Oregon Duck fans react to 4-star QB Bryson Beaver's commitment on social media

USA Today25-06-2025
The Oregon Ducks scored a big win on Wednesday afternoon, landing a commitment from 4-star quarterback Bryson Beaver, one of the fastest-rising QB prospects in the 2026 class.
Beaver has seen his recruitment blow up over the last month. Since receiving an offer from Oregon on June 11, Beaver has watched as several other offers poured in from the likes of Alabama, Ole Miss, Colorado, LSU, and Auburn. He has also taken a handful of visits to SEC country, turned heads at the Elite 11 Finals, and ended up in Eugene for an official visit as well.
Now his recruitment comes full circle with a commitment to the Ducks, taking over as their lone QB in the 2026 class. Beaver received a recruiting bump this week on 247Sports, jumping up from the No. 71-ranked QB in the class to No. 17, while also moving from a 3-star player to a 4-star.
The commitment was seen as much-needed among Oregon fans, who have swung and missed on a couple of QB prospects this cycle, like 5-stars Jared Curtis and Ryder Lyons. Here's a look at how they reacted to the commitment on social media:

When are the AP preseason Top 25 college football rankings released? Will Texas be No. 1?

Find out the release date for the 2025 preseason AP Top 25 Ranking The preseason US LBM Coaches Poll is out and for the first time in school history, the Texas Longhorns are ranked No. 1. The ranking, combined with Ohio State's No. 2 ranking, makes history. The Longhorns-Buckeyes matchup will be the first No. 1 vs. No. 2 Week 1 matchup in history. But what about the AP Top 25 Ranking? Is Texas No. 1 in it? The answer is - we don't know yet. The AP Poll traditionally comes out after the Coaches Poll, whether it is preseason or during the year. When is the AP Top 25 college football rankings released? The AP will reveal its Top 25 college football rankings on Monday, August 11 around Noon ET. The poll will populate the rankings link of USA TODAY Sports (and other sites) soon after. The rankings will also be posted on X/Twitter. How often does the Preseason No. 1 win the National Title? Not much. Since the year 2000, only USC (2004) and Alabama (2017) have started and ended the season No. 1. The '17 Alabama team is the only team to stay No. 1 the entire campaign. A team does want to start in the Top 5 though. Over the past decade, only one team, LSU (2019), was ranked outside the Top 5 in the preseason AP Poll and the Tigers were No. 6. What if Texas is No. 1 in the preseason AP Top 25? It will be a nice feather in the cap of the program. It is like good PR. More fans, analysts and TV pundits will be talking about the Longhorns. Will it add pressure? Maybe. We'll see what this team is really made of in Columbus, OH on Aug. 30.

Oregon Ducks announce new 'Under Construction' fall camp documentary series for 2025

Back in December of 2024, the Oregon Ducks announced themselves as one of the best teams in the Big Ten Conference, defeating the Penn State Nittany Lions in the conference championship game. A few months before that, though, they let everyone know that they were coming. How? By simply declaring themselves as "That Team Out West." With a fall camp documentary series, the Ducks went viral, stoking some flames in the conference with their videos of behind-the-scenes developments in the program and close looks at the players through fall camp, much like we see every year in the NFL with HBO's Hard Knocks. Oregon announced on Tuesday that it will be running it back, too, this time with a new theme. "2025 Fall Camp: Under Construction" is set to release online this coming Thursday, August 7. The trailer for the series delves into the construction taking place at the Oregon practice facilities this summer as the Ducks build their new 170,000-square-foot indoor practice facility. A year ago, it was notable Oregon alum Ty Burrell who narrated every episode for the Ducks. We will see who they got to do the job this time around, but if the 2024 series is any indication, Oregon fans should be excited for the product that the video team produces later this week and over the next month. Alabama running back named to 2025 Doak Walker Award preseason watch list

An individual honor the program is certainly familiar with, Alabama Crimson Tide running back Jam Miller has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Doak Walker Award. The preseason watch list was announced Tuesday, with Miller among the numerous running backs listed nationally. Entering year four in Tuscaloosa, the senior is cemented as Alabama's top running back this season, coming off a breakout season in which he had a career-high 668 yards and seven touchdowns on 145 attempts. In addition to that, Miller also hauled in 16 receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown. Miller also enters the 2025 season having eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for his career toward the end of last year, owning a combined 1,092 yards and 10 touchdowns across 219 attempts. Awarded annually to the nation's top running back, Alabama has won the Doak Walker Award three times before, which came via Trent Richardson (2011), Derrick Henry (2015), and Najee Harris (2020).
