President Trump was joined by first lady Melania Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino in the stands looking down at the pitch.
Pictures show the trio standing side-by-side as the US national anthem was performed pre match.
When they were first shown on the big screen, a rapturous applause could be heard across the huge stadium.
Trump - standing in his traditional navy suit and long red tie - held a proud salute during the Star Spangled Banner performance
His wife Melania also held her hand up across her chest honouring America's brave troops.
She stunned in a luxury white dress, thick Christian Dior sunglasses and a black coat which sat over her shoulders.
Infantino hosted the couple in the executive suit just weeks after he spoke with Trump in the White House about the 2026 World Cup.
The global tournament is set to take place across the United States, Mexico and Canada and will include a new expanded 48-team format.
MetLife Stadium is poised to host the FIFA World Cup final - marking the first time the US will hold the feted event since 1994.
Today's game between two European cup winners has already been labelled as a dress rehearsal for soccer's biggest game in less than 12 months time.
As the game kicked off between the French champions and Champions League holders PSG and Conference League winners Chelsea, Trump and Melania took to their seats.
They were seen eagerly watching on as Trump beamed with joy as Chelsea took an early lead through two Cole Palmer goals.
Melania and Don landed in New Jersey earlier in the day on Marine One.
They touched down at Teterboro Airport before getting a motorcade to the stadium.
Donald Trump Jr, his partner, and Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff were all also in attendance at the match.
Trump's appearance came on the one-year anniversary of the assassination attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Lone gunman Thomas Crooks, 20, unleashed a volley of shots at Trump in an attack that pierced the top of his ear and left him with blood smeared on his cheek.
The shocking events sparked the biggest security crisis the US had faced since the shooting of Ronald Reagan in 1981.

Ever since, presidential security ops in the US have taken a step up with Trump always closely guarded wherever he goes.
At the Club World Cup, dozens of highly trained Secret Service snipers surrounded the MetLife Stadium.
They stood in the rafters of the mammoth ground with binoculars firmly scouting the supporters as they entered the stands.
Trump has taken a liking to global sports events since he regained the presidency earlier this year.
Back in February, he became the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl.
He has also been at multiple UFC events across the past seven months alongside pal Dana White.
The President even revealed plans to host a UFC title fight at the White House next year to celebrate America's 250th birthday.
The historic championship punch up could take place on the presidential lawn and draw in over 20,000 guests.

England crowned Euro 2025 champions after beating Spain on penalties

England have retained their European title after beating Spain 3-1 on penalties in the Euro 2025 final. The Lionesses went down in the first half after a header by Spain's Mariona Caldentey in the 25th minute, but they pulled it back with a goal from her Arsenal teammate Alessia Russo to finish the match 1-1 following extra time. They then went on to beat the world champions after a tense penalty shoot-out, with Chloe Kelly firing in the winner. England fans had watched on nervously as they once again found themselves behind in a crucial Euros tie. Fans draped in England flags joined the Prince of Wales and his daughter, Princess Charlotte, in holding their heads in their hands as Caldentey put Spain 1-0 up in the final on Sunday. A nervous atmosphere transformed into a jubilant one at Boxpark Croydon as Russo's header found the net, with England flags being waved and supporters hugging each other during the celebrations. Fans across the country watched nervously as the Lionesses then took to the penalty spot, but they came out on top, beating Spain 3-1. Hannah Hampton made several spectacular saves in the shootout before Kelly netted the dramatic winner after Sama Paralluelo's miss. This was the Lionesses' third major consecutive final - and the third time they have faced Spain this year. England were the last team to defeat Spain earlier this year at Wembley, but they played again in June, and then the Lionesses lost a tight contest. This was the first time a Women's World Cup final has been repeated in the following Women's Euros, according to UEFA. However, it has happened the other way round, with Germany beating Sweden in the Euros, followed by the World Cup in 2001.

England win Euro 2025 despite new penalty rule that could have cost Lionesses everything

Beth Mead was forced to retake her opening penalty in the Euro 2025 final against Spain after slipping and kicking the ball twice - and was then denied from the spot. The incident was similar to the one involving Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez in the Champions League earlier this season: his goal was ruled out, though a new rule has since been implemented to allow 'double touch' kicks to be retaken rather than instantly being ruled out. The IFAB amended the rules with article 14.1 of the laws of the game which reads: 'The kicker must not play the ball again until it has touched another player. The penalty kick is completed when the ball stops moving, goes out of play or the referee stops play for any offence.' That meant Mead was given the chance to retake her penalty. She was then thwarted from the spot the second time around by Cata Coll. But Hannah Hampton saved two penalties in a row to help England clinch a stunning 3-1 victory on penalties. Chloe Kelly, so often the England hero during this tournament and ultimate matchwinner three years ago, stepped up to plunder the winning penalty to help the Lionesses make history by retaining their European crown. Her winning penalty sparked jubilant scenes on the pitch and in the stands in Switzerland, capping another remarkable comeback from England. The result means the Lionesses have extracted a measure of revenge on Spain, who beat them in the 2023 World Cup final.

Eagle-eyed fans left stunned at where England keeper Hannah Hampton kept her penalty ‘cheat sheet' before stunning win

ENGLAND fans were left stunned after spotting where goalkeeper Hannah Hampton kept her penalty 'cheat sheet'. The 24-year-old saved two penalties in the shootout to help the Lionesses to Euro 2025 glory against Spain. 4 4 The two teams were tied 1-1 after 90 minutes and extra-time meaning the dreaded spot-kicks were the only way to separate them. Before the women stepped up for their date with destiny, Hampton was spotted near the dugout in conversation with the coaching staff. And there on her forearm was a sticker that had the top tips on how to deny the opposition penalty takers. Many goalkeepers keep such notes on their water bottle but with the obvious danger of it being taken - there was no way Hampton was risking that. And it worked with the Chelsea keeper denying Mariona Caldentey and then Aitana Bonmati. Chloe Kelly proved the hero as she scored the winning penalty to bag the silverware. One fan wrote: "That's some serious preparation! Confidence is key in those moments." Another posted: "We're going up a level with dark arts." 4 4 And one wrote: "Notes on Hampton's arm will go down in folklore if she wins this final." And win it she did. But there was drama all the way. Mead slipped, kicking the ball twice as she scored and had to retake the opener, which was then saved. Alex Greenwood and Niamh Charles finished theirs with a clinical touch before skipper Williamson saw hers saved. The Spaniards had wasted their chances to win this all night and, having gone ahead in the shootout, never scored again. And it was left to the ever-popular Kelly to win it with a hop, step and jump to send the crowd into raptures and cement Wiegman's legendary status. England led for a single minute in the knockouts and are champions.
