350,000 stimulant tablets seized in Myanmar's Yangon
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police searched a vehicle in Mingaladon township of Yangon on April 23, and confiscated the drug, and arrested two suspects.
The next day, another suspect who ordered the transport of the drug was arrested on the Yangon-Mandalay highway.
The seized narcotic was approximately worth 350 million kyats (about US$166,666) on the black market.

Three Bangladeshi men killed in highway crash at LPT1 near Kuantan
KUANTAN: Three Bangladeshi men were killed and two others injured after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in skidded off the road at KM200.8 of the East Coast Highway (LPT1) near here yesterday. Acting Kuantan police chief Supt Mohd Adli Mat Daud said the crash occurred around 7:30 pm, claiming the lives of driver Md Sabber Hasan, 30, and passengers Md Jahid Hasan, 21, and Abdullah, 24. Initial investigations revealed the Toyota Avanza was heading from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to skid left. Mohd Adli confirmed the driver lacked a valid license, and the vehicle's road tax had expired since May 2025. Tesla ordered to pay US$242mil over fatal Autopilot crash
NEW YORK: A Florida jury on Friday ordered Tesla to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to plaintiffs who blamed a deadly 2019 crash on the company's "Autopilot" driver assistance technology. The jury found Tesla's system partly responsible for a crash in Key Largo that killed Naibel Benavides Leon and injured her boyfriend, Dillon Angulo, according to attorney Darren Jeffrey Rousso, a partner at the law firm that represented Angulo and Leon's family. The plaintiffs had alleged that Autopilot was to blame when driver George McGee's Tesla careened into a Chevrolet sport utility vehicle, killing Leon and injuring Angulo. The jury awarded US$200 million in punitive damages, plus US$59 million in compensatory damages to Leon's family and US$70 million in damages to Angulo, according to court records. Since the jury assigned one-third of the blame to Tesla, the compensatory damages will be reduced, Rousso said, with the total impact of the jury award totalling US$242 million after these reductions. "Justice was done," Rousso said. "The jury heard all the evidence and came up with a fair and just verdict on behalf of our clients." Tesla will appeal the decision, according to its defence attorneys. "Today's verdict is wrong and only works to set back automotive safety and jeapordise Tesla's and the entire industry's efforts to develop and implement life-saving technology," Tesla said through its legal team. "The evidence has always shown that this driver was solely at fault because he was speeding, with his foot on the accelerator – which overrode Autopilot – as he rummaged for his dropped phone without his eyes on the road," Tesla said. "To be clear, no car in 2019, and none today, would have prevented this crash. This was never about Autopilot."--AFP

Four-year-old boy dies after falling from eighth floor in Port Klang
SHAH ALAM, Aug 2 — A four-year-old boy was found dead after he is believed to have fallen from the eighth floor of a flats in Port Klang near here yesterday. Klang Selatan Police deputy chief Supt Kamalariffin Aman Shah said an emergency call was received at about 8 am. He said the incident occurred while the boy's father was at work and the mother had gone out to take their second child to the babysitter. 'Preliminary investigations indicate that the boy fell from the window of his home on the eighth floor. He was rushed to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang, but was pronounced dead during treatment,' he said in a statement. Kamalariffin said the case was being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001. He urged those with information about the incident to contact the Klang Selatan Police headquarters at 03-33762222 to facilitate investigations. — Bernama
