Sustainability has been part of IOIPG's development approach since launch, advocating for the conservation of the environment for a sustainable future.
Aside from green-certified commercial and residential projects such as IOI City Mall and IOI City Towers 1 and 2 in IOI Resort City, as well as COVO, its first transit-oriented development in 16 Sierra, Puchong South, the group also organises frequent public engagement and awareness events such as its Waste to Treasure recycling campaign, IOIPG City Nature Challenge, Earth Hour and biodiversity walks, among others.
'More and more, investors, homeowners and upgraders are not just looking for properties, but responsible investments that take into account the needs of future generation.
'We are here to address this market gap for sustainable homes, as your trusted property partner,' added Lee.

E-invoicing and LPG usage reprieves averted a possible micro-business crisis, says group

PETALING JAYA: Exempting businesses with annual sales below RM500,000 will spare small traders, hawkers and family-run shops from compliance burdens, says the Small and Medium Enterprises Association (Samenta). Its president Datuk William Ng said such burdens could force these businesses to either shut down or operate informally. ALSO READ: Govt to review e-Invoicing to avoid burdening small firms, says PM 'We have provided input on both issues, and we are grateful that the government has shown genuine care and support for our most vulnerable enterprises,' he said in a statement on Friday (June 6). 'Similarly, the postponement of e-invoicing requirements for businesses earning below RM5mil to Jan 1 next year gives small and medium enterprises (SME) the breathing space they need to prepare, upskill and adapt. 'This flexibility is what SMEs need to survive and thrive in a changing economic landscape,' he added. ALSO READ: E-invoicing put on hold if sales below RM500k On Thursday (June 5), the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) announced that the implementation phase of e-invoicing for taxpayers with annual income or sales exceeding RM1mil but not exceeding RM5mil has been postponed to Jan 1,. LHDN also announced that taxpayers with an annual income or sales below RM500,000 are exempted from the e-Invoice system. The implementation phase for taxpayers with annual income or sales up to RM1mil has also been postponed to July 1 next year. ALSO READ: Small-scale food traders exempt from LPG enforcement until October Ng said these exemptions are not only timely but reflect an understanding of the real challenges faced by small businesses on the ground. On the waiving of enforcement action against the use of subsidised liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by small food operators, Ng said it would go a long way towards safeguarding the daily livelihoods of thousands of families and small traders. 'It may be a small administrative change, but it carries significant implications for business continuity and the cost of living. ALSO READ: Focus on subsidised LPG smuggling, large-scale abuse not petty traders, hawkers, says Dr Wee 'The government's proactive stance has averted what could have become a national micro-business crisis, and for that, we are sincerely thankful,' he added. On Thursday, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said food traders will not be subjected to any enforcement action over the use of subsidised gas until October, nor will they require a permit for using more than 42kg of gas at a time. The Control of Supplies (Amendment) Regulations 2021, which came into force on Oct 15, 2021, limit the use of subsidised LPG to a maximum of 42kg at any one time for commercial purposes. Those exceeding this limit must obtain a Scheduled Controlled Goods Permit and only use non-subsidised LPG.

RHB keeps healthcare sector 'Overweight' on strong growth outlook

KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Investment Bank Bhd (RHB Research) has maintained its 'Overweight' rating on Malaysia's healthcare sector, citing strong earnings prospects driven by demographic trends, expansion plans, and supportive government policy. In a note, the firm emphasised a long-term structural shift in healthcare demand, driven by Malaysia's ageing population. However, it warned of downside risks from higher-than-expected operating costs, lower-than-expected patient traffic, revenue intensity growth, and regulatory changes. "We expect the private healthcare sector to book stronger numbers on a quarter-on-quarter basis in the second quarter of 2025, due to the shorter festive period," RHB said in its latest sector update. RHB remains bullish on KPJ Healthcare, supported by strong earnings quality and strategic hospital upgrades. "KPJ's key growth drivers should be supported by its solid turnaround – room for margin improvement from hospitals under gestation and asset optimisation, as well as its plan to designate five centres of excellence, focusing on heart and lungs, neurology, oncology, orthopaedics, and advanced surgery. "Newly opened KPJ Kuala Selangor Specialist Hospital is on track to onboard new payers and third-party administrators by the third quarter of 2025, as management expects this facility to be earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation positive within a year," the firm added. Meanwhile, RHB also highlighted IHH Healthcare's (IHH) ongoing expansion efforts, which include adding 4,000 new beds by 2028 through greenfield and brownfield projects. "We continue to like IHH due to its solid execution, reputable regional footprint across key regions from strong brand awareness, the inelastic nature of demand for healthcare services, and its focus on affluent clients, which provides earnings resiliency," it said. Current key projects include the Glenagles Hospital in Kuching with 200 beds, targeted for completion by the second quarter of 2028, and the Mount Elizabeth Hospital expansion with 56 rooms, scheduled for completion in the second half of this year. RHB further expects steady growth from pharma player Duopharma Biotech (DBB), supported by its strong ethical speciality product segment and new contracts under the Health Ministry's approved product list. "We maintain DBB should still book strong growth in the first half of 2025. Meanwhile, its margin should improve sequentially, aided by the normalisation of active pharmaceutical ingredient prices and the strengthening of the Malaysian ringgit vs the US dollar. "We are upbeat on the government's decision to abort its diagnostic-related groups plan for private hospitals, and the removal of this regulatory overhang should boost valuations. "We prefer domestic-centric names, since players with significant overseas exposure may still face headwinds, largely from inflationary and geopolitical uncertainties," it noted.

SMEs hail e-Invoicing exemption as major relief

KUALA LUMPUR: The government's decision to permanently exempt small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from mandatory e-invoicing requirements is a "huge relief" for the small traders, the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (Samenta) said. The association praised the move, particularly the permanent exemption for micro-enterprises, the extended implementation timeline for SMEs, and the temporary waiver of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) permit requirements for small food and beverage (F&B) traders. Its national president, Datuk William Ng, said the exemptions are not only timely but also reflect an understanding of the real challenges faced by small businesses on the ground. "We have provided input on both issues, and we are grateful that the government has shown genuine care and support for our most vulnerable enterprises," he said in a statement. The government has permanently exempted businesses earning below RM500,000 annually from the e-invoicing mandate. Ng said the exemption spares the smallest traders, hawkers and family-run shops, many operating without digital infrastructure, from compliance burdens that could have forced them to shut down or operate informally. Meanwhile, the postponement of e-invoicing requirements for businesses earning below RM5 million to Jan 1 next year provides SMEs the breathing space they need to prepare, upskill and adapt. Ng noted that the LPG permit temporary waiver, although a small administrative change, has significant implications for business continuity and the cost of living. He said the government's proactive stance has averted what could have become a national micro-business crisis. Under the earlier implementation schedule, businesses with annual revenues between RM500,000 and RM25 million were required to adopt e-invoicing by July 1, 2025, while those earning below RM500,000 were slated to comply by January 1, 2026. The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), in a recent statement, said the revised decision was made in recognition of the commitments faced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in complying with e-invoicing regulations that need sufficient time and face various implementation challenges.
