Brigade Hotel Ventures' India IPO fully subscribed on second day of bids
Total bids matched the shares on offer, a fresh issue, exchange data showed as of 1:28pm local time.
Shares of the hotel operator, which is aiming for a valuation of around US$397 million, are slated to list on July 31, Thursday.
India's hotel operators are cashing in on the surge in travel, as both business and leisure trips rebound across the country.
Fueling the momentum is a wave of wealthy Indians spending big on luxury, not just on stays, but on cars, apartments, designer watches and even upscale bathrooms.
Hospitality firms such as ITC Hotels and Leela-owner Schloss Bangalore have made a beeline for public markets over the past two years, betting on sustained demand for premium experiences.
Brigade Hotel Ventures first filed for an IPO in October with an offer size of 9 billion rupees, with the trimmed IPO size coming after a partial debt repayment and pre-IPO fundraises.
The firm runs nine hotels across five Indian cities, partnering with Marriott, Accor and IHG in the mid-to-upscale segments.

DOHA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- As midsummer heat scorches the streets of Doha, an air-conditioned covered square at Souq Waqif -- one of Doha's oldest heritage landmarks -- offers not only respite from the blazing sun but also a glimpse into the transformation of Qatar's agricultural sector. Beneath the tent at the 10th Local Dates Festival, rows of rutab (freshly harvested dates) are stacked high, showcasing the progress of local farming. The annual festival, running from July 24 to Aug. 7 and featuring 116 farms from across the country, reflects the rapid growth of the event since its inaugural edition in 2016, with just 19 participants. "It has truly become a yearly tradition," said Adel Zain Alkaldi Alyafei, assistant director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality. He highlighted the anticipation among residents and citizens in Qatar who eagerly await the festival. "By June, people are already asking: When is the rutab festival?" he added. The total sales from last year's edition exceeded 240 tonnes, nearly 10 times the output when the event first began, indicating Qatar's broader agricultural transformation, particularly in the production of rutab. The achievement is impressive given Qatar's challenging geography. Located in a tropical desert zone, Qatar contends with extreme heat, limited rainfall, and scarce arable land. According to the Ministry of Municipality, Qatar now meets more than 75 percent of its domestic dates demand through local production, a major milestone in its drive toward food security and self-sufficiency. Key to this turnaround has been sustained government support. The ministry provides agricultural inputs such as fertilizers and pest control permits, along with logistical services. Just as crucial are exclusive marketing channels like the local dates festival, which allow farmers to sell directly to consumers. "This festival is considered a marketing outlet for farm owners to sell their local products without any competition," said Alyafei. "Everything inside this tent is local produce." For many people, particularly in Arab countries, dates are more than a summer fruit due to their nutritional value, being rich in fiber, potassium, and antioxidants, as well as their deep cultural and religious significance for Muslims. Dates are especially favored during Ramadan as they are traditionally eaten to break the fast, often accompanied by water or milk. Visitors to the festival praised the variety and quality on offer. "We have tasted and purchased all the varieties available in the exhibition. We liked them all, and we advise everyone in Qatar to visit," said one Indian family. Another visitor, Ahmed Al-Masri, added, "My family and I wait for this rutab festival every year. We buy for ourselves and send to our families. We prefer the Qatari local dates as they are always fresh and sweet." The festival also aligns with Qatar's National Food Security Strategy 2030, which aims to promote sustainable agriculture, reduce reliance on imports, and strengthen local food systems.

US Treasury chief says trade talks with China to continue this week in Sweden
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that he would meet his Chinese counterparts in Sweden this week to continue trade talks between the two countries, suggesting the current pause in sky-high tariffs aimed at each other could be extended. Bessent told Fox Business that he would speak with Chinese officials on Monday and Tuesday for a third round of high-level talks in Stockholm – following face-to-face discussions he held with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Geneva and London – to work out a likely extension of the pause beyond mid-August. Beijing has yet to confirm the Stockholm talks, but Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in a post on X on Tuesday that his country would play host to the US-China negotiations next week. After US President Donald Trump's announcement of 'reciprocal' tariffs on April 2, Washington and Beijing raised punitive levies on each other's exports to triple-digit percentage levels. Since then, trade relations have thawed somewhat as the countries have engaged in talks, marked by a June telephone call between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. On Monday Bessent said that the talks were 'in a good place', a sanguine take on negotiations echoed by Beijing's embassy in Washington, which said 'new progress' had been made in resolving each other's economic and trade concerns. Separately on Tuesday, Trump told reporters that Xi has invited him to visit Beijing and that he would accept. He added that exports of rare earth and magnets to the US may no longer be a thorny issue. 'President Xi has invited me to China, and we'll probably be doing that in the not too distant future, a little bit out, but not too distant. And I've been invited by a lot of people, and we'll make those decisions pretty soon,' he said during a meeting in the Oval Office with Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jnr. 'We have a very good relationship. In fact, the magnets, which is a little complex piece of material, but the magnets are coming out very well. They're sending them in record numbers. We're getting along with China very well,' said Trump. In a possible signal of improving ties, China's market administration watchdog said earlier on Tuesday that it had suspended its anti-trust probe into American multinational chemical company DuPont. Beijing launched its investigation into DuPont in early April, after Trump began slapping new levies on Chinese goods. Bessent said on Monday that he hoped to raise in future talks the issue of China's purchases of Russian and Iranian oil. China observers said that Beijing would oppose Washington's bid to link tariff talks to Chinese relations with US adversaries. 'Beijing sees its ties and transactions with Russia and Iran as just and fair and conforms to international laws and may be unlikely to make compromises for the sake of US lowering tariffs,' said Xin Qiang, an international studies professor at Fudan University in Shanghai. 'Beijing is mindful not to fall into the trap as US uses tariffs to pursue its geopolitical agenda.' During the Fox Business interview Bessent also mentioned his expectations for China's government to rein in manufacturing overcapacity and launch structural adjustments to stimulate domestic consumption to benefit American manufacturing. Anwar will be accompanied by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Abang Openg; Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor; Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan; Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail; Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz; Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.
