UPDATE — 5/13/25, 10:03 a.m. ET: Diddy's daughters Chance, D'Lila and Jessie Combs reportedly left the courtroom on Monday, May 12, as sex worker Daniel Phillip was giving testimony about his alleged interactions with the rapper and Cassie.
According to People, Chance and the twins left the courtroom twice while Phillip testified, both times as he was giving graphic accounts of sexual encounters. At one point when they left, Phillip was recalling a time when Combs allegedly masturbated into a corner while watching him have sex with Cassie.
The outlet noted that Diddy's daughters as well as his mother, Janice Combs, remained in the courtroom as prosecutors played the 2016 video that showed him assaulting Cassie in a hotel. Per People, Diddy's sons, Justin, Christian and Quincy, watched the video while his daughters and Janice stared straight ahead.
Original story:
Sean 'Diddy' Combs had support from his family as his federal trial began in New York City on Monday, May 12.
The rapper's mom, Janice Combs, was in attendance along with six of his kids. His eldest daughters, Chance and twins D'Lila and Jessie, all 18, entered the courthouse on Monday morning holding hands with their brother Christian, 27. They were also accompanied by their brothers Justin, 31, and Quincy Brown, 33.
Chance dressed in an all-white outfit that included a buttoned-up cardigan and slacks, while her sisters wore matching black suits. Their brothers also appeared in dark colors, with Quincy choosing a gray suit and Justin and Christian wearing black separates.
Janice, meanwhile, wore a black suit and leopard-print top as she walked into court. The morning's proceedings are expected to begin with jury selection before both sides present their opening statements.
Inside Diddy and Mom Janice Smalls Combs' Close Relationship Through the Years: Parties, Gifts and More
Diddy, 55, is the father of seven children. He shares eldest son Justin with ex Misa Hylton. The rapper and the late Kim Porter shared son Christian, and he also adopted Porter's son Quincy, whom she shared with Al B. Sure. They also welcomed twins D'Lila and Jessie. (Porter died at age 47 in 2018.) Diddy and Sarah Chapman share daughter Chance. His youngest child is daughter Love, 2, whom he shares with Dana Tran.
Following their father's arrest, Diddy's older children shared a joint statement of support for their dad.
'The past month has devastated our family,' they wrote. 'Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media. We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD.'
Diddy's mom, Janice Combs, has also been supportive of her son throughout his legal ordeal.
'I come to you today as a mother that is devastated and profoundly saddened by the allegations made against my son, Sean Combs. It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,' she said in a statement to Us Weekly in October 2024. 'To bear witness [to] what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have this day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.'

Janice, 84, and Diddy have maintained a close relationship since he rose to fame in the early 1990s.
'My mother was always working for a job, so I guess I was always trained that I should have multiple jobs, multiple aspirations,' Diddy said in a 2010 interview with Nightline. 'And I remember she had multiple aspirations, always hearing about her dreams and things she did in the past and things she wanted to do.'
Over the years, Janice accompanied her son to some of the biggest events in the music industry, including the MTV Video Music Awards and BET Awards.
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all of the allegations against him.
Diddy's Ups and Downs Over the Years: Name Changes, Lawsuits, Home Raid and More
'We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office,' Diddy's attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement at the time. 'He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.'
Since his arrest, Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His four requests for bail were denied by Judge Arun Subramanian.

