The public first heard of the incident through an airport employee's TikTok recounting the eventA couple allegedly left their 10-year-old child behind at an airport in order to make their flight.Guardia Civil, Spain's national police, confirmed to USA Today the incident happened a few days ago at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Per the office, the boy wasn't able to board the flight with his parents because of documentation errors. So, in an effort to not miss the flight, the parents boarded anyway.
Mossos d'Esquadra, the local police, were first alerted to the incident who then alerted Guardia Civil.
The police temporarily halted the flight in order to locate the family members. Once authorities found the parents, they were escorted off the plane and taken to the police station where the child was held for safety.
Mossos d'Esquadra told the outlet the parents were reported for child abandonment.
Neither Guardia Civil nor Mossos d'Esquadra immediately responded to to PEOPLE's request for comment.
The public first heard of the incident through a July 27 TikTok posted by an airport employee named Lilian.

'I am an air coordinator,' the TikTok user, who goes by @limasin41, says in the clip translated from Spanish to English by the platform. 'As coordinator, I have seen a lot of things, but this has already been totally surreal.'
Lilian went on to explain that the start of flight operations went completely normal. But when she went to drop off some paperwork, she learned the plane went back and parked. Lilian made her way to the aircraft and met the police. Authorities explained they learned from the boy that his parents were flying back to their country of origin after their vacation.
Lilian then contacted the pilot who explained the situation to the passengers on board. But nobody fessed up. Then, Guardia Civil personnel boarded the plane and escorted the parents.
According to Lilian, the explanation given to police was that the boy's passport from his country of origin had expired. Instead, he was traveling with a Spanish passport, but it was missing the required visa. So, the parents called a relative to pick up the boy while the parents boarded the aircraft.
'For them, they saw it very normal obviously,' Lilian said. 'I didn't see it normal and the police didn't see it normal either.

After the parents were escorted off the flight and to the station, the rest of the flight proceedings continued as normal, according to Lilian.
Lilian, who is a mother herself, said she couldn't imagine leaving her daughter alone when she was that age.
'I mean, I freak out as a mother,' she said. 'I remember when my little girl was little. I was losing it for a second.'

At its peak, Einhaus operated in over 5,000 German retail stores, partnering with major telecommunication companies like Deutsche Telekom and 1&1, generating units to €70 million in annual revenue. Then, in 2023, a ransomware group by the name of 'Royal' infiltrated systems and encrypted critical data including contracts, billing, and communications, leaving the company battling to make up losses thereafter. Germany's Einhaus effectively taken down by one ransomware attack The attackers left messages via office printers warning that the company had been hacked (via WA), bringing operations to a halt with systems locked. In the months that followed, the company lost millions in revenue and operational delays, bringing total damages into the mid-seven-figure range. The company also reportedly paid a large €200,000 ransom in Bitcoin to regain access to critical data. German cybercrime investigators have since identified three suspects, and while public prosecutors seized the ransom-paid crypto, it never got returned to the Einhaus, which blocked the company from making a fuller recovery. Since the ransomware attack, Einhaus has been forced to cut headcount down from a peak of around 170 to just eight, selling off property and investments to make up some losses. Three companies under Einhaus Group, including 24logistics, have now filed for insolvency, and mobile phone repair services have been discontinued. With cyberattacks not only becoming more common, but often more costly, Einhaus Group forms part of a growing list of companies forced to shut down as a result of ransomware attacks, including the UK's Knights of Old transport company, Stoli USA and Finland's Vastaamo. Lewandowski & Lamine Yamal Fined For Doping By Union of European Football Associations? Full Controversy Explained

Lewandowski & Lamine Yamal Fined For Doping By Union of European Football Associations? Full Controversy Explained originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FC Barcelona is facing a scandal right now, that dates back to their last Champions League match. The club struggled then on the pitch and now off it, as two of the most important players were sanctioned. This decision came out today and was made by UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) after its meeting on July 31, 2025, where they issued several sanctions to Barça from their match played against Inter Milan. Lewandowski and Yamal Fined for Late Arrival to Anti-Doping Control Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal were fined €5,000 each for failing to arrive on time at the post-match doping control. UEFA said the fines were based on breaches of articles 21.8 and 21.10(a) which state players are to present themselves to the doping control area "immediately" after the conclusion of a match. The fines are serious but it's important to note that they are only based on proceduralbreaches, so no evidence or suspicion of doping substances was found. It's simply that UEFA has enforced its anti-doping protocols with little tolerance and shown the importance of being fully cooperative. Flick and Sorg Suspended, Club Fined for Crowd Misconduct There's more for FC Barcelona. Hansi Flick and Marcus Sorg, the head coach and assistant respectively, have been fined €20,000 each and suspended for one UEFA match for misconduct on the sidelines during the same match. General conduct regulation, unsportsmanlike behavior and criticism of referees publicly were cited by UEFA. Also, the club itself has been fined for projectiles tossed on the pitch resulting in a €5,250 fine and fireworks inside the stadium within received a €2,500 fine. As a result, Barça will have to face the next Champions League match without Flick and Sorg on the bench which could affect the team's tactics and sideline management. Meanwhile the fines for Lewandowski and Yamal, again, are procedural and neither of them tested positive nor were accused of doping. This is a reminder that UEFA has zero tolerance for any breaches related to doping control and match conduct to ensure the integrity and fairness of European football competitions.
