Sha'Carri Richardson breaks her silence following arrest for pummeling her boyfriend at Seattle airport

Daily Maila day ago
American Olympic hero Sha'Carri Richardson has broken her silence after footage showing her shoving her boyfriend repeatedly has gone viral.
The video, obtained by Daily Mail Sport, showed Richardson screaming and shoving her boyfriend - fellow sprinter Christian Coleman - at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at the end of July.
Following her virality - and brief time spent behind bars - Richardson posted to her Instagram story explaining what she had gone through and what she's learned from the incident.
'More than anything, definitely a lot of self reflection, a lot of understanding of not only putting myself in a compromising situation with somebody that I have a deep care and appreciation for as well, is something that — holding myself accountable,' Richardson said in a minute-plus video posted to her Instagram Story late Monday night.
'I'm taking this time to not only see myself but get myself a certain level of help that overall is going to reflect who I truly am in my heart and in my spirit and not allowing this moment, but accepting this moment to be more.
'So my only thing is, I want to be more — not just only for myself, for my family, my fans. I overly appreciate y'all supporting me and showing love and even holding me accountable to being my best self.
"I'm taking this time to not only see myself but get myself a certain level of help that overall is going to reflect who I truly am in my heart and my spirit and not allowing this moment – but accepting this moment – to be more."

'So more than anything, I refused to run away … but face everything that comes to me head-on because everything on the other side is greater but you gotta go through in order to get there.'
Notably, Richardson did not mention Coleman's name once or offer any kind of public apology to him in this Instagram story post after the footage from the airport was revealed.
The video begins with Coleman walking into frame before Richardson runs up behind him and pulls on the strap of his backpack. Richardson is seen speaking in a heightened manner, but no audio of the incident can be heard.
After Coleman tries walking away, Richardson is then seen slamming him up against a support column - attracting the attention of other passengers at the terminal.
Video shows Richardson bumping into Coleman repeatedly after her first shove, before she shoves him once again - this time, out of frame.
When the two re-enter the frame, Richardson is seen continuing her argument with Coleman - bumping into him more and more as he walks toward a TSA checkpoint to get the attention of an agent.
An alternate angle appears to show Richardson throwing an object - possibly her headphones - at Coleman's head before walking off. Footage later shows Coleman speaking to a group of police officers about the incident.
According to the Port of Seattle Police, Richardson told officers that the argument started because Coleman took her headphones from her.
'Richardson advised she did not assault him in any way and the dispute was only a verbal argument,' police documents said.
Richardson, the 2024 silver medalist in the 100m and a gold medal winner in the 4x100m relay, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault. She spent 18 hours in custody before being released.
Despite being on the receiving end of her anger, Coleman broke his silence earlier this week and said he didn't press charges and didn't believe that Richardson should have been handcuffed.
'For me personally, I feel like it was a sucky situation all round,' he said, as per Citius Mag on X. 'I don't feel like she should have been arrested.'
'I'm the type of guy who's in the business of extending grace, and mercy and love,' he told reporters.
'It didn't affect me. She's a human being and a great person, and I feel like you know, we've been able to be really good team-mates all year.
'We're just two dominant personalities. To me, she's the best female athlete in the world.'
Coleman continued: 'She's just had a lot of things going on, lot of emotions and forces going on inside of her that not only I can't understand, but nobody can.
The silver medalist in the 100m in Paris ran an 11.07 in her heat, but pulled out of the semifinals
'She's one-of-one. I know it's been a tough journey for her this year.
'But she's gonna bounce back because she's the best female athlete in the world. I see it every day. She's gonna be just fine. She gonna be good, and I'm gonna be good too.'
Coleman is said to have told officers that Richardson is his girlfriend of two years, despite their relationship only becoming public knowledge in February of this year.
The couple both raced in preliminary rounds at the 2025 USA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon recently.
Richardson posted a time of 11.07 seconds in the first round of the women's 100m race, while Coleman ran 10.08 in the men's heat, but the former then withdrew from the semifinals the following day. She was back in the field later on Friday for the women's 200m.
Richardson hadn't raced for eight months before making her return in May, that heat resulting in her fastest time in 2025.
As the reigning 100m World Champion, she already has an automatic bid to this year's World Championships in Tokyo. Noah Lyles, who has an automatic bid in the men's 100m, also announced he was pulling out of the 100m final on Friday.
After her prelims race on Thursday, Richardson explained why racing again meant so much to her.
She said: 'Being able to compete; feeling healthy, going out there and executing no matter what [and] just being the best athlete I can be... just to run a qualifying round, show fitness and take the rest of the time to get ready for Tokyo.'
Richardson previously landed herself in hot water when a positive marijuana test at the 2021 US Olympic trials meant she didn't compete at the Tokyo Games that year.

Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann set for LIV title showdown

August 13 - By Field Level Media Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm will go head-to-head this weekend for the LIV Golf individual title at the regular-season finale, LIV Golf Indianapolis, and both said Wednesday they are ready for the next round of their respectful rivalry. Niemann enters the 54-hole tournament with a lead of 12.27 points. Thanks to LIV's well-explained scoring system, Rahm knows exactly what he must do to overtake Niemann and defend his individual championship. Rahm took home a bonus of $18 million last year with his season win. Niemann (Torque GC captain) and Rahm (Legion XIII captain) are the only players still in the running for the individual championship. Niemann will win the title with a finish of first or second at The Club at Chatham Hills in Westfield, Ind. If Rahm wins the tournament, he still needs Niemann to finish third or worse to earn the championship again. "He's a fantastic competitor, fantastic golfer, great person as well," Rahm said. "It's a lot of fun to share the stage with him. "He's obviously been playing great golf, and even though I was able to get the best of him last year, he certainly made the job hard this year." LIV has a half-dozen other scenarios drawn out to determine who wins the individual crown depending on other finishing places. Winning the Indianapolis event would remove the need for any calculations for Niemann, a 26-year-old from Chile who has won five times to set a LIV single-season record. He attributes his success, in part, to his frequent pairings with Rahm. "It's been a lot of growing in my game. I feel like playing against Jon -- I've been playing with him for probably 60, 70 percent of my pairings this year (and) he's a great competitor," Niemann said. "He's always there. He never gives a shot away. It's fun to play with someone that pushes you to be better and to go back home and try to get better and come back here and try to beat him." Rahm, 30, hasn't been in the individual winner's circle this season but the native of Spain finds himself in contention on the final weekend because of his consistency. He has three runner-ups and just one finish outside the Top 10 - a T11 in Dallas. He lost to Dean Burmester in a playoff last Sunday at LIV Golf Chicago. "I feel like in a weird way, it should be more one-sided with what he was able to do, with how many wins he's had this year," Rahm said. "I guess consistency can pay off, but man, winning five times anywhere, anytime is incredible. My hat's off to him to what he's been able to do. Hopefully I can get the job done this week and pull off the upset. Rahm said he likes being paired with Niemann. "It's somebody that's a lot of fun to play with," he said. "I think both of us being Spanish speakers, it's just a little level of comfort that we have and just admire his game as well. It's just fun to watch him play golf." According to LIV Golf, Niemann has a 58.7 percent chance of winning the title, leaving Rahm with a 41.3 percent chance. Niemann isn't playing the odds. Just his game. "You've just got to worry about what you can control. There's nothing else you can worry about," he said. "I feel like the process you have through your shot, the routine that you have through the week, and at the end of the day, there is not much you can do. You can't force a result. You can't. We all know that. "I feel like it's no more than that." Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC captain) enters the weekend with a grip on third place -- he's 55-plus points behind Rahm -- but doesn't have a mathematical grip on the spot or the bonus money that comes with it. He's become a fan of the Niemann-Rahm competition week in and week out. "It's really impressive. The level of competition they bring to LIV is out of control. It makes it almost impossible for some guys," said DeChambeau, 31, who has two career LIV individual wins. "So that's what we need. We need continued push by those guys at the top to showcase what the best in the world look like, and couldn't be more proud of those individuals for leading the way in that regard, and hopefully I can be at the top next year and give myself a chance. "But what they're doing is great for LIV, it's great for golf, and honestly, I think whoever wins ... it's going to be an awesome feat and historical year for either one of those individuals."

Machine Gun Kelly theorizes he has ALIEN lineage after mother revealed she may have been abducted by UFO

