Gunman fled in Cadillac after shooting man to death on Brooklyn street
The gunman wanted for fatally shooting a 45-year-old man in the head on a Brooklyn street fled in a Cadillac, cops said Sunday as they released a photo of the suspect.
Steven Battle was shot on Rockaway Ave. near Somers St. in the Ocean Hill section of Bedford-Stuyvesant about 2:40 am. Saturday, cops said. Medics rushed him to Kings County Hospital but he could not be saved.
Cops released a surveillance photo of the suspect early Sunday and asked the public's help tracking him down. He fled in a black four-door Cadillac sedan, according to police.
The suspect is described as having a dark complexion, slim build, braids and facial hair. He wore a dark blue hoodie, light gray jeans and black-and-white sneakers.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Family gathers to remember victims, push for justice in unsolved Metroparks murders
CLEVELAND (WJW) – Six years later, the family and friends of Kate Brown and Carnell Sledge are still pushing for answers. Donning orange shirts to mark National Gun Violence Awareness Month, they gathered at the Rocky River Reservation on Saturday near the bench where the two were found shot to death in 2019. They placed signs with information on them along the Valley Parkway and set up a table to hand out yard signs, flyers and car magnets. 'We're just doing anything that we possibly can to keep their case in the spotlight. We want people to talk about it. We want people to share memories, to say their names, to not have them be forgotten.' UPDATED: A man died after a hookah lounge shooting months ago. Another was shot there this weekend
Abilene police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at the Bravo Hookah Lounge, according to a media release. This is the second shooting within a year at the lounge. A man was fatally wounded there in October. At approximately 2 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of a discharge of a firearm at the Bravo Hookah Lounge, 706 N. Sixth St., in north Abilene, according to a police news release. Officers arrived and located a man with a gunshot wound, the release said. Medical responders arrived on scene and rendered aid to the victim who was transported to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, the release said. The suspect was not located at the scene, and police are continuing to investigate. Police are looking for information on this assault. Mills was booked into the Taylor County Jail on Oct. 30 and released on a $250,000 surety bond on Oct. 31, according to online jail records.
