DEFENDANTS' MISCONDUCT
Enphase develops, manufactures, and sells solar microinverters, which are primarily used in residential solar installations to convert solar panel output from direct current to alternating current (which can be transmitted to the power grid). As is relevant here, Enphase's international revenue has been growing in recent years as the Company expands globally, particularly in Europe, with international revenue accounting for more than 35% of the Company's total revenue in 2023.
Prior to the beginning of the Class Period, Chinese solar companies were significantly disrupting the European solar inverter market by selling or 'dumping' their products at extremely low prices, a fact highlighted by Morgan Stanley Research on April 24, 2023, when it reported that Chinese inverter export value increased 156% year-over-year internationally, with the Netherlands and Germany—two of Enphase's key markets in Europe—showing year-over-year surges of 342% and 330%, respectively.
The Class Period begins on April 25, 2023, when the Company announced its first quarter 2023 financial results. Among other things, Enphase reported an approximately 25% year-over-year increase in European revenue. During the accompanying quarterly investor earnings call held that same day, Defendant Badrinarayanan Kothandaraman, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, touted that Enphase's 'European business is growing rapidly,' with 'sell-through of our microinverters in Europe reach[ing] an all time high' in the quarter. When asked specifically about competition in Europe from Chinese manufacturers and the risk of margin erosion caused by price deflation from those competitors, Defendant Raghuveer Belur, a Company co-founder and the Company's Senior Vice President and Chief Products Officer, dismissed such concerns, stating that '[c]ompetition is strong everywhere' and is 'nothing new [in Europe],' while Defendant Kothandaraman claimed that Enphase does not 'see any drop in [it's] pricing.'
Investors began to learn the truth about Enphase's competitive challenges in Europe after the market closed on October 26, 2023, when the Company reported an approximately 34% quarter-over-quarter decline in European revenue in the third quarter of 2023 due to 'softening in demand.' During the accompanying quarterly investor earnings call held that same day, Defendant Kothandaraman was adamant that the Company would not adjust its pricing strategies, despite countervailing competitive market forces, emphasizing that 'there's no broad-based pricing adjustment from us.'
In response to the decline in European revenue and Defendant Kothandaraman's unwillingness to consider pricing adjustments, analysts at BofA Securities reiterated their underperform rating on the stock and criticized the Company for refusing to cut prices to pursue market share, as 'competitive risks' endured in Europe. On this news, the price of Enphase common stock declined $14.09 per share, or nearly 15%, from a close of $96.18 per share on October 26, 2023, to close at $82.09 per share on October 27, 2023.
Throughout the remainder of the Class Period, Defendants continued to downplay the competitive threats in the European solar inverter market and reassured investors that Enphase's European pricing strategy was sound.
Investors fully learned the truth about Enphase's competitive positioning in Europe after the market closed on October 22, 2024, when the Company announced its third quarter 2024 financial results and revealed an approximately 15% quarter-over-quarter decline in European revenue due to 'further softening in European demand.' During the accompanying quarterly investor earnings call held that same day, Defendant Kothandaraman was again asked whether, in light of the Company's weakness in Europe, Enphase would alter its pricing strategy. While he acknowledged that the Company had occasionally made customer-specific price concessions, Defendant Kothandaraman reiterated that 'we are not dropping pricing anywhere,' despite prevailing competitive headwinds.
In response to Enphase's continued poor performance in Europe, Guggenheim downgraded Enphase stock to a sell rating from a neutral rating and explained that Enphase is 'losing share to Chinese competitors who are willing to sell at less than half [Enphase]'s level.' On this news, the price of Enphase common stock declined $13.76 per share, or nearly 15%, from a close of $92.23 per share on October 22, 2024, to close at $78.47 per share on October 23, 2024.
WHAT CAN I DO?
Enphase investors may, no later than February 11, 2025, move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff for the class, through Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP or other counsel, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member. Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP encourages Enphase investors who have suffered significant losses to contact the firm directly to acquire more information.
WHO CAN BE A LEAD PLAINTIFF?
A lead plaintiff is a representative party who acts on behalf of all class members in directing the litigation. The lead plaintiff is usually the investor or small group of investors who have the largest financial interest and who are also adequate and typical of the proposed class of investors. The lead plaintiff selects counsel to represent the lead plaintiff and the class and these attorneys, if approved by the court, are lead or class counsel. Your ability to share in any recovery is not affected by the decision of whether or not to serve as a lead plaintiff.

