Split Fiction Is Out Now, Here's Why You'll Want To Get Distracted By It

Yahoo06-03-2025

Hazelight Studios has once again brought a whole heap of co-op joy with its newest game, Split Fiction, which sends two players on a high-stakes quest across high fantasy and sci-fi settings. There are plenty of funny and heartfelt moments for you and a friend to experience in this adventure. But if you're wondering how many hours of cooperative fun there is to be had, we've got the answer for you. Here's how long it takes to beat Split Fiction.
Seeing as Split Fiction is an entirely cooperative title, the time it takes you to see it through depends largely on the skill level of both players. However, the average playthrough of Split Fiction will take roughly 12 hours. This would be simply pushing through the game's main storyline with minimal distractions.
It's worth noting, though, that the distractions are half the fun of Split Fiction! Fully completing the game and snagging every trophy or achievement will take some dedication, as you'll need to be on the same page about finishing every side story and finding a variety of optional one-off moments throughout the game.
Luckily, Split Fiction has a very generous chapter select that allows you to revisit past segments of the game and wrap up any side content you may have missed on your first pass through a level. This makes full completion much less stressful, leaving you to enjoy your initial play at a pace that feels right for you and your gaming partner.
If you're a completionist looking to get the absolute most out of Split Fiction, you can expect to spend around 15 hours experiencing its sci-fi and fantasy worlds. This includes stopping to check out all of the side stories and fun little interactions, or using the aforementioned chapter select to catch up on any of these you missed your first time through the game.Split Fiction is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. And remember: Only one person has to buy the game, as it features a Friend's Pass that allows a second person to play for free. So you only have half the excuses for not jumping into this thrilling co-op adventure right away!

Sony isn't worried about the Switch 2 being the fastest-selling piece of Nintendo hardware ever, because you need the PS5 for "a great experience on big screens"

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. As you've no doubt noticed, the Nintendo Switch 2 is now available worldwide. The new console's arrival is sending ripples through the industry, but Sony isn't concerned, because the PlayStation 5 hardware is simply on another level. Hideaki Nishino, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, was asked about Nintendo's latest system and whether there were any concerns about what it offers during a recent business segment meeting. He starts by mentioning that competition is good, and companies successfully launching products is good for everyone, before taking a more pointed stance. "We have a differentiated strategy. PS5 is designed for an immersive gaming experience, and this includes the innovative DualSense controller features as well," he says. "We believe PS5-level performance is required to achieve a great experience on big screens. And in this way, we have provided a unique offering for players and creators in this current console generation." In the face of increasing multi-platform releases, Nishino reiterates the goal of making the PS5 the finest option for creative teams looking to reach a wide audience. "We have empowered our creators to leverage our offering and services to create amazing, unique experiences for players with high engagement and great monetization opportunities," he explains. "We have done this consistently as the industry and competitive dynamics have evolved. And of course, PlayStation Studios, our franchises, have a special role in showcasing the PlayStation experience and then strengthening the player's vision with us." With the likes of God of War and The Last of Us, Sony has managed to maintain its exclusives remarkably well, breeding a particular kind of loyalty in the process. These games do court an older fanbase than the home of Super Mario and Zelda aims for, but Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, believes they have something for everyone. "In addition to our franchises with more, I would call it 'multi-generational' fanbases, such as Marvel's Spider-Man, we also have franchises that appeal to a range of different player segments. Horizon is a good example, it's been very popular with female players, Astro Bot from our lovely Team Asobi in Tokyo, it's been a hit with children and adults alike," he explained. There are pros and cons to every machine and platform. There's still only one place you can play Mario Kart, and it's not where Kratos lives, but you're unlikely to see The Last of Us 3 anywhere near the Switch 2 either. Meanwhile, the Switch 2 is built with portability in mind, whereas the PS5 favors cinematic, at-home playing. It's all about finding what suits you. Directive 8020 Release Date, Gameplay, Trailer

The post Directive 8020 Release Date, Gameplay, Trailer appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Directive 8020 Release Date arrives soon, and fans can try out the next entry in the Dark Pictures series soon. Supermassive Games, the creators of Until Dawn, have returned once again to give fans of another spine-chilling horror game. Directive 8020 won't take place on Terra Firma, but the series' core gameplay mechanics will keep it true to the franchises' roots. But when exactly can gamers get their hands on it? The Directive 8020 Release Date is Thursday, October 2nd 2025. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Supermassive Games returns as developer and publisher. Directive 8020 Gameplay Directive 8020 is an interactive horror game that can be played solo or with friends. Like previous Dark Pictures Games, the player (or players) control five playable characters throughout an interactive, narrative-driven story. Throughout the story, you'll make decisions that impact several things, like: Potential Endings Relationships with other characters Whether or not your character will survive & More! Therefore, the game encourages replay-ability, so you can try it out to see multiple outcomes. Whether you want to see certain characters be friends or enemies, or if you want to just see everybody die, Directive 8020 lets you control their destinies. To progress through the game, players need to navigate through areas, collect and use items, and correctly perform QTEs. And mixed in with all these elements comes character dialogue, which you can choose throughout the game. While each character has their own pre-determined personality, your choices impact how they become later on. But Directive 8020 also adds some new gameplay mechanics that will really shake the experience for players. Firstly, the developers added a new Rewind system. This enables you to go back to important choices and change your decision, which will impact the outcome of certain events. So if you really want to see the Perfect, or 'Happy' ending, you may need to use this feature. But the developers also plan on adding a feature that disables rewind. Therefore, you can play the game and experience something similar to the previous entries. Perhaps the biggest change in terms of gameplay includes the new real time threats. In previous Supermassive Games, you could only die if you: Failed certain QTEs Made specific decisions that led to your death or Failed to complete something in a certain amount of time But now, it appears that the enemies of Directive 8020's can kill you even as you actively control your character. Speaking of the enemy, Directive 8020's foes include alien organisms 'capable of mimicking its prey'. This can create a lot of interesting situations in which player relationships make a big impact on the story. Each character comes with a wrist-strap that can perform multiple things. From basic mechanics like a flashlight, this tool can also help you identify any mimicking aliens. Additionally, it contains a weapon, but you'll still need to use stealth tactics to survive. Overall, this tool will prove detrimental in your efforts to survive. That includes some of the main gameplay elements of Directive 8020, but what about its story? Directive 8020 Story Directive 8020 is the first new entry in the Dark Pictures Season 2. In Directive 8020, you control five playable characters aboard the colony ship Cassiopeia. Unfortunately, when the ship crash-lands on Tau Ceti f. When an alien life form starts mimicking passengers on board, trust-levels reach an all-time low. The five playable characters include: Brianna Young – Pilot of the Cassiopeia colony ship Nolan Stafford – Commander of the Cassiopeia Lauren Eisele – Cassiopeia's senior mission officer Josef Cernan – Ship's technical engineer Samantha Cooper – Medical Specialist aboard the Cassiopeia Young is the game's leading character, and the one piloting the Cassiopeia. But each character plays an important role that will be necessary in reaching the perfect ending. In solo play, you control all characters throughout the campaign. But you can also play co-op online or locally, allowing you to enjoy the game with friends. Regardless, each character can die throughout the campaign, making every choice and decision matter. Furthermore, players can expect to see a Director's Cut post-launch, which adds more cutscenes and sequences to the game. Overall, these additions add even more replay value to the game. Overall, that includes everything you need to know about the Directive 8020 Release Date, Gameplay, Trailer, and more. We look forward to playing the next epic adventure in Supermassive's Dark Picture series. We'll see you aboard the Cassiopeia this October! Lastly, for more gaming news, visit ClutchPoints.
