Marco Rose to Rangers faces major hurdle after next manager resurgence as key RB Leipzig contract detail ‘revealed'
Rose has been without a job since leaving RB Leipzig last term but appears to have admirers within Ibrox
Out of work Marco Rose is rocketing up the next Rangers manager shortlist - but the Ibrox club could face a hefty price if they get serious about appointing the Germany.
Pharmaceutical tycoon Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are set to usher in a new era to Ibrox this summer with the hunt for Philippe Clement's permanent successor ramping up.
Steven Gerrard, Davide Ancelotti and Russell Martin have been strongly linked with the vacancy - with Rose's name drifting in recent weeks.
But bookmakers now put the 48-year-old among the favourites - with only red-hot frontrunner Gerrard trumping the German boss.
Rose has been out of work since leaving RB Leipzig earlier this season with the club struggling to reach the Champions League spots in the Bundesliga.
However, having worked for Leipzig and Austrian outfit Red Bull Salzburg his work with the energy drinks giants has reportedly put him on the incoming consortium's radar.
The San Francisco 49ers own Leeds United and work hand-in-hand with Red Bull, who own a minority stake at Elland Road and are the club's main shirt sponsors.
Incoming sporting director Kevin Thelwell is also a Red Bulls alumni - having worked at New York Red Bulls before joining Everton.
However, there is unlikely to be any financial favours from Leipzig - with BILD reporting Rose remains under contract with the club.
It is claimed his deal runs until 2026 and was put "on hold" rather than terminated - meaning potential suitors would likely have to pay compensation.
Rose was reportedly on around £3million per year at Leipzig - leaving potential suitors with the prospect of paying up the full wage should they look to bring in the boss.
The boss is also set to demand a bumper pay packet - with reports in Egypt claiming that an agreement to take charge of Al Ahly collapsed due to his mega £3.8million-per-year salary request.
But Betfair put Rose among the red-hot contenders for the Premiership vacancy with speculation at fever pitch.
Spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: 'Odds have been slashed on Marco Rose to become the next permanent Rangers manager with Ibrox chiefs yet to decide who will replace Barry Ferguson ahead of the new season.
"Rose is now the 3/1 second favourite to take the job, having been 15/2 on Friday and as long as 14/1 earlier in the week.
' Steven Gerrard remains the clear favourite at 2/9 to make a return to Ibrox, with departing Real Madrid coach Davide Ancelotti still in contention to take over at 7/2.'
Rose has previously hinted at his admiration for the Light Blues' - hailing the atmosphere on European nights having taken his Leipzig side to Govan.
He said at the time: "It was an absolutely great atmosphere here at Ibrox – great stadium, great fans. It is similar to Celtic, where I had the pleasure to be before.
"There are two great clubs here in Glasgow. It has been special – particularly, at the moment, because we do not have that many supporters in Germany."

