Emilia-Romagna government in Italy cuts ties with zionist entity over Gaza genocide

Saba Yemen2 days ago

Rome – Saba:
The government of Italy's Emilia-Romagna region in the north announced on Sunday the severance of all official relations with the Zionist entity's government, in response to the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli enemy forces against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Emilia-Romagna is the second Italian region, after Puglia, to cut ties with the Zionist entity's government over the genocide in Gaza, according to Anadolu Agency.
The Italian news agency ANSA reported that the president of the Emilia-Romagna regional government, Michele de Pascale, called on regional authorities in a letter to "sever relations with all individuals and structures linked to the concerned government (Israel) that have not clearly and explicitly expressed their willingness to stop the ongoing massacre until respect for international law is restored."
De Pascale explained that the decision was made within their capacities, considering the continued violence in Gaza, which has severely impacted civilians, as well as the tragic developments in Rafah and the case filed by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the Zionist entity's prime minister, war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The regional president emphasized that these measures are not directed at what he referred to as the "Israeli people," but rather at the "current Israeli government."
Similarly, the municipality of Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna, announced through its mayor, Matteo Lepore, the termination of its relations with the Israeli enemy government.
Emilia-Romagna is the second Italian region to cut ties with the Israeli entity's government, following a similar decision by Puglia's president, Michele Emiliano, last Thursday, citing the same reasons.
With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 54,418 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and the injury of 124,190 others—figures that remain non-final, as thousands remain trapped under rubble or in streets inaccessible to rescue teams.
