LIV Golf LIV Golf Indianapolis: Jon Rahm Shoots 60, Claims Individual Championship Published Aug. 17, 2025 5:12 p.m. ET share facebook x reddit link WESTFIELD, Ind. – In the final round at LIV Golf Indianapolis, Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm chased down Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann to become the 2025 season-long Individual Champion. Rahm's stellar 11-under 60, his lowest round of the season, got him into a playoff with Sebastián Muñoz for the event title, which Muñoz won on the first playoff hole. But it wasn't enough to keep Rahm from claiming the season-long Individual Championship. Rahm has now finished the season at the top of the standings in both of his seasons with LIV Golf. Muñoz, who on Friday shot the first 59 in professional golf history that included a double-bogey, shot a final round 6-under 65 before winning the playoff. Despite having five wins this season, Niemann came up short in the season-long race against Rahm. Niemann shot a 5-under 66, which wasn't quite enough to fend off Rahm's thunderous charge. Torque GC earned their first team victory since LIV Golf Greenbrier in 2023. The team shot a cumulative score of 64-under for the week, which was the lowest overall team score in LIV Golf history, beating the previous record of 53-under. ADVERTISEMENT Throughout the final round, Majesticks GC co-captains Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter, as well as HyFlyers GC teammates Andy Ogletree and Brendan Steele, and Mito Pereira of Torque competed fiercely in the relegation race. Ultimately, Stenson, Ogletree, and Pereira could not climb out of the Drop Zone and now face relegation from the LIV Golf League for 2026. Poulter surged with birdies on four of his final five holes at LIV Golf Indianapolis, narrowly escaping the Drop Zone. His late charge, however, pushed his teammate Stenson into the dreaded relegation zone. TEAM SCORES LIV Golf's new scoring format this season now involves all four scores now counting in every round in the team competition. Malik Nabers, still not practicing with Giants, reportedly dealing with minor back issue
Malik Nabers is still not practicing with the New York Giants. The star wide receiver has not practiced in 11 days and missed the team's 31-12 preseason win over the New York Jets. Though the Giants have been relatively quiet about his injury, he's apparently dealing with a 'minor back problem,' according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] It was described as 'normal camp tightness,' but it's unclear when Nabers will be back to full strength. The Giants have just one full practice this week ahead of their preseason finale against the New England Patriots on Thursday. 'Not going to get into any injuries,' head coach Brian Daboll said last week, via ESPN. '[Nabers is] working hard to get back.' While specifics of his back issues aren't yet known, Nabers does have a decent amount of time to be ready for the team's season-opener against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 7. Considering he hasn't practiced in nearly two weeks now, the Giants likely won't try to rush him back in the preseason. The injury is the latest that Nabers has dealt with in the offseason. He had a toe injury that limited him this spring, and he went down with a minor shoulder injury earlier this summer. Nabers had 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns on 109 catches last season during his rookie campaign with the Giants, who selected him with the No. 6 overall pick out of LSU. The Giants went just 3-14, however, and ended up moving on from quarterback Daniel Jones during the season. The Giants are now planning to start veteran Russell Wilson this fall, who they acquired with a one-year deal earlier this summer. While Nabers and Wilson haven't had much of a chance to work together on the field recently, Nabers should undoubtedly be Wilson's top target this fall. Whether the duo can turn the Giants' offense around after what's been a pretty rough stretch, however, remains to be seen.
