Saba Yemen21-06-2025
Ibb - Saba:
Governor Abdulwahab Salah of Ibb inaugurated on Saturday a veterinary vaccination campaign targeting small ruminants and sheep pox, along with efforts to combat internal and external parasites and treat livestock diseases.
The campaign, implemented by the Agriculture Sector in cooperation with the General Administration of Animal Health and Veterinary Quarantine, aims to vaccinate and treat 1,053,900 heads of small ruminants and livestock across 17 districts of the province.
During the launch, Governor Salah emphasized the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in developing the livestock sector and protecting it from diseases and epidemics to achieve food security, self-sufficiency, and strengthen national economic resources.
He highlighted the importance of such campaigns in safeguarding livestock from fatal diseases, preserving their health, and improving productivity, as they serve as a primary income source for most rural families.
Governor Salah praised the high level of preparation and organization of the campaign, as well as the discipline of its technical teams in carrying out field visits to all targeted districts. He urged participants to reach all animals in villages and remote areas to eliminate diseases effectively.
He also called on citizens and livestock breeders to cooperate with the field veterinary teams to ensure the campaign's success in achieving its goals.
Meanwhile, Engineer Hammoud Al-Rassas, the head of the Agricultural Sector in the province, explained that the campaign aims to vaccinate 537,000 sheep and goats, combat parasites, and treat 516,900 heads of livestock suffering from diseases.
The 20-day campaign will be carried out by 37 field teams, consisting of 156 participants, across the districts of Al-Sadda, Al-Sabra, Al-Radmah, Badan, Al-Makha'ir, Al-Nadirah, Al-Adain, Al-Hazm, Yarim, Dhi Al-Sufal, Jablah, Habish, Al-Sha'ar, Al-Sayani, and rural Ibb, under the supervision of local and central teams.
Al-Rassas noted that the campaign includes vaccinating small ruminants against peste des petits ruminants (PPR), sheep pox, lumpy skin disease, and treating internal and external parasites and other diseases. He described the campaign as an extension of previous efforts in the province.
Additionally, the campaign includes awareness activities for farmers and livestock breeders on disease prevention and control methods. Vaccines, medicines, and necessary supplies have already been distributed to the participating veterinary teams.
Al-Rassas appreciated the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the local authorities in enhancing the agricultural sector's ability to protect livestock and prevent losses caused by deadly diseases, which negatively impact farmers' incomes and the national economy.

Nasser Medical Complex: Aid Entering Gaza Does Not Reach Those Who Deserve It

Gaza - Saba: Ahmed Al-Farra, director of the Children's Hospital at Nasser Medical Complex, said that the aid entering the Gaza Strip is merely a smokescreen and does not reach those who deserve it. In press statements on Friday, Al-Farra stressed the need to allow the entry of baby formula and basic supplies. He added, "Aid must reach the warehouses of international organizations known for their transparent distribution." The World Food Programme indicated that one in three people in Gaza spends days without food, adding that "75% are facing emergency levels of hunger." He explained that approximately 25% of the population of the Gaza Strip is suffering from famine-like conditions. Since March 2, 2025, the Israeli occupation authorities have closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip and prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, causing famine to spread within the Strip. Al-Dameer: 54 Palestinians Still Missing Near Aid Centers in Gaza

Gaza – SABA The Palestinian human rights group Al-Dameer Foundation reported Sunday that 54 Palestinians remain missing after heading to Israeli-American aid distribution points in Gaza. The foundation said in a press statement that Israeli forces have not disclosed the fate of those individuals, and they are currently listed as missing persons. According to Safa News Agency, the number of such cases continues to rise, especially near aid zones that have become targets of frequent attacks. The organization warned that lack of safe aid distribution mechanisms is contributing directly to the increase in disappearances. It further revealed that Israeli forces are preventing retrieval of bodies from around these centers, and in some cases, resort to bulldozing them rather than allowing families or rescue teams to collect the dead. Al-Dameer also documented arbitrary detentions, including children, among those waiting for humanitarian aid. Earlier today, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that the total number of 'Aid Victims'—civilians targeted while queuing for food—has now reached: 1,487 fatalities 10,578 injuries since May 27, 2025. These figures are part of the broader toll of Israel's ongoing war on Gaza, which, as of August 3, has killed 60,839 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and wounded 149,588 others. Thousands remain under rubble or inaccessible due to the ongoing attacks and siege on rescue efforts. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)

Gaza Health Ministry: Hospitals drowning in sea of injuries, patient numbers exceed capacity

Gaza – Saba: The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza stated on Saturday that the Strip's hospitals are "drowning in a sea of injuries, with patient and casualty numbers far exceeding capacity." In a statement received by Yemen's Saba News Agency, the ministry reported: - Al-Shifa Hospital at 240% capacity - Al-Rantisi Hospital at 210% capacity - Nasser Hospital at 180% capacity - Al-Ahli Arab Hospital at 300% capacity Hospitals have resorted to lining corridors and floors with patients to accommodate overflow. The ministry renewed urgent appeals to the international community and UN agencies for immediate, effective support to Gaza's collapsing healthcare system. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli enemy army—with American and European support—has committed genocidal crimes resulting in: - 60,332 Palestinian martyrs (mostly women/children) - 147,643 injured (incomplete count, thousands still trapped under rubble) Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)