5 Important Takeaways From SoFi's Blowout Earnings Report

Key Points SoFi reported earnings that handily beat expectations on both the top and bottom lines. The loan platform business is generating an impressive stream of fee income. SoFi's asset quality is improving, with the net charge-off ratio declining by more than 40 basis points. 10 stocks we like better than SoFi Technologies › SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) recently reported its second-quarter earnings, and the stock soared to a multiyear high. Not only were the numbers generally stronger than analysts had been looking for, but the company also is growing in all the right ways and has big plans. With that in mind, here are some of the key takeaways from SoFi's earnings report that you need to know, and what to keep an eye on. 1. Growth momentum isn't slowing down In the second quarter, revenue growth was 44% year over year, an acceleration over its prior rate. The company grew its membership base by 34% year over year, adding 846,000 new members, the highest single-quarter total ever. 2. Capital-light revenue streams are strong SoFi has been a personal lender for years, but the recent focus has been on the loan platform business, which consists of several capital-light streams of fee income. In addition to securitizing loans and selling them to investors, the company has been originating a high volume of loans on behalf of third parties and referring applicants to other lending partners. Its loan platform is generating high-margin fee income at a rate of more than $500 million annually on a run rate of $9.5 billion in loan originations. Fee-based revenue now makes up 44% of the company's total, compared with 27% a couple of years ago, and this shift is a big reason for SoFi's surprisingly strong profitability. Noninterest income roughly quadrupled year over year, and the loan platform business has been the primary driver. 3. Profits are better than expected Not only did SoFi produce better-than-expected profitability in the second quarter, but the company also reported its highest earnings per share (EPS) ever. It produced an 11% adjusted net margin, and adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) increased 80% year over year. And management raised its full-year 2025 guidance for all major profitability metrics and now expects EPS to more than double from 2024 levels. 4. Asset quality is improving SoFi's loan net charge-off rate ticked higher in 2023 but it has been in a clear downward trend for nearly two years. Since it peaked at 3.98% in late 2023, the net charge-off rate for personal loans has declined to 2.83%, including a 48-basis-point sequential drop in the most recent quarter. 5. More than personal loans SoFi is well known for its personal loan business, and for good reason. But the company also originates student loans and home loans, and I'd argue that these are underappreciated growth drivers. In the second quarter, student loan volume grew by 35%, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it accelerate in the second half of the year, since more pandemic-era federal student loan protections have expired recently. For example, borrowers whose loans are in limbo as the SAVE repayment plan makes its way through the legal system just recently saw interest start accumulating on their student loans again. Perhaps most exciting is the fintech's home loan business, which grew volume by more than 90% year over year despite a slow real estate market and persistent high interest rates. There's a lot of pent-up demand for home purchases as well as for refinancing and home equity lines of credit, and if mortgage rates fall, this could become a big business. What to watch The second half of 2025 could be an exciting time for SoFi. The Federal Reserve is widely expected to resume interest rate cuts, and this could help lower the company's deposit cost. Also, management is bringing back cryptocurrency trading before the end of the year and has other big plans to integrate cryptocurrency and blockchain technology throughout its platform. Along with its earnings report, SoFi announced a plan to raise $1.5 billion in fresh capital by selling new common stock. With plenty of growth opportunities, this could help take its business to the next level. Should you invest $1,000 in SoFi Technologies right now? Nvidia Secures Licenses to Export H20 Chips to China. Will this Drive NVDA Stock Higher?

The U.S. Commerce Department has started issuing licenses to semiconductor company Nvidia (NVDA) to export its H20 chips to China. The news was first reported by the Financial Times. NVDA stock, which has advanced more than 14% over the past month and 36% year-to-date, is expected to move higher on this development, as it removes a major hurdle for the company in one of its key markets. The news comes after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reportedly met U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! H20 Chip Exports Expected to Boost Nvidia's Revenue Nvidia had developed the H20 chip for the Chinese market following the export controls imposed by the Biden administration on more advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips. In April 2025, the Trump administration took a tougher stance by deciding that Nvidia would not be allowed to sell the H20 chips to China. However, Trump reversed his stance after a meeting with CEO Huang. The resumption of H20 shipments to China is expected to be very beneficial for Nvidia, as it is a key market for the chip company. Nvidia had earlier warned that the H20 chip export ban would adversely impact its July quarter sales by $8 billion. In May, the company said that the H20 chips generated $4.6 billion in sales in the first quarter, with revenue from China accounting for 12.5% of its overall revenue. Nvidia Stock Could Trend Higher Ahead of Q2 Earnings The news that Nvidia has been granted licenses for H20 chip exports to China could drive NVDA stock higher. The stock has gained momentum due to several positives, including continued demand for its GPUs amid the ongoing AI wave and the launch of OpenAI's GPT-5, which is expected to benefit Nvidia's chip sales. Also, Tesla's (TSLA) decision to shut down its custom-built AI training supercomputer Dojo team is being seen as a positive for Nvidia. Nvidia is scheduled to announce its results for the second quarter of Fiscal 2026 on August 27. Wall Street expects Nvidia to report earnings per share (EPS) of $1, reflecting a 47% year-over-year growth. Revenue is projected to rise by 52.3% to $45.7 billion. Is NVDA Stock a Good Buy? With solid AI tailwinds and the lifting of the H20 chip export restrictions to China, Wall Street has a Strong Buy consensus rating on Nvidia stock based on 34 Buys, three Holds, and one Sell recommendation. The average NVDA stock price target of $186.24 indicates 1.9% upside potential from current levels.
