While Joe Burrow has beef with the NFL schedule that most agree with, for fans, it has to be nice to not worry about trying to catch a preseason game on a tape delay on local networks or otherwise.
Even better, this happens during an offseason in which Zac Taylor says he plans to play starters more than usual as they attempt to fix the annual slow starts to regular seasons.

Dez Bryant makes statement on Pride Month
The post Dez Bryant makes statement on Pride Month appeared first on ClutchPoints. Former Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant knows a thing or two about shooting his mouth off. After all, it was Bryant who lashed out at Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones after a loss to the 49ers in late October. His gift for gab has gotten him into hot water again on Monday. Bryant took to social media to post puzzling remarks regarding the acknowledgment of Pride Month, per Josh Sanchez of Sports Illustrated. He took issue with the ML Football League, who posted on X acknowledging Pride Month and saying things such as 'Football is gay' and 'Football is for everyone.' 'These are wild statements to make,' Bryant posted on X. 'Excuse my silliness. I'm going to proudly tell my boys football is none of these things. I have nothing against Gays, but this is far from right.' He then followed up with a subsequent post that included much harsher commentary. 'It's gay players in the NFL, but forcing it in people's faces, especially children, can send the wrong message,' he said. 'Football is a real community, like the gay community. Imagine telling gays they have to advocate for straight people. They probably would have a problem.' Pride Month is a celebration of the history and visibility of the LGBTQ+ community. It is held in June to commemorate the historic Stonewall Riots on June 28, 1969, which marked the launch of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The NFL has acknowledged Pride Month since 2017. However, this is not the first time Bryant has said something off-putting. During his tenure with the Cowboys, Bryant has become one of the most outspoken players. Often saying and doing things that have gotten him in hot water. In 2012, he was involved in a physical altercation with his mother, Angela, that was caught on tape by TMZ. She said he hit her with a baseball cap and tore her shirt as she was trying to break up a scuffle between Bryant and her brother. At one point, Bryant owned a capuchin monkey. That invoked the ire of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). He called former Cowboys teammate Sean Lee a 'snake' and called out the team's playcalling. Last November, Bryant trolled Jay Z after a Cowboys loss to the Washington Commanders. All of this came amid rumors that Jay-Z would become an owner of the Commanders. At virtually every turn, Bryant has something to say.

Metro Atlanta student banned from MIT graduation ceremony after Palestine comments
A metro Atlanta student, set to speak at her university's degree ceremony, was forced to sit it out. The decision came after she made comments in support of Palestine a day earlier. 'You showed the world that MIT wanted a free Palestine,' said Megha Vemuri while speaking at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology commencement ceremony last Thursday as the class president. It is where she made comments about not just Palestine, but also criticized the university. 'You stood in solidarity with the pro-Palestinian activists on campus, you faced threats, intimidation, and suppression coming from especially your own university officials,' added Vemuri, who is an Alpharetta High School alum. After her speech, MIT decided that Vemuri, who had a role in an undergraduate degree ceremony the next day, couldn't attend. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The speech wasn't the one Vemuri provided to officials beforehand. The university said in a statement, in part, 'the individual deliberately and repeatedly misleading commencement organizers and leading a protest from the stage, disrupting an important Institute ceremony.' 'I stand by and agree with MIT in what their decision happened to be,' Rabbi Larry Sernovitz of the Hillels of Georgia told Channel 2's Candace McCowan. Sernovitz works with college students, and said this wasn't the time or place for the comments. 'Universities have a duty not just to their students but to the United States to make sure students don't feel intimidated, harassed, or oppressed on campus,' Sernovitz said. 'You want to protest, that's fine, but not at graduation. Give people the freedom to celebrate their academic achievements and not have to worry that when they sit there, excited and celebrating, they're going to have to hear anti-Israel, anti-Jewish propaganda.' While Vemuri wasn't allowed at the degree ceremony, she did receive her degree. Channel 2 reached out to Vemuri, but didn't hear back. With top NFL edge rushers landing major paydays this offseason – including the Browns' Myles Garrett (four years, $204.8 million) and the Raiders' Maxx Crosby (three years, $106.5 million) – T.J. Watt is expected to land a similar deal. Update on contract extension between Steelers and T.J. Watt Pittsburgh had the opportunity to get the deal done with Watt before other top players in the position agreed to large pay days, but the Steelers have decided to stay patient in the contract extension process. Watt with the expectation they will come to some agreement with the four-time All-Pro and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year before the start of the regular season," per the Post-Gazette.