Machine Gun Kelly suspects he may have an extraterrestrial background. The rapper, 35, revealed he has considered the possibility that he may have alien lineage thanks to several mysteries in his life, including his body's ability to quickly recover from injuries. Adding fuel to the theory, MGK says his mother suspects she may have been abducted by a UFO at one point - which may explain for the rapper's quirks. The can of worms was opened after MGK - real name Colson Baker - admitted he didn't know his true age during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. 'It's a weird thing, dude, I don't know if my age, I don't know if it exists,' he said. 'Wow! You have a Mariah Carey connection to your age? Which is, it's very fluid.' Host Andy Cohen asked. 'I don't know many facts about my life, so I don't know, I'm starting to just be like, like my skin, like if it rips open, it heals really quick,' he said. 'How?' an intrigued Andy asked. 'There's just things where I'm starting to be like, "Who's my dad?"' MGK continued. 'Do you think that you could be like otherworld?' Andy asked. 'I've asked my mom, I said, "Any period of time you went like missing, off Earth?... Ever a tall, slender creature?"' he said. 'She told me she felt like she got abducted at one point.' 'So there may be something to this!' Andy said. 'No, there really is!' he said. 'I'm bad at talking, I shouldn't have came on a talk show.' MGK has had a strained relationship with his parents. The rapper was born in Houston to missionary parents, but his mom left home when he was young for another man. The musician became estranged from his mother, but they reconnected in 2022. MGK also endured a difficult relationship with his father for many years. His dad sadly passed away in 2020. The speculation about his heritage wasn't all MGK discussed on the show. The Beyond The Lights actor also had a dramatic three-word response to rumors he may have struck up a romance with Sydney Sweeney. Earlier this year the duo were seen getting close at the star-studded opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The rapper was asked about the speculation during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live - and it was clear he didn't want to discuss the Euphoria star, 27. Viewer 'Kyle P.' submitted a question asking MGK about the matter, and the actor did not shy away from telling the curious fan exactly how he felt about the topic. 'MGK, Kyle P. wants to know if there's any truth you and Sydney Sweeney were more than just friends?' Host Andy Cohen, 57, asked, reading the viewer-submitted question. 'Kyle P., shut up dude,' MGK said, garnering laughter from the studio. The rapper sparked romance rumors earlier this year after they were seen chatting at the opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas; Sydney pictured in Los Angeles earlier this month MGK and Sydney have known each other since starring together in the 2021 film Downfalls High, which MGK also directed. But in May, the pair looked extra chummy as they spoke with one another at the Las Vegas party. At the time, MGK had recently split from Megan Fox, with the couple welcoming their first child together two months prior (MGK also has a daughter with ex Emma Cannon and Megan has three kids with ex Brian Austin Green). In exclusive Daily Mail video, Kelly and Sweeney were seen getting close and chatting. They were also seen sharing a fierce embrace in photos obtained by Page Six. Not only that, but they made appearances in one another's social media accounts as they posted about the bash. Sydney appeared in a silly selfie MGK posted that also included Patrick Schwarzenegger and hairstylist Glen Oropeza. The selfie was one of several MGK included in a post that he captioned, 'stop what you're doing these pictures are v important.' The Euphoria star also posted the results of a snap she took with MGK and the White Lotus star. Sydney's love life has been making headlines ever since her breakup with longtime fiancé Jonathan Davino. The actress split from Jonathan earlier this year in January, but news of the separation didn't come to light until March.

Motley Crue's Vince Neil sparks health concerns with stiff performance

Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil sparked health concerns from fans with his stiff solo performance with a backing band at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY on August 3. The 64-year-old glam metal rocker was singing his 1987 hit Girls, Girls, Girls with a faraway expression in his eyes, which continuously darted down to read the lyrics off a teleprompter. 'Great to be back on stage rocking out the last three nights with my brothers Stephen Pearcy "Ratt" and @bretmichaelsofficial!' Vince - who boasts 2.2M social media followers - wrote on August 4. 'Thanks to all the fans that made it out. I hope to see you in Vegas this fall!' However, concertgoer Tara Adams uploaded the now viral footage to Instagram where user @70brand commented: 'He even looks like he doesn't want to be there.' Instagram user @b_r_i_a_n_7_6 scoffed: 'He's making Corey Feldman look good.' 'My god,' Instagram user @ marveled. 'He's reading the words from the stage.' 'This is sad, out of being concerned for Vince. No need to kick somebody when they're down. This is not good,' YouTube user @shawnstarks1743 wrote. YouTube user @jasonscott5101 commented: 'Damn! This band needs a singer.' 'Jesus Christ, Ozzy sounded better than this two weeks before he died,' YouTube user @thefilmlodge blasted. 'This is embarrassing.' Ironically, Mötley Crüe was unable to attend the late Ozzy Osbourne's final concert in England on July 5 because as bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted on July 10: 'We have been having health issues within the band…' Neil (last name Wharton) performed for the first time in nearly a year on August 1 at MGM Music Hall in Boston where he thanked fans for their patience. 'I had a medical thing that happened to me, and they said I wouldn't be back on stage again,' the three-time Grammy nominee revealed onstage. 'I said, "[expletive] that, man!" And I'm back and I'm with you guys tonight. And I'm really proud to be here, man. Thank you so much.' Vince took another blow last May when he ended his nearly 15-year relationship with girlfriend Rain Hannah 'because one of his assistants alleged she was cheating on him' - according to TMZ . Mötley Crüe kick off their postponed 10-date Las Vegas residency on September 12 at Dolby Live at Park MGM after having to reschedule due to Neil's recovery. The band's current lineup also includes bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, and guitarist John 5 - who replaced founding member Mick Mars in 2022. The 74-year-old bass player - who retired due to ongoing health issues - is now suing his bandmates for unpaid royalties. Mötley Crüe - which averages 11.5M monthly listeners on Spotify - was founded in 1981, and they've sold over 100M records worldwide including nine Top 10 albums on the US Billboard 200 chart. The Dogs of War singer went solo from 1992-1997 and released three studio albums.
