A tense climax saw Dunne reduce Crawford's lead to half a second, and the Irishman even briefly led while his rival made a mandatory pit stop, but the American ultimately narrowly prevailed, and Britain's Luke Browning completed the top three.
Dutch driver Richard Verschoor, who leads the overall standings, finished seventh today.
It was an improvement for the Offaly native, who was forced to retire from the Silverstone Sprint Race on Saturday.
Today's action continued an eventful few weeks for the Rodin Motorsport driver.
Last week, Dunne impressed on his Formula 1 debut, standing in for McLaren's Lando Norris during practice at the Austrian Grand Prix and finishing fourth.
The 19-year-old described becoming the first Irishman in 22 years to achieve this feat as 'the best day of my life'.

Justin Rose captures FedEx St. Jude after dramatic playoff

Justin Rose held off JJ Spaun after a dramatic three hole playoff to claim the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Tennessee, as Tommy Fleetwood faltered on the final day. The two players finished deadlocked on 16-under par, with Fleetwood, ruing a costly bogey on 17, and Scottie Scheffler, a shot further back. US Open champion Spaun shot one of the low rounds of the day of 65 to force his way into the playoff. A bogey on five was the only blemish as the American carded six birdies, including going back-to-back on 16 and 17. The now 45-year-old Rose got off to a slow start, making the turn at one-over-par for his round, but four birdies on the spin from holes 14 to 17 helped him surge up the leaderboard. However, the 2018 FedEx Cup champion saw a winning putt on the final green slide by. The first playoff hole would be a nail-biting replay of the 18th hole starting with Rose coming within inches of driving into the water. The experienced Ryder Cup star kept his balance to give himself a much more favourable birdie putt, but with the honour, Spaun lipped out from distance as he looked to relive his Oakmont finale. Rose, with the same putt he had in regulation, skimmed past the right hand edge yet again and the pair would head back to the tee. Again, Rose would land his approach shot inside the effort of Spaun, but more drama would follow. Spaun jarred a long-range birdie putt from accross the green to pile the pressure onto his opponent, but the experienced English golfer would follow suit and keep his hopes of a first tour win since Febraury 2023 alive. The third and final playoff hole would go the way of Justin Rose as he made a birdie three to Spaun's par four, despite a more precise approach shot from the American. The 2013 US Open champion holed a nerveless downhill left-to-right breaking putt to register his sixth birdie over the last eight holes of the tournament, piling the pressure on Spaun, who missed the follow-up to hand victory to the Englishman. CLUTCH. @JustinRose99 birdies the third playoff hole to win the first playoff event @FedExChamp. — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) August 10, 2025 Fleetwood had held the lead standing on the 71st hole, but a bogey on 17 opened the door for Rose and Spaun to sneak in ahead of him. Playing the weekend at a combined two-under-par, it was another agonising defeat for the affable English golfer who's long wait for a first ever win on US soil continues. Leaderboard Scheffler missed out on the playoff by a shot, finishing on 15-under, after a round of 67. The Texan carded five birdies and two bogeys to shoot a fourth consecutive round in the 60s. The World No. 1 remains in the lead in the season-long FedEx Cup race with two events to go. Shane Lowry shot a final round of 71 to finish in a tie for 59th place at three-over-par. The Offaly man bogeyed three of the last four holes for a frustrating finish that sees him slide outside the top 20 in FedEx Cup standings heading into the BMW Championship at Caves Valley next week, where Rory McIlroy will make his first start since The Open Championship last month.