It now seems certain he has seen off competition from Davide Ancelotti, Steven Gerrard, Brian Priske and Francesco Farioli to land the biggest job of his career. New chairman Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers Enterprises completed their Ibrox takeover last Friday. New sporting director Kevin Thelwell officially started work yesterday and promised a new head coach would be appointed in the "coming days". It's understood the appointment is unlikely to be announced today. But with recruitment chief Nils Koppen departing to be replaced by Dan Purdy - who worked with Thelwell at Everton - it's clear Gers are stepping up their overhaul. Now Martin, 39, who had a loan spell at Ibrox seven years ago, has emerged from the pack of candidates. He led Southampton into the Premier League with a play-off win over Leeds United at Wembley a year ago. But the Saints plunged straight back down after failing to recover from the horror start of one win in 16 games which cost Martin his job. Ella-Rose waiting at the finish line to greet West Lothian man running half-marathon to support her
A caring Livingston dad raised over £1,800 by running the Edinburgh Half-Marathon for a young girl in the community who's been diagnosed with a debilitating progressive genetic condition. Owen Donoghue, 44, took on the challenge to help eight-year-old Craigshill girl Ella-Rose Kennedy who has Friedreich ataxia – a disorder that causes damage to the nervous system and cerebellum, the part of the brain that deals with voluntary movements. The dad-of-six was at school with Ella-Rose's dad Michael, and now his own son is in Ella Rose's class at Howden St Andrew's Primary. The money will go directly towards supporting the P5 schoolgirl who was at the finish line as he completed the Edinburgh Half-marathon. One in every 50,0000 people are affected by Friedreich ataxia, in which nerves in the spinal cord break down leading to a deficiency of sensory signals to the brain. The condition is caused by an abnormal gene and insufficient levels of a protein named fraxatin, parents are unaffected because they only carry a single pathogenic variant, but those affected by the condition inherit variants from each of their parents. Ella-Rose's parents, Michael and Jenny, are pinning their hopes on drugs, that are currently being trialled on children, becoming available in the near future to help their daughter. But current support options are limited, with Owen determined to help out by raising funds to help with whatever he can in the meantime. Owen said: 'It's more than double the distances I've ran before but it went really well and wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. 'The weather was decent as well and it was quite straightforward. 'Wee Ella-Rose came along and was at the finish line. Her family are going to need quite a lot of money as the years go on. 'I couldn't have done it without Mel from FoxFit training me. "I'd also like to thank the local community who have been mega-supportive and the businesses around my wife's Devilish Diner café that helped me raise money – Spark, MGK Hair Design, Daisy Drop In, and the Tower Bar.'

Jude Bellingham responds to emotional message after Liverpool complete transfer
Jeremie Frimpong completed his £29.5m move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen last week, and the defender's message was liked by a number of footballing stars, including the Real Madrid and England ace Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham was among those to offer support to Liverpool new boy Jeremie Frimpong after he completed his move to Liverpool last week. The Netherlands international has signed a five-year deal at Anfield after the Merseysiders met his £29.5million release clause at previous club Bayer Leverkusen. Frimpong became Arne Slot's first signing of the summer, to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold who has joined Real Madrid. Liverpool wasted little time in announcing Frimpong's arrival, confirming his move a matter of hours after revealing they'd accepted a £10m deal with Madrid to let Alexander-Arnold move to the Bernabeu a month early. Frimpong won't be the last to move to Anfield this summer, with talks ongoing over a mega-money move for Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz. A close pal of Frimpong - the pair sat together in the changing rooms at the BayArena and drove into training together until Wirtz passed his test - the German international only wants a move to Merseyside this summer. Talks are also ongoing over a deal for Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, the Hungary left back. Dutch star Frimpong, 24, celebrated his move with his family, including his dad and brother who are both die-hard Liverpool fans. In the days after he was officially named a Liverpool player, it appeared that the news hadn't quite settled for the 24-year-old who penned an emotional message on Instagram. "Seeing the smiles on the people you love means everything," he wrote. "Grateful and honoured to be a Red. Let's get this started." The post garnered attention from some high-profile names, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch hitting 'like', alongside Jamie Gittens, the Borussia Dortmund winger who was previously rumoured to be on Liverpool's radar, and Real Madrid star Bellingham. Discussing his move, Frimpong shared in an interview with the club: "I have had a few conversations with them, Virgil has called me and told me a little bit more about Liverpool and the expectations, those types of things. And made me feel like the guys are going to welcome me well. "That's what I expect from Virgil with how he is in the national team – he's a big character, captain. They have told me good things. "Playing with world-class players as a footballer is a great feeling, it's a privilege, like 'I'm going to be next to Mo Salah '. Not just him, the whole Liverpool squad. Just Liverpool in general, this is a privilege, a blessing that I can be part of it. "But I can't wait to link up with him – hopefully we link up well. I'm excited for these things, 100 percent." Frimpong also described his own style of play enthusiastically: "I would say I'm very fast, explosive, up and down on the wing. Energetic. I can bring a lot of energy to the team."
