Former Celtics Co-Owner Jim Pallotta Lists His Sprawling Massachusetts Estate for $38 Million

Yahoo8 hours ago

When you've spent nearly two decades building the perfect family sanctuary—one that doubles as the private playground for a former NBA team co-owner—it's not easy to say goodbye.
But that's exactly what Jim Pallotta and his wife, Kim, are doing. Their nearly 20-acre estate and its sprawling 21,000-square-foot mansion in Weston, Massachusetts, a masterpiece of modern grandeur with a dash of English country charm, just hit the market for a whopping $38 million with Mark Doherty of The Sarkis Team at Douglas Elliman and Maggie Gold Seelig of MGS Group Real Estate.

Jim, a co-owner and executive board member of the Boston Celtics from 2002 to 2020, and Kim have called their Ash Street spread home since 2006. But now that their two sons have flown the coop, the couple admits the custom-built abode is simply 'too big' for just the two of them, they told The Wall Street Journal. Their plan? To live a tri-coastal lifestyle, splitting time between their other homes in Nantucket, Miami, and Charleston, South Carolina.

The Pallottas' compound is a rare gem in this prestigious Boston suburb. Designed by Connecticut's Shope Reno Wharton to evoke an English country estate, the home blends classic architectural details with a ton of modern amenities. Think soaring ceilings, intricate moldings, and sun-drenched rooms.
At the heart of the main floor is a chef's dream kitchen featuring two large islands, a pizza oven, and a cozy fireplace. The expansive layout also includes multiple formal and informal entertaining spaces, two offices, a guest suite, and a screened porch with a fireplace and built-in grill.

Upstairs, the palatial primary suite is a retreat within a retreat, sporting dual dressing rooms, a spa-like bathroom, a private sitting area, and an upstairs office. Four additional bedroom suites and a second-floor family room provide plenty of space for guests and kids coming home to visit. Meanwhile, the walk-out lower level is a bona fide entertainment hub, complete with a theater, gym, billiards room, gaming lounge, bar, and wine cellar.
Outside, the resort-style grounds reveal why this estate is truly one of a kind. A sparkling pool with a pool house (full kitchen and bath included), a basketball court, and an oversized four-car garage complete the picture. But perhaps the most delightfully unique feature is the room dedicated to Kim's extensive collection of antique Santa Claus figurines—an homage to holiday cheer that transforms the house into a winter wonderland each year, The Journal reported.
While the $38 million price tag narrows the field of potential buyers, this estate is poised to set a new record as the most expensive home ever sold in Weston.Best of Robb Report

What routes can the Philadelphia 76ers take in the 2025 NBA Draft?

What routes can the Philadelphia 76ers take in the 2025 NBA Draft? The Philadelphia 76ers hold the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA draft and they have a handful of routes they can go down in order to build a roster that can challenge the Indiana Pacers for the Eastern Conference crown in the 2025-26 season. The Sixers are in a peculiar position. President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey and his staff are committed to building with the Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey leading the way. However, this roster needs some youth. Embiid is getting older and there is still the question mark of how he will look when the 2025-26 season rolls around when considering he is recovering from yet another knee surgery. With that being said, here are the routes the Sixers can go in for the draft: Make a selection at No. 3 and call it a day There are plenty of players worthy of this selection at No. 3 for Philadelphia. The Sixers can look at guys like Rutgers star Ace Bailey or Baylor's VJ Edgecombe as the top options, while Duke's duo of Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach makes sense for this group. Texas' Tre Johnson can make a case for being selected as well. Either way, the Sixers will be adding a young piece at the top of the draft with star potential as every player mentioned has skills that will translate to the next level. At this point--a huge emphasis on at this point--it appears Edgecombe will be the pick for Philadelphia if it stays at No. 3. With that being said, all of those players have their flaws. One has to wonder if the Sixers will have time to develop those young pieces while also having their eyes on competing for a championship while the window is still open. Championship windows are only open for so long in the NBA and Philadelphia's is being held open by duct tape at the moment. The idea of developing a young player while also competing for a title doesn't go hand in hand--although the Oklahoma City Thunder are currently showing it is entirely possible to do both. Trading down and acquiring a win-now player This seems like the most logical choice for the Sixers. A team like the New Orleans Pelicans would be an ideal trade partner as they possess some players who would be more helpful on teams looking to win a championship rather than a rebuilding one like New Orleans at the moment. Herb Jones immediately comes to mind. He only played 20 games in the 2024-25 season as he had a bit of a setback, but his 2023-24 production was marvelous and fits exactly what the Sixers are looking for in terms of somebody who does the little things and helps a team win in the big moments. Jones shot 41.8% from deep in 2023-24 while finishing fifth in the Defensive Player of the Year voting and being named First Team All-Defense. A swap for the No. 3 and No. 7 picks, Jones heading to Philadelphia, and Kelly Oubre Jr. heading to the Pelicans would be helpful in both the short and long term. Bridging the roster to the future Morey has been on record saying he and the Sixers expect Embiid to return to the floor and look like his dominant self. However, while Embiid has proven resilient and has been one of the best players in the league in recent years--he did win MVP in 2023, after all--it's fair to question that statement by Morey. He has had two surgeries on that left knee in a span of 14 months. He is human, at the end of the day, and one has to wonder just how much he has left in the tank. Therefore, Morey and the front office could begin looking ahead to the future. They could trade down, with a team like the Washington Wizards, for example, and offer up No. 3 for picks No. 6 and 18. This would bring in more young pieces to the roster and begin looking ahead to the next era of Sixers basketball. This would be only if the front office is having second thoughts on Embiid, which it looks like they don't, but it's still something to think about.

