been engaged for several months in a strategic review of how best to secure the company's long-term future and development. Faced with changes in the aerospace sector and the emergence of new global players, this evolution of the group's shareholding structure with Wipro would be part of a broader industrial consolidation strategy.
Pratik Kumar, CEO, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering and MD, Wipro Enterprises said, 'This planned acquisition represents a significant moment in the continued growth of Wipro Aerospace. Lauak's rich legacy in Aerospace and specialized expertise align with our long-term vision of building a fully integrated, global aerospace solutions platform.''
WIE is a diversified business, delivering deep expertise across Hydraulics, Industrial Automation, Aerospace, Water Treatment, and Additive Manufacturing. The Lauak Group is a French supplier to aircraft manufacturers.

Oracle cloud to add xAI's Grok 3 model to lineup for corporate customers
Oracle said on Tuesday that its cloud computing division is working with Elon Musk's artificial intelligence firm xAI to offer the startup's latest AI model to business customers. Grok 3 , as the model is called, first came out February and aimed to rival the latest offerings from DeepSeek and OpenAI. Musk made the model available to paying subscribers of his X social media platform, as well as through xAI itself. Oracle will now offer Grok 3 from its data centres to corporate users who want to use the model but need their data to remain under their existing security protections with Oracle, Karan Batta, senior vice president at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure , told Reuters on Monday. Oracle also offers models from Meta, French startup Mistral and Cohere on the service, part of its overall strategy of providing versions of popular models in a way that businesses can integrate into corporate software. "Our goal here is to make sure that we can provide a portfolio of models - we don't have our own," Batta said. "That's the current strategy. We are going to be the one that offers all of them."

Le Bernardin New York
Agencies Representational Le Bernardin is not just a seafood restaurant - it's a masterclass in culinary precision. This Manhattan 3-Michelin-star temple to fine dining, helmed by Eric Ripert, delivers an experience as elegant as it's menu - organised into 'Almost Raw', 'Barely Touched' and 'Lightly Cooked' - guides diners through a seafood odyssey. The tuna carpaccio, pounded impossibly thin and laid over foie gras-slathered toast, is a textural marvel. Langoustine in truffled broth and fluke bathed in sea urchin bouillabaisse showcase Ripert's finesse with marine delicacies. But vegetarians are not forgotten. The menu impresses with plates like morel and spring pea casserole and an artichoke risotto finished with black truffle vinaigrette. Even dessert, like the purple sweet potato baba with pecan whipped cream, feels quietly transcendent. Lunch offers a more relaxed take on the Le Bernardin experience, though refinement still reigns. The lounge prix fixe includes a built-in donation to City Harvest - a nod to giving back. Service is faultless, and atmosphere strikes a rare balance: serene, but never Le Bernardin, balance reigns - between simplicity and luxury, French tradition and global flair. New Metro variant for Nashik city to be declared before polls
Nashik: Nashik city is in for some exciting news! Before the upcoming civic polls in Oct or Nov, a new Metro variant is expected to be announced. The city might get either a revised Neo Metro version or a light rail Metro system, with a decision likely by July-end. Maha Metro has shifted gears for Nashik's Metro project, exploring alternatives to the initially proposed 'Neo Metro' after receiving new directives from Centre. The authorities are now considering two Metro options that would best suit the city's needs. In the first option, the revised version of Neo Metro has been shortlisted for the city. This includes the tyre-based articulated AC coaches with a capacity of 250 passengers. These articulated coaches are being operated in Abu Dhabi and also in European countries. In the second option, light rail Metro has also been shortlisted, which is operational in Taiwan. A senior Maha Metro official said they shortlisted the two Metro options after studying the urban transport systems in Abu Dhabi, Taiwan, and other European nations. "There has been a change in the traffic pattern in the city over the last six to seven years, particularly after the Nashik airport became operational. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like One of the Most Successful Investors of All Time, Warren Buffett, Recommends: 5 Books for Turning...
