It Looks Like Taylor Swift Won't Be Releasing "Reputation (Taylor's Version)" — Here's Why

Yahoo5 days ago

It's a great day for Taylor Swift fans — kinda?
The Grammy-winning singer posted on Instagram today that — surprise! — she now owns all of her music again. If you recall, there was a whole to-do about Scooter Braun supposedly buying her masters, which meant that, essentially, Taylor's music didn't belong to her. That caused Taylor to re-record several of her albums, calling them "(Taylor's Version)." But now, it appears that it won't be necessary for Taylor to re-record any more of her discography.
"You belong with me," Taylor wrote in the caption of her Instagram post, which includes photos of her with all of her old albums spread out around her. She also dropped a letter on her website explaining what this all means, and that's the part that has fans conflicted.

"All of the music I've ever made... now belongs... to me," she wrote. "And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs ... To say this is my greatest dream come true is actually being pretty reserved about it."
You can read the full letter on her website.
Taylor then goes on to talk about the project that her fans have been eagerly awaiting for many months now: Reputation (Taylor's Version), or Rep TV for short. "I know. I know. What about Rep TV?" she wrote. "Full transparency: I haven't even re-recorded a quarter of it. The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it."

This news shocked fans, many of whom have assumed that Rep TV was already recorded, and have been trying to guess for a while now when it will be released. While fans are thrilled that Taylor owns her music again, there's definitely an undercurrent of slight disappointment that the sleeper-favorite album won't get a re-release.
Taylor did note in her letter that she has finished re-recording her debut self-titled album, which she hinted that she might release sometime in the near future.
And concerning Rep TV, she also mentioned that, "There will be a time (if you're into the idea) for the vault tracks from that album to hatch." She even suggested that she may revisit her re-recording of Reputation and release it, so there's still hope.
In any case, if you're a Swiftie, congratulations — you can now listen to those original albums on Spotify guilt-free, knowing that they're back in Tay-Tay's posession.

Harris Dickinson Talks Taking On 'Iconic' Mr Darcy As His Next Role

If you thought that Jane Austen's Mr Darcy couldn't get any better than Colin Firth's 1995 wet-shirt portrayal, then you might just need to think again, based on the latest news that actor Harris Dickinson will portray the writer's most famous love interest. To celebrate Jane Austen's 250th birthday this year Audible, creator of audio storytelling, will launch an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice with the Babygirl actor starring opposite Bafta-winning actor Marisa Abela (Industry and Back to Black) as Elizabeth Bennet. FIND OUT MORE ON ELLE COLLECTIVE Other cast members include Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Bill Nighy, Will Poulter, Jessie Buckley, Sophie Wilde, David Gyasi, Rosalind Eleazar and Glenn we're already hooked. Premiering on September 9, Dickinson says that it's the enduring appeal of the period drama that attracted him to the role: 'Playing Mr. Darcy was an amazing experience. I've always known him as this iconic character, but getting to really dive into the novel through this process gave me a whole new appreciation for him and the world. Being part of such a talented cast made it even better. It's a real privilege to be part of something so timeless.' While Marisa Abela says that Elizabeth Bennet, who will share far more of her inner world in this adaptation, 'is one of the most fiercely intelligent and iconic characters in literature and stepping into her shoes has been an incredible honour. What I love about this adaptation is how it lets us hear her inner world in such a vivid, intimate way.' It sure is going to be intimate – one of the most popular reasons people chose to listen to Audible books, whether for company on a commute or as part of a wind-down routine, is to experience storytelling more directly. And Dickinson finds himself in good company: the role of Mr Darcy has been portrayed by Laurence Olivier in 1940 and by Matthew Macfadyen in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation for the big screen. Meanwhile, earlier this year Netflix announced that Dolly Alderton, agony aunt and author of the chart-topping Everything I Know About Love, is writing the screenplay for a Pride and Prejudice series starring ELLE UK's recent cover star Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden. 'Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it,' Dolly Alderton said at the time of the announcement. A truth universally acknowledged that it's going to be a good year for Pride and Prejudice fans. And in the meantime, there's always Jane Austen dressing to see you through. Jelly Roll Hits A Career Peak On Multiple Charts With His New Smash

Jelly Roll's global profile has been growing for years now, but he has found the greatest commercial success in the United States, his home country. His music has recently begun taking off in the United Kingdom, thanks largely to a handful of popular collaborations. The multi-genre superstar — who has scored hits in America on hip-hop, country, rock, and pop rankings — rises higher than ever on a number of tallies across the Atlantic by joining forces with one of the hottest newcomers in the global music industry for a quick new smash. Jelly joins Alex Warren on his new single 'Bloodline,' which reaches multiple U.K. charts this frame. The tune debuts on four rosters, becoming a top 20 success on all of them and adding meaningfully to Jelly's short list of wins in each instance, as he hits a new career peak on every roster where the single debuts. Perhaps most excitingly, 'Bloodline' launches inside the top 10 on the Official Singles chart, the ranking of the most consumed songs in the U.K. The Warren duet opens at No. 9, far outpacing the No. 67 peak of 'Lonely Road,' Jelly's previous team-up with MGK (formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly). The same tune is also a win on the purchase-only tallies. Jelly collects his fourth career hit on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts, where 'Bloodline' launches at Nos. 14 and 12, respectively. The cut marks his first top 20 on the general sales list and his second on the downloads-only roster. On that ranking, 'Lonely Road' peaked at No. 20, so he easily claims a new high point. 'Bloodline' is also a top 20 winner on the Official Streaming chart, which looks only at plays on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others. On that tally, Warren and Jelly launch their collaboration at No. 16. It earns the American musician his first placement on this format-specific list, which is surprising, given the popularity of some of his past releases. While Jelly has been racking up hits in a number of countries, including the U.K., for some time, it's Warren's newfound popularity that is largely to thank for the success of 'Bloodline' this week. In addition to scoring a new top 10, Warren leads the charge once again with his cut 'Ordinary.' That track has ruled the main songs list in the country for 11 weeks, and it has proved to be one of the biggest successes of 2025 and a true breakout smash for the singer-songwriter.

Jessie J Breast Cancer Diagnosis Explained

British pop star Jessie J has revealed that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The announcement came via an Instagram post, where the Grammy-nominated singer opened up about her ongoing health journey. The diagnosis arrived just before she released her vulnerable track 'No Secrets' in April 2025. On June 3, singer-songwriter Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, shared with her followers that she was diagnosed with early breast cancer shortly before releasing her song 'No Secrets.' In her words, 'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.' The diagnosis came as a surprise during a busy period in her career, and she admitted to being in and out of medical tests since then. Despite the seriousness of the news, Jessie said she had not fully processed the diagnosis because of her workload, but felt a need to open up. 'I just wanted to be open and share it because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough… Sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories.' The British star also spoke about how surreal it felt to be dealing with such a heavy personal issue while promoting songs titled 'No Secrets' and 'Living My Best Life.' She even joked about doing a remix called 'Living My Breast Life,' saying, 'You can't make it up.' Jessie J, known for hits like 'Price Tag,' 'Domino,' and 'Bang Bang,' emphasized that her breast cancer diagnosis does not mark a full stop but just a pause. She assured fans that more music is on the way. Her latest track, 'Living My Best Life,' released on May 16, is part of her upcoming sixth studio album. 'These last 2 months have been so amazing, and having this go on alongside it on the sidelines has given me the most incredible perspective. BUT… Your girl needs a hug.'
