Fans of Westeros are seriously hyped for House of the Dragon Season 3. After all the crazy dragon fights and political drama in Season 2, everyone's itching to see what happens next in the Targaryen saga. The show's got that perfect mix of fire-breathing action and backstabbing family drama that keeps us glued to the screen. When's House of the Dragon Season 3 Hitting Screens?
So, when can we expect it? HBO hasn't dropped a solid date yet, but filming started in March 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios, with some scenes being shot in Wales and the Canary Islands. Since there's going to be a ton of dragon battles and big war scenes, post-production is gonna take a while — probably about a year. Season 2 filmed from April to September 2023 and premiered in June 2024, so if history repeats itself, Season 3 could show up around summer 2026. Who's Starring in House of the Dragon Season 3?
The main players are back, ready to clash in the escalating Targaryen feud. The returning cast includes: Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, fiercely chasing the Iron Throne.
Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, the wild card stirring up trouble.
Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, caught in the Green faction's web.
Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen, wrestling with his crown and grief.
Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen, the sharp-eyed dragonrider with big ambitions.
Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, plotting with cunning.
Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon, steering Team Black's ships.
Phia Saban as Helaena Targaryen, carrying her heartbreaking story forward.
Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, the Kingsguard leader fans love to hate.
Fresh faces are shaking things up, too. Newcomers include: James Norton as Ormund Hightower, a lord rallying for the Greens.
Tommy Flanagan as Ser Roderick Dustin, nicknamed Roddy the Ruin, leading the Winter Wolves.
Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly, a northern supporter of Team Black.
Tom Cullen as Ser Luthor Largent, a key figure from the books.
Joplin Sibtain as Ser 'Bold' Jon Roxton, bringing more knightly grit.
Barry Sloane as Ser Adrian Redfort, joining the battle.
Annie Shapero as Alysanne Blackwood, or Black Aly, a fierce archer slated for five episodes and maybe sparking a quiet romance with Lady Sabitha Frey.
Word on the street is that Prince Daeron Targaryen, a major book character teased in Season 2, will finally show up. Showrunner Ryan Condal has dropped hints that Daeron's moment is coming, which has book readers buzzing. What's the Story in House of the Dragon Season 3?
Season 3 jumps straight into the chaos following Season 2's finale, with the Targaryen civil war hitting fever pitch. Team Black, led by Rhaenyra, and Team Green, backing Aegon II, are ready to tear Westeros apart. Ryan Condal has called this season a 'very hot' war, promising buckets of bloodshed to answer fans who wanted more action after Season 2's slower burn.
The big draw? The Battle of the Gullet, a massive showdown on sea and in the air. It's one of the bloodiest moments in Fire & Blood , with Corlys Velaryon's fleet facing off against Tyland Lannister and Sharako Lohar's Triarchy navy. Dragons will clash, stakes will soar, and losses will hit hard. Condal says it's the 'biggest thing yet' for the show, so expect a visual feast.
Away from the battlefield, the story digs into the characters' hearts. Rhaenyra's set to get tougher, leaning into her claim with fierce resolve. Aegon II's dealing with his own demons, questioning his role as king. The shaky truce between Rhaenyra and Alicent from Season 2's end will face serious strain as their rivalry fuels the drama. There's also talk of a unique episode showing the war through a commoner's eyes, giving a fresh twist to the tale.
Drawing from Fire & Blood , the season will stick to the book's bones but add its own flavor, like Season 2's visions for Daemon or Rhaena's hunt for Sheepstealer. The Fall of King's Landing, where Rhaenyra and Daemon make a bold play for the throne, is likely to be a major moment.

