Driver who struck car with iron rod identified
Northeast district deputy police chief Superintendent Lee Swee Sake said a 25-year-old man lodged a report about the incident.
He said the victim claimed the incident occurred at 4pm yesterday while he was driving along the road.
"We confirm that we received the report from the victim on the same day.
"The victim's car was hit by a Perodua Myvi driven by the suspect, a local man.
"The suspect then got out of the car, picked up an iron rod, and struck the rear door of the victim's vehicle," he said in a statement today.
Lee said the damage caused by the suspect resulted in an estimated loss of RM3,000 for the victim.
"The suspect has been identified and police are tracking him down to assist in the investigation.
"The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief," he said.

"The police also issue a stern warning that action will be taken against any party found to be involved in violating the law," he added. Earlier today, the Home Ministry's office alerted the public to the existence of several fake TikTok accounts impersonating Saifuddin. In a statement, the ministry said the fake accounts claimed that Saifuddin was offering financial assistance through a WhatsApp link shared in the biography section of the respective TikTok pages.
