Houthi Leader Calls on Yemenis to Donate 100 Yemeni Riyals to Support Naval Forces

Houthi Leader Calls on Yemenis to Donate 100 Yemeni Riyals to Support Naval Forces

Yemen Online17-03-2025

Sana'a – Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, leader of Yemen's Houthi movement, has called on citizens to donate 100 Yemeni riyals ( 0,41 USD) per person to support the group's naval forces.
In a televised speech, Al-Houthi stated that the campaign aims to enhance naval capabilities in light of what he described as 'military challenges and U.S. escalation in the region'. He emphasized that public support would contribute to sustaining the confrontation and protecting Yemen's maritime sovereignty.
Controversy Over the Call
The appeal has sparked mixed reactions among Yemenis. While some see it as an added burden amid a severe economic crisis affecting most citizens, Houthi supporters consider it a necessary step to strengthen naval defenses amid rising regional tensions.
This is not the first time the Houthis have launched fundraising campaigns to support their forces. The group has previously called on Yemenis to make financial and material contributions under the banners of resistance support and military capability enhancement.
Escalating Tensions
This development comes as clashes between the Houthis and the United States intensify, with U.S. forces escalating airstrikes on Houthi positions in Yemen in response to Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
As of now, there have been no official reports on the level of public response to the donation call. However, it is expected that the Houthis will continue their mobilization and fundraising efforts in the coming period.

Death Toll of Palestinians rises to 33 amid continued Israeli Aggression Across Gaza

Gaza – SABA: The number of Palestinians martyred since early Monday in the Gaza Strip has risen to 33 due to ongoing Israeli attacks across various areas, as part of the genocide campaign launched on October 7, 2023. In the latest assault, five Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli forces bombed a populated house belonging to the Al-Nadeem family in central Gaza City, according to a medical source. Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that several victims remain trapped under the rubble, while civil defense teams are working with extremely limited resources to rescue them. Earlier, three Palestinians were killed and others wounded when Israel targeted the upper floor of Al-Aisha School, which was sheltering displaced people in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza. The same source reported that the death toll from an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Barsh family home in Jabalia, northern Gaza, has risen from 9 to 16. The bodies of the victims were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza and Al-Baptist Hospital in the east. Additionally, one Palestinian woman was martyred and others injured in an Israeli strike on the Junaid family home in Jabalia. Earlier Monday, four Palestinians were martyred and several others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting civilians near Abu Sharakh roundabout in northern Gaza. In central Gaza, one Palestinian was martyred and two others critically injured in an Israeli strike on a municipal vehicle in Al-Bureij. Eyewitnesses said the martyr was a municipal employee. No official statement has been issued by the municipality. Two fishermen were also injured by Israeli gunfire while working on the Gaza City coast. At dawn Monday, three Palestinians were martyred by Israeli gunfire while attempting to collect 'aid' near a U.S.-operated distribution center west of Rafah City. Dozens of others were injured by Israeli gunfire near the same center, which is managed by an American company with Israeli approval. One Palestinian, injured by Israeli fire while attempting to collect aid west of Rafah, died from his wounds on Sunday, according to the same medical source. Away from UN and international humanitarian supervision, Israel began on May 27 implementing a controversial aid distribution scheme through the so-called 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,' backed by Israeli and American entities. Distribution occurs in so-called 'buffer zones' in southern Gaza, but the plan appears to be failing due to overwhelming crowds of starving civilians and repeated Israeli gunfire on the gathered crowds, resulting in deaths and injuries. Since last Tuesday, the total number of victims at these 'aid distribution points' has reached 52 martyrs and 340 injured, with Israeli forces reportedly turning the sites into 'mass killing traps,' according to the Gaza Government Media Office and Health Ministry data as of midday Monday. Meanwhile, Israel intensified its nighttime air and artillery bombardments on various parts of Gaza, especially in the north and east of Gaza City. Eyewitnesses reported the continued demolition of residential buildings in eastern Gaza City, northern governorate areas, and east of Khan Younis in the south. They also confirmed that Israeli forces destroyed 'Al-Ansar Mosque' in Deir al-Balah after targeting it with three missiles. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Jordanian Foreign Ministry condemns Zionist Settlers' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Amman – SABA: The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist settlers, along with the provocative and unacceptable practices that accompanied it, which aim to desecrate the mosque. The ministry described these actions as a blatant violation of international law and the established historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its holy sites. The ministry's spokesperson, Sufyan Al-Qudah, affirmed Jordan's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist Zionist settlers. He described the act as a provocative and inciting attempt to impose new facts on the ground by dividing the mosque temporally and spatially. He warned of the grave consequences of these continued violations and desecration attempts, which he said would not be possible without the facilitation and protection of the extremist settlers by the occupying Israeli police. He demanded that 'Israel' immediately cease all irresponsible practices and end them without delay. Al-Qudah stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims and reaffirmed that the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs' Jerusalem Waqf Department is the sole legal authority responsible for managing the mosque's affairs and regulating access to it. US Military: We faced one of most intense combat operations in history in Red Sea

Sana'a – SABA: The US Navy has acknowledged that the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman experienced one of the most intense combat operations in history while operating in the Red Sea—highlighting the severity of the threat posed by Yemeni attacks during the second wave of American escalation in Yemen. A report by the US Naval Institute (USNI) described the relief and joy among the crews of the Truman and the destroyer USS Stout upon their return from what was described as a grueling combat mission. The report confirmed that three F/A-18 fighter jets were lost during the Truman's recent deployment and that over 1.1 million pounds of munitions were used by US forces over a 50-day campaign against Yemen. After five months of confronting Yemeni forces in the Red Sea, the Stout and Truman concluded what the report called one of the most intense naval operations in decades for the US Navy. Observers interpret the return of the Truman and Stout as a clear sign of the scale of the threat posed by Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea against US military assets. The intensity of Yemeni attacks reportedly forced the US to seek an agreement to avoid further escalation, fearing a direct strike on the aircraft carrier itself—which would be a humiliating blow to the US military, especially after Yemeni forces posed real threats to advanced F-35 jets and succeeded in downing three F/A-18s. The Yemeni forces also relentlessly pursued US naval assets with continuous missile attacks around the clock. Yemeni revolutionary leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi stated: 'The Americans have destroyed many civilian targets, and there are hundreds of martyrs and wounded among our dear people, but they have not been able to stop the operations, destroy our capabilities, or break our people's will.' He added: 'If the Americans get involved in a third round of aggression, we are fully prepared to confront them.' Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