‘If they can go home and be happy…' – Van Dijk slams Crystal Palace fans who forced Diogo Jota silence to be cut short

Arne Slot also had his say on the Wembley incident 'I'M DISAPPOINTED' 'If they can go home and be happy…' – Van Dijk slams Crystal Palace fans who forced Diogo Jota silence to be cut short ANGRY Virgil van Dijk slammed the Crystal Palace fans who forced Wembley's planned silence for Diogo Jota to be cut short. Within seconds of referee Chris Kavanagh blowing his whistle to start the minute-long tribute to the late Portuguese striker and his brother Andre, jeers from the Palace supporters reverberated. 7 Virgil van Dijk slammed the Crystal Palace supporters who made noise during the silence for Diogo Jota Credit: Reuters 7 Wembley paid tribute to Jota and his brother Andre Silva following their tragic deaths Credit: Getty While some embarrassed Eagles supporters urged their fellow fans to be quiet, it had no impact. That led to loud jeers of disgust from the Liverpool faithful at the other end of the stadium. And Kavanagh had no option other than to finish the gesture way before the scheduled end. Liverpool boss Arne Slot attempted to play down any indignation but his Anfield skipper Van Dijk went on the front foot. The Dutch defender said: 'Yeah, I'm disappointed - that's everything I'd say. 'There was plenty trying to shush it down but that didn't help - it is what it is. 'There were how many fans? 80,000 people. 'It's disappointing to hear that. "If those people can go home and be happy with themselves…' But while Van Dijk slammed Palace fans, boss Slot opted for diplomacy. SunSport's Martin Lipton gives his verdict from Wembley as Crystal Palace beat Liverpool on penalties in Community Shield He said: 'I don't think this was planned. "Maybe the fans weren't aware there was supposed to be a silence and just wanted to cheer for their team. 'The Palace fans were trying to calm them down but that made noise and then our fans reacted. 'But I don't think there was any bad intention. Fans of Palace, everywhere around the world, have paid huge respect to Diogo and Andre. 'And we will see on Friday, when Bournemouth come to our stadium, how respectful that's going to be.' Liverpool twice led thanks to goals from new signings Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong - the second a cross that looped in. But Palace battled back both times, initially through Jean-Philippe Mateta's penalty and then a fine Ismaila Sarr finish. And in the shootout, Dean Henderson was the hero as Mo Salah, Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliott failed from the spot before Justin Devenny's winning effort. 7 One Eagles fan got 'One Football Family Diogo J' with the No20 on the back of a Palace shirt Credit: TNT Sports 7 Reds fans brought banners and flags to honour Jota Credit: Getty 7 Ian Rush and Steve Parish were part of the ceremony Credit: Getty 7 Liverpool players stood to remember their former team-mate Credit: Getty

Man Utd hardman Roy Keane shows his softer side with wholesome Instagram post and nine-word message on 54th birthday

FOOTBALL hardman Roy Keane has shown off his softer side with a wholesome Instagram post. Keane was seen sunbathing on an inflatable while wearing glasses. He captioned the post: "Happy Birthday to me. All the gifts I need." And Keane's next pictures and videos showed exactly what those presents were, as Keane showed he is a big softie at heart with his grandchildren. He then shared pics of him playing alongside another of his grandchildren with the sand at the beach. The next pic showed him in the pool with two of them, with Keane all smiles as he hogged an inflatable dragon. One of his grandkids was filmed jumping in the pool next, with Keane delighting as he then picked him up and threw him up in the air. You're nothing but a breath of fresh air." A second fan added: "Imagine your grandad being Roy Keane man." Boxing coach David Coldwell said: "The main man. Happy Birthday!" A fourth fan joked: "Looking after the grandkids? That's his job." A fifth said: "Birthdays? Do me a favour." Keane has revealed he has three grandchildren, but is usually notoriously protective of his private life. The latest member of the Keane family was welcomed in April, with Keane introducing him to the public via a beaming Instagram post. His daughter, Leah, is engaged to one-cap England and Southampton star Taylor Harwood-Bellis. However, the 23-year-old has likely heeded Keane's advice and kept shtum on talking about their private lives too much. Last month, the former Republic of Ireland international was seen signing an autograph for a kid while he attended a game for his hometown team of Cork City. Keane will doubtless have plenty of chances to show off his famous barbed tongue this season when he returns to the studio as a pundit for Sky Sports. His old club, United, always seem to be in the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent years, and many would be shocked if that did not continue despite talk, once again, of the club heading in a new direction. 6 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW
