Man Says He Saw 'Fist Imprint' on Baby During FaceTime Call. Now Mom Is Charged with Child Abuse
A 22-year-old California woman was arrested Sunday and charged with child abuse after a friend allegedly saw a 'fist imprint' on her 11-month-old child's face.
Isaiah Polk told KRCR that he called 911 after having a FaceTime call with his friend Aleesha Ann Allen, during which he allegedly noticed bruises on the face of the woman's child.
Sheriff's deputies arrived at Allen's Shasta Lake home around 11:15 am to conduct a welfare check on the 11-month-old, per a statement from the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.
When law enforcement arrived at the home, Allen was in the process of putting the baby into a vehicle. Then, deputies 'observed the juvenile and noticed facial injuries that appeared to be deliberately inflicted and consistent with child abuse,' the statement reads.

Referencing the child's alleged injuries, Polk told KRCR: "It made me almost want to shed a tear. It was like, man, like... the way his face looked, he didn't fall off a bed. Like there was a fist imprint."
Allen was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of child abuse with possible great bodily injury/death. She's been released on her own recognizance and is now prohibited from consuming any alcohol or contacting the alleged victim, per the Shasta County District Attorney's Office.
She's also subject to GPS monitoring. Allen's next scheduled court date is April 8, 2025.
After being examined at a local hospital, the child is being cared for by family members.

Metairie man to serve 30 years for 2019, 2021 sex abuse crimes
JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Metairie man found guilty in May of drugging and sexually abusing teenagers, has been sentenced. On Thursday, June 12, the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office announced 46-year-old Thomas Welty will serve 30 years in prison convicted of: Second-degree rape and trafficking children for sexual purposes involving one victim Indecent behavior with a juvenile Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile Sexual battery of the other victim On May 20, Welty was found guilty of the crimes that happened between 2019 and 2021 with 15-year-old victims. Former OPSO employee arrested, accused of conspiring to bring drugs into Orleans Parish jail Court documents noted the abuse began during the 2019 Carnival season when Welty provided one victim with alcohol until she ultimately passed out. That's when he took her to his home and injected her with a 'highly addictive methamphetamine.' The encounter caused the victim to develop an addiction to the drug, documents noted. After raping her, Welty allowed two drug-dealing associates to do the same in exchange for narcotics (they have never been identified). During that same month, Welty had given a 'date rape' drug, GHB, to a second victim. She also passed out but woke up in the shower with Welty, according to court documents. It was also noted that the second victim rejected his sexual advances and left his house. During the trial, one victim's impact statement read: 17-year-old shot, killed in St. John the Baptist Parish 'I choose to forgive what you've done, but not for you,' the victim wrote. Trinity man convicted of rape, sodomy
Jun. 12—A Trinity man was convicted of first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy Wednesday by a Morgan County jury, according to the Morgan County District Attorney's Office. Cody Wayne Terry, 30, will be sentenced Aug. 26. He had a prior felony conviction for a violation of the Alabama Sex Offender Registration and Community Notification Act. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Joe Lewis, with Circuit Judge Stephen Brown presiding. Officers with the Decatur Police Department were dispatched to a residence on 20th Avenue Southwest in reference to a rape in April 2021. There they met with the victim, "who had two swollen black eyes, bruising to her face and neck, and injuries to her lips. The victim advised she had been raped and beaten by an acquaintance, who threatened to kill her if she screamed," according to the District Attorney's Office. Terry was confirmed as the assailant through DNA analysis. "We certainly appreciate the jury's service in this case.