‘Game Of Thrones' Star Sophie Turner Says Kiss With Co-Star Kit Harington Was ‘Vile'

Kissing one's sibling is hardly outside the realm of possibility when it comes to Game Of Thrones. Not only is this a time-honored tradition for House Targaryen—the incest-riddled House Of The Dragon hammers that point home—it's a habit picked up by two of our favorite Lannisters, Cersei and Jaime, in the main storyline. But not all siblings in Westeros would agree. According to Sansa Stark actress, Sophie Turner, kissing her former Thrones co-star, Kit Harington, in their new horror film, The Dreadful, was rather dreadful itself. Or 'vile' in Turner's words. When Turner appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers, she explained their predicament. 'So, I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back going like, 'Yeah, I'd love to, but this is going to be really ... weird, Soph,'' Turner said. 'And I was like, 'What is he talking about?' Then I was reading [the script] and it's like, 'Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…' And then I'm like, 'Oh, shoot, that's my brother.'' Harington played Sophie's bastard brother, Jon Snow, though as we learn during the course of the series (spoilers) he's actually not quite that closely related. In reality, he's the son of her aunt, Lyanna Stark, making them cousins. Nevertheless, the two co-stars share a sibling-like relationship even years after Game Of Thrones came to an end. Of course, Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen and ends up in a romantic relationship with his aunt, Daenerys Targaryen, in the final seasons of HBO's hit fantasy drama. That was always a bit awkward, given Snow was raised as a Stark with no experience in Targaryen familial relationships. 'We put it out of our minds,' Turner continued, 'and then we get on set and it's the first kissing scene, and we are both retching. Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst.' The Dreadful sounds like an interesting horror period film that has some interesting parallels to Game Of Thrones. The film takes place in the 15th century during the War of the Roses, which author George R.R. Martin loosely based his series A Song Of Ice And Fire on. Turner's character, Anne, and her mother-in-law, Morwen, 'exist on the outskirts of society when someone from their past re-enters their life.' Who that someone is remains a mystery, buy Harington plays a character named Jago—not to be confused with Jhaqo the Dothraki.

HBO Aims To Loomerize Laura Loomer Over Deposition Leak & Posts In Bill Maher Defamation Suit

Gavin Newsom wants to fight 'fire with fire' when it comes to Donald Trump and attacks on American democracy, but HBO and Bill Maher just want Laura Loomer to stop talking and posting. Good luck. More from Deadline Networks Plan Special Reports And Dispatch Anchors To Donald Trump-Vladimir Putin Summit PBS To Cut Budget By 21% Following Public Media's Loss Of Federal Funding Denée Benton Talks Being The Belle Of The Ball In 'The Gilded Age' Season 3 Finale 'It has come to Defendants' attention that after Plaintiff needlessly filed her deposition on the public docket as part of unrelated objections, a copy of the unsealed exhibit was made available on the website CourtListener,' HBO declared to Florida-based federal Judge James Moody in a filing on August 13, a couple weeks after Loomer's scorching sit-down with the outlet and Maher's lawyer Katherine Bolger and others was leaked. HBO are accusing the hot button Rumble host of stepping way over the line online with the federal courts by talking about her deposition, which was not intended to be made public. A leak that Loomer, who sued HBO and Maher for defamation and $150 million in October 2024, took the time to comment on, as HBO's Davis Wright Tremaine LLP and Shullman Fugate PLLC attorneys noted: 'Since yesterday, Plaintiff has Tweeted about this deposition three times in contravention of the Court's Order.' This all started on September 22, 2024 when Maher postulated on-air that Trump and Loomer were having a fling. Specifically, the host resurrected his who is Trump the 'f*cking' quip and replied to himself 'I think it might be Laura Loomer.' In Maher's logic, and in search of an easy laugh, that's why the far right activist had so much pull with the then GOP candidate. In her leaked deposition, which leaked online last month, Loomer says the blast radius of Trump onetime dinner companion Maher's remark left her 'smeared as a whore and as a groupie.' 'Bill Maher has no understanding of my personal life,' Loomer went on to say in the now resealed depo. 'He was reckless with the regard to the fact that I have a boyfriend. And he has no evidence that I had sex with President Trump. It's just outrageous. And so as it relates to my situation, yes, it's defamatory.' This week, in a sideshow that will likely not make it into Maher's Real Time monologue tonight, HBO want Judge Moody to shut Loomer and the leaks down. In that context, two of Loomer's tweets from August 12 directly referenced her contention in the deposition that she had been previous told by 'several of President Trump's staff have told me in confidence that Lindsey Graham is gay.' As well as hitting frequent foe Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-FL) and Arby's (won't go there, look it up), Loomer punched way up on the long time South Carolina Senator and Trump loyalist to a fault. On Thursday, Loomer's lawyer Larry Klayman essentially told HBO and Maher to take a long walk off a short legal pier. 'The tweets that Defendants reference that were made by Plaintiff Ms. Loomer actually show that she did not disclose or reveal any information in the sealed deposition,' the Judicial Watch founder said in his August 14 filing. 'Ms. Loomer simply responded innocuously to inquiries posed by persons whohad gained access to the deposition transcript through their own means. Thus, the bottom line is that she did not 'use' any of her deposition or discovery.' Klayman ends his filing popping HBO and Maher on the nose for leaning into the leaked deposition and Loomer's tweets. He calls it simply a scheme to 'drive up time, cost, and expense with a manufactured nonissue.' Reps for HBO and Bill Maher did not respond to Deadline's request for comment on the latest legal flurry. Love her, hate her, fear her, or just wish she would leave you alone, Trump's self-declared MAGA 'loyalty enforcer' Loomer has proven a power player in Trump's DC. While she has no official gig in the administration, which Loomer says is in no small part due to Maher's comments about her and Trump,, among her alleged victims so far have been National Security Council and CIA staffers, and some of RFK Jr's staff – though White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles had at least one MAHA team member rehired. On Thursday, HBO and Maher's lawyers were back in the court docket pushing Judge Moody to get Loomer and Klayman to hand over documents required for the soon-to-end discovery. They also questioned Loomer to provide some evidence of 'a single social relationship that has been harmed' by Maher's sharp statement. Perhaps more importantly, HBO and Maher want Loomer 'to identify any individual she contends was led by Defendants' statement to mistakenly believe that she and President Trump engaged in a sexual relationship.' Or put another way: 'Plaintiff argues that her sitting for a deposition somehow alleviates her of her obligation to produce responsive documents and answer interrogatories. That is not the law. Parties do not get to pick and choose which discovery vehicles they prefer to engage with.' HBO Max's ‘Looney Tunes' Purge Has Found a Sanctuary in Tubi

Looney Tunes' search for a streaming home has reached a happy ending—and some consolation after being prominently featured on HBO Max initially and then being wiped from the platform. The series has settled on Tubi, where fans can now find over 700 episodes. After being removed from the HBO Max media library back in March, the majority of the classic Looney Tunes cartoons were in limbo, but thankfully, Tubi swept in to save them. The rescue all but mirrors the prophetic algorithms-are-evil plot of Space Jam 2, where the Tunes' franchise world was being threatened with deletion off the fictional Warner 3000 streaming service. Like Jordan and LeBron, Tubi is the real MVP here! It's really neat to see the Looney Tunes be widely available on a free platform and not a paywalled streaming service; it reminds me of the accessibility of watching them for free when I was little. Looney Tunes cartoons were how I discovered classical music, slapstick heroics, and a love for animation. I'm delighted a new generation has such readily available access now too. The HBO Max original Looney Tunes Cartoons series, which began in 2020, as well as recent spin-offs such as Bugs Bunny Builders and Tiny Toons: Looniversity, are all that remain on the WB Discovery streaming service. It is also the streaming home of The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, which enjoyed a theatrical run—pulling in $15 million at the box office—after Ketchup Entertainment stepped in to give it a big-screen showcase. (Ketchup is also giving the upcoming Coyote vs. Acme its theatrical release.) This Tubi news is a win for animation and free access to the formative classics in pop culture. Truly you can never underestimate the Looney Tunes characters making a cartoony Hail Mary comeback, no matter which corporation tosses an anvil at them. Want more io9 news?
