Lions officially sign Trystan Colon, waive new CB to make room
Lions officially sign Trystan Colon, waive new CB to make room The Detroit Lions made the signing of former Cardinals offensive lineman Trystan Colon official. In the process, Detroit also said goodbye to a player who wasn't ever seen in a Lions uniform by anyone outside the building. The NFL's transaction wire indicates the Lions added Colon to the 90-man roster and waived cornerback Divaad Wilson to make room for Colon. Wilson was added as a free agent on Monday, but his time in the den proved short. A former teammate of Colon in Arizona, Wilson was waived with injury designation after Wednesday's OTA session at the team's training facility in Allen Park. The OTA sessions Wilson was present for in Detroit were closed to the media, so we never got to see the 25-year-old in action. His injury has not been disclosed. Colon comes to the Lions from Arizona, where he was a part-time starter across the interior offensive line over two seasons with the Cardinals. He's logged 51 NFL games in five seasons, the first three spent with the Baltimore Ravens. Colon was added on a one-year deal to build up the line depth following the retirement of Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow. Where New York Giants' Russell Wilson, Malik Nabers rank among new NFL QB-WR duos
Where New York Giants' Russell Wilson, Malik Nabers rank among new NFL QB-WR duos The New York Giants' offense is expected to look significantly different with an entirely new quarterback room entering the 2025 season, but there's one constant that remains. While Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and Jaxson Dart make up the trio of newcomers in the quarterback room, the entire offense will flow through superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers, who is coming off nothing short of a sensational rookie campaign. Despite the vast inefficiencies within the Giants' offense last season, especially from the quarterback position, Nabers still produced at a high-end level. His 109 receptions were the most ever in NFL history by a rookie wide receiver. There are several new duos set to take the field across the league next season, and Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports ranked the Wilson-Nabers combo at No. 7. Russell Wilson was "meh" for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season. Sure, he helped lead them to the playoffs, but he was 0-5 down the stretch and averaged just 193.6 passing yards per game in those five contests. Despite how uninspiring Wilson's addition to New York may be, he's better than what the Giants trotted out in 2024. As a team, New York finished the 2024 season with a 77.8 passer rating, while Wilson had a 95.6 rating in 11 games played for Pittsburgh during the regular season. That illustrates what should be a tremendous leap in production at quarterback for the Giants, even if the ceiling isn't particularly high. For Malik Nabers, Wilson coming aboard is an exciting proposition. If the former LSU receiver can total 109 catches and roughly 1,200 yards with the likes of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito throwing him the football, Wilson's arrival should bring even better production. That's not even mentioning the natural development he'll enjoy entering his second season in the league. It's true that the player Wilson was with the Steelers was far from what we've come to expect from a 10-time Pro Bowl selection. He especially struggled down the stretch of the season, throwing just 10 touchdown passes over his final eight games. With that said, Nabers is already entering a tier of players that are held in the highest regard. Even if he hasn't quite reached the level yet, he's already approaching the tier that includes Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. The Giants offense has a lot to improve upon in this make-or-break season, but Nabers should continue to be a constant catalyst for whoever is under center.

Steelers WR Roman Wilson has perfect four-word description of Pittsburgh's receiver room
Steelers WR Roman Wilson has perfect four-word description of Pittsburgh's receiver room The Steelers wide receiver room may not have the biggest names in 2025, but they want to succeed more than anyone — and rookie WR Roman Wilson knows this all too well. At Day 5 of OTAs, Wilson was asked to further explain what Steelers WR Robert Woods' "grimy" comments meant for the receiver room — and this was his simple but effective response (courtesy of Steelers Live): "Getting out the mud," Wilson said. "Somebody that wants it more than other people." The Steelers will truly depend on Wilson, Woods, Calvin Austin III and DK Metcalf to 'get out the mud' in 2025 — as the George Pickens trade left Pittsburgh with similar issues to those of the 2024 wide receiver woes. Another wide receiver who may fit this bill is former Jaguars WR Gabe Davis — who is set to visit Pittsburgh on Thursday.