Phoebe Gates And Sophia Kianni Sit Down With Olympian Eileen Gu On The Burnouts

Filmed in New York City the week her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue hit stands, champion freestyle skier, Gu, joined former Stanford peers Gates and Kianni for a candid conversation about cultural identity, belonging, and what it means to come of age in the public eye. Together, the three women explored the realities of life in their early 20s—navigating global visibility, solo travel, building businesses, and learning who they are through self-exploration. Gu reflected on her meteoric rise, including the surreal moment of waking up to hear Tucker Carlson speaking about her, the pressure of answering geopolitical questions moments after winning Olympic gold, and what it meant to take bold leaps with Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated. Her exchange with Phoebe and Sophia is a window into the nuance of female ambition—how culture, identity, and power shape the journey, but remain deeply personal and singular to each woman. Gu made history at the 2022 Winter Olympics, securing two golds and a silver medal, becoming the only action sports athlete to clinch three medals in a single Olympic event. At age 18, she set the record for the youngest freeski Olympic gold medalist. Gu's extraordinary feats extend beyond the Olympics; she's the first snowsport athlete to claim three medals at both the 2021 XGames and FIS World Championships and the inaugural female freeskier to execute a double cork 1440 and unnatural double cork 1620 in competition. Gu also currently holds the win record for any freeski athlete, male or female, with 18 FIS World Cup victories. When asked about the criticism she received for choosing to represent China instead of the U.S. in the Olympics, she explained that her focus was always on her passion for skiing rather than geopolitical issues, 'And so there was a press conference right after the Olympics, like literally right after I won the Olympics. I was taken into this press room by myself. No agent, no mom, no family, nothing. Totally vulnerable, just me and in front of me, there's a room of reporters. They asked, 'So what do you think about US-China geopolitics?' And I'm like, I just won the Olympics. Like you were asking me to solve problems. I'm just trying to focus on what is relevant to me, what I actually can have an impact on, and also what I'm passionate about.' She is not just a champion on the slopes but also a voice for young people, particularly girls. Her advocacy for female empowerment earned her the Vogue Aurora Award in 2019. Gu has also made her mark on the fashion world since the age of 15, including walking the runway for Louis Vuitton, closing the Brunello Cucinelli 2025 show, and opening and closing the Bosideng 2024 show at Milan Fashion Week. She was one of the Founding Collective members of Victoria's Secret, and has brand ambassadorships with brands like Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, IWC, and Porsche. She has been featured on covers of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, V Magazine, L'Officiel and Marie Claire. For her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover Gu embodied her inner femininity, 'I wanted to embody strength. I wanted to embody femininity and the intersection of beauty and power.' She even wrote her college essay on this topic. With Gu only being 21, the conversation left you eager to see where you accomplishments take her next. The Burnouts recently launched this past April in partnership with Alex Cooper's Unwell Network and dives into the unfiltered reality of building a startup as two 20-something women in NYC. Season one guests have thus far included Kris Jenner, Sara Blakely, Whitney Wolfe Herd, and Chelsea Handler. Both Gates and Kianni are also co-founders of Phia, a viral venture-backed AI shopping tool that finds the best prices on fashion across 40,000+ retail and resale sites, coined as the Google Flights for fashion. Phia debuted at #21 in the App Store within 48 hours after launch, with over 100k+ downloads. Together, Phoebe and Sophia have 1.5M+ followers and 100M+ social impressions, and are quickly becoming the new faces within the zeitgeist of Gen Z entrepreneurship.

California candidate for governor blasts Newsom while walking through LA riot aftermath

California GOP gubernatorial candidate, Steve Hilton, and former Democratic state senate leader Gloria Romero spoke to Fox News Digital outside a graffiti-covered Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) station as anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) riots ravage the streets of LA. "I've been here for days, seeing what's going on with these riots. One of the most shocking things is the scale of the graffiti," Hilton told Fox News Digital. "Everywhere you go in downtown LA, every surface is covered in vile, disgusting graffiti. And to me it is a really vivid symbol of the total collapse of law and order of civilized values, that they just let this happen. All of this could have been prevented." Hilton, who declared his candidacy for governor in April, has not shied away from critiquing Gavin Newsom's leadership in the Golden State. But with the nation watching the battle between the sitting California governor and President Donald Trump over squelching the riots and ICE deportations, Hilton went as far as to say that "Newsom is a total joke." "He's shown in the last few days he is not fit to be governor of this state," Hilton explained to Fox. "He is certainly not fit to be President of the United States, which is the only thing he seems to be focused on, which is why right at the beginning of all this, instead of acting immediately to make sure that things didn't get out of hand and to protect communities, to protect small businesses and to prevent law and order and uphold civilized values." Hilton was joined in the interview with Fox News Digital by Gloria Romero, a former Democratic California senate leader turned Republican who previously represented East Los Angeles. "For years and years, I tried to fight for reform within the party," Romero told Fox. "Finally, like my friend[s] Leo Terrell, Bobby Kennedy, Tulsi Gabbard, I said, the [Democrat] party left me. It is so woke. It is gone." "Today we are looking at what happens then when those who are unvetted come in, and we're looking at not only just the Maryland man as they described him, the California man, but we're looking at rapists, convicted rapists, sex traffickers, murderers," Romero added. Newsom has stood firm in refusing to back down from Trump as riots raged on, and some see his rhetoric and decision-making as a means to propel himself as the leader of the anti-Trump movement as well as possibly the Democrat party as a whole. Speculation that Newsom could make a run for the Democratic ticket for president in 2028 heightened during his national address this week, where he said "California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next." Newsom is termed out as California governor, giving Hilton and other GOP hopefuls a chance to flip the state red for the first time since Arnold Schwarzenegger over 14 years ago.
