French Open women's semifinal: Live updates, highlights as Coco Gauff, Iga Świątek seek finals rematch
The 2025 French Open field is rapidly narrowing, with the women's semifinals slated for Thursday, June 4 from the Roland-Garros Stadium in Paris, France.
In the first match of the day, No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will take on No. 5 Iga Świątek in pursuit of a trip to the final. Świątek is seeking her fourth consecutive win of the women's singles event at the French Open (and fifth overall). She defeated No. 13 Elina Svitolina 6-1, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

Sabalenka, meanwhile — the world's top-ranked women's singles player — is seeking her first trip to the French Open finals after making the semifinals in both 2021 and 2023 without advancing. A win in this tournament would mark her fourth Grand Slam victory of her career, having last won the 2024 US Open and 2024 Australian Open. Sabalenka has yet to drop a set this tournament, most recently defeating No. 8 Q.W. Zheng in the quarterfinals, and is currently favored at -135 odds over Swiatek (+110) to advance to the final, via BetMGM.
No. 2 seed Coco Gauff and hometown underdog Lois Boisson will take the clay in the second semifinal match of the day, set for 10:10 a.m. ET. Gauff, 21, is seeking her first singles title of the year and second-ever Grand Slam title, having won the US Open back in 2023. She dropped her first set of the tournament to fellow American, No. 7 Madison Keys, in the quarterfinals, eventually advancing to the semis after a 6-7(6) 6-4, 6-1 run.
Boisson, 22, is competing in her first career Grand Slam, holding a world ranking of No. 361 heading into this tournament. By advancing to the semifinals, she became the first woman to make the semis in her first Grand Slam since Jennifer Capriati in the 1990 French Open, Tennis365 notes. Gauff is heavily favored to advance to the French Open women's final, with odds at -475 on BetMGM, compared to Boisson at +350.
