Independence Day celebrations in modern times have evolved beyond traditional flag hoisting and parades, embracing creativity, community spirit, and digital engagement.
One popular trend is flag-themed fancy dress competitions, where children dress up as freedom fighters or wear tricolour-inspired outfits, promoting patriotism in fun and interactive ways.
Meanwhile, social media has added a digital dimension—people now share patriotic reels, stories, and messages online, spreading awareness and unity.
This season, Operation Sindoor, too, features in many I-Day products. One such hot-seller is military-themed T-shirts. Several online retail platforms have played these up with discounts and special promo packages.
The coming days are likely to see this fervour among the citizens scale up even higher.

Bad news for Salman Khan as Mumbai shoot of Battle of Galwan gets cancelled due to... Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's highly-anticipated film Battle of Galwan, based on the 2020 conflict between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley, has seen an unexpected roadblock in its shooting schedule. According to recent reports, the Mumbai shoot, initially planned for this month, got postponed as the sets constructed at Mehboob studio at Bandra are now being dismantled. Shoot of Salman Khan's Battle of Galwan postponed An insider spoke to Mid-Day and shared that the shooting is now scheduled to resume in Ladakh from August 22 to September 3, majorly focusing on the action sequences. Previous reports claimed that the makers have planned a large-scale war sequence to be shot against the dramatic landscape of Ladakh. As per sources, since Salman has donned a unique avatar for the film, shooting with a 30-day gap between locations would disrupt the continuity. 'Apoorva (Lakhia) felt that the sequences would need to be shot in succession. So, for now, the film's Mumbai schedule is postponed indefinitely. They will take a call in the last leg whether a song sequence or patch work needs to be done in the city,' the report stated. About Battle of Galwan Inspired by the true story, Battle of Galwan will reportedly see Salman playing Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer who was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his bravery during the war. The film is reportedly been made as a tribute to Indian soldiers for their unwavering sacrifices and dedication. Besides Khan, the film also boast talents including Chitrangda Singh, Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj. Meanwhile, Salman is currently gearing up for the upcoming season of Bigg Boss 19. The latest teaser unveiled a political-inspired set design, signaling a full revamp in the format.