Latest ESPN NBA Mock Draft has Jase Richardson landing just outside lottery

Latest ESPN NBA Mock Draft has Jase Richardson landing just outside lottery The NBA Draft is just over a week away so where will Michigan State star Jase Richardson land? ESPN's latest mock draft suggests it'll be just outside of the lottery. ESPN released an updated NBA Mock Draft on Tuesday, which pegged Richardson to be selected just outside of the lottery. This latest mock draft from ESPN has Richardson going No. 16 overall to the Memphis Grizzlies -- who just acquired this pick from the Orlando Magic in a trade. Jonathan Givony had this to say about Richardson and the Grizzlies pairing: "The Grizzlies are exactly the type of team that could be interested in an ultra-efficient, productive young prospect such as Richardson, who rates highly in draft models that analytics-savvy teams like Memphis often pay attention to. "Richardson possesses an excellent feel for the game, hit 41% of his 3-pointers this season, brings strong defensive intensity and looks adept at playing off the star power of a teammate like Ja Morant, whose future in Memphis is to be determined. As Richardson's shot-creation diversity and offensive aggressiveness evolve, he could be someone who eventually inherits more significant ballhandling responsibilities, if the Grizzlies decide to pivot toward a youth movement." Richardson has widely been considered a fringe-lottery pick after starring for the Spartans in his lone season in college. He averaged 12.1 points per game and shot above 40% from three-point range, which quickly turned him into an NBA first round projection. The NBA Draft will be held on June 25 and 26, with the first round taking place on Wednesday and second round on Thursday. The draft will be televised on ABC and ESPN. Jobe Bellingham's quiet start at Dortmund

This Tuesday, Jobe Bellingham celebrated his debut with Dortmund against Fluminense in the Club World Cup. A first outing in a mixed performance. Recently recruited, the younger brother of Jude Bellingham made his debut in a delicate context, as the German club struggled to convince in its entry into the Club World Cup. A look back at this first performance without relief. A discreet entrance Introduced in the 59th minute in place of Pascal Groß, Jobe Bellingham had the mission to bring a new breath to a Borussia Dortmund in difficulty. Unfortunately, despite a perceptible desire, the young midfielder was unable to change the dynamic of the match. He mainly played simple, chaining lateral passes without really bringing an offensive impact. His performance, although correct overall, remained very sober. A match without relief for Dortmund The match ended with a 0-0 score. Dortmund did not frame a single shot in the first half, leaving the initiative to Fluminense. Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel was one of the few to stand out, preventing the Brazilians from opening the score. Bellingham's entry was not enough to revive a generally passive and uninspired German team. In adaptation phase Arrived barely a week ago, Jobe Bellingham is still in adaptation phase within the squad. His integration into Niko Kovač's playing system will take time, and it will probably be necessary to wait before seeing his true potential expressed. At 19 years old, he still has a beautiful margin for progression. This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence.
