Man charged after allegedly following female to her home in Toronto's west end; police believe there may be more victims
Toronto police have arrested a male suspect who allegedly followed a female victim to her west-end home on three separate occasions.
On Oct. 8, 2024, police say they were called the area of St. Clair Avenue West and Vaughan Road after receiving reports of a suspicious incident.
They say that a male allegedly followed a female for several blocks to her residence on three separate occasions between August and October 2024.
Investigators allege that on one occasion the male attempted to speak to the female, while on another, he was able to enter her apartment building.
On July 1, Trevor Edwards, 46, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and criminal harassment. He was scheduled to appear in bail court today at 10 a.m.
Police have since released the accused's photo and previously issued a public safety alert as they believe there may be more incidents and more victims.

Langford construction site the target of 2 separate theft attempts in 1 day, RCMP say

Mounties on Vancouver Island say they received two separate reports of theft from the same construction site in the span of four hours Wednesday. The site in question is located at 2165 Bellamy Rd. in Langford, West Shore RCMP said in a news release Thursday. The first theft occurred around 10:40 a.m. Wednesday. In surveillance video, a black Ford F150 pickup truck can be seen pulling into the site, according to police, who did not share the video, but shared stills from it. Two men exited the truck and began loading equipment from the site into the truck bed, police said. The second incident occurred around 2:40 p.m., approximately four hours after the first. 'Police believe a second theft from the same site was interrupted by witnesses who reported a white truck driving out of the site at a high rate of speed after the suspect realized they were being watched,' Mounties said in the release. The suspect vehicle in the first theft was an 'early 2000s' model two-door F150 with 'a black folding Tonneau cover, a Harley Davidson sticker on the left side of the tailgate and writing on the box of the truck,' police said. (West Shore RCMP) The driver of that vehicle was a man 'with light skin colour' and 'dark facial hair,' according to police, He was wearing a dark baseball cap, a white T-shirt, dark pants and black boots. His passenger, the second suspect, also had a light complexion, police said. He was wearing a white tank top, tan-coloured shorts, white shoes and a 'white visor cap.' Police described the suspect vehicle in the second incident as a white, two-door, older-model pickup truck – possibly a Chevrolet – with 'a black cargo liner and at least two tires in the cargo box' and dried mud on the sides of the vehicle. They did not include any other information about his appearance in the release. 5 Canada Geese dead after being struck in Markham, city says
Five Canada Geese are dead and two are injured after being struck by a vehicle in Markham on Thursday, the city says. The geese were hit on Birchmount Road between Enterprise Boulevard and 14th Avenue. Markham Animal Services received several calls from concerned commuters at about 2 p.m. "Several citizens at the scene expressed concern that the geese may have been intentionally struck," the City of Markham said in a statement on Thursday. Markham Animal Services said it has been unable to verify the claims. Five geese died at the scene and were removed from the roadway by city crews. Of the two geese found alive, one was in critical condition and the other had suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken leg and wing. The injured geese have been taken to the Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge in Pefferlaw, Ont., where they are receiving treatment. "The City of Markham is committed to the protection and humane treatment of all wildlife," the city said in the statement. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashboard camera footage that may help the investigation is urged to call Markham Animal Services at 905-415-7531.
