‘This niche fragrance gets me more compliments than any other - and it's £25!'

Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more As a beauty journalist, I've tried more perfumes than I care to admit. My shelves are stacked with plenty of bottles from big-name designer scents to buzzy celeb launches and yet, this little-known niche perfume is the one I keep coming back to. But after years of spritzing and sniffing, I'd finally found a fragrance that stands out and funnily enough, almost no one's heard of it – which is, what I think, makes it so special. From Diem, a London-based fragrance house that's changed how we shop for scent by offering gender-neutral, sustainable scents in small batches and 10ml bottles, comes Love Tangle Eau de Parfum. This surprising fragrance is described by Diem as a scent for the wild at heart. It smells like fragrant honeysuckle and roses winding through overgrown countryside hedgerows, like blackcurrants ripening in the sun, and its warm, musky base really clings to your skin. It starts off bright and juicy, but dries down into something warmer and more grounded. It's the kind of scent that people will ask about – trust me. Featuring notes of cassis, peony, musk and sandalwood make Diem's Love Tangle Eau de Parfum a fruity, feminine scent that lingers on the skin for hours. It's a fresh, youthful scent but sophisticated at the same time. BUY NOW FOR £25 After spritzing it on pulse points and setting foot outside, someone actually stopped me in the street to ask what fragrance I was wearing and, if you're based in London, you'll know this to be a very rare event! If you're thinking that niche fragrance brands don't have a lot to offer in comparison to the likes of say, Dior or YSL, you'd be sadly mistaken. Diem is quietly gaining fans among fragrance lovers and beauty editors alike. As a British fragrance house, it's all about telling stories and conveying emotion through scent. Who hasn't had a memory evoked by a certain fragrance before? More Trending What's so great is that shoppers can purchase the brand's smaller 10ml bottles so you're never wasting product or tossing out a half-used, gone-off bottle. The brand's heart is in sustainability too. Ingredients are all sourced from ethical, environmentally-conscious suppliers, and they've cut back on excess packaging wherever possible. Scent is such a personal thing but, (maybe this is just me) I'm finding more often than not, we're all wearing the same ones. Baccarat Rouge 540, Santal 33, and Black Opium, are all gorgeous and smell amazing, but they just don't feel unique anymore. That's why I'm going to stick to my Diem Love Tangle Eau de Parfum vehemently, and continue to share my love for niche fragrance houses and their incredible scents. I purchased a '£20 pouffe' from Dunelm and it's a been a game changer for my lounge

In an effort to make lounging about at home even more comfortable, I recently invested in a soft velvety pouffe from Dunelm. With selected colours now half price, this could be your sign to invest in one too. The Eliza Pouffe in Thistle has been reduced from £40 to £20 online. Made from soft velvet with neat piped edges, the plush accessory adds an 'elegant' touch to any seating area. I originally purchased the pouffe in a beige colour, paying full price for the privilege. An automatic upgrade to my living room, I immediately went back and got another one. Soft and plush, the Eliza pouffe is perfect for putting your feet up after a long day. Thanks to its lightweight design, it means I can move it around to find the perfect position when plonked in front of the telly. The velvet introduces a rich texture, making the space feel warm and cosy. While I did question the sanity of buying a light-coloured piece of furniture that people would put their feet on, the pouffe still looks as good as new. Filled with poly beads, it feels firm enough to stop tired legs from sinking while still feeling soft and comfy against the skin. I haven't seen the beads sink too much yet, but I assume that they can be refilled if they start to sag. Being able to pop my feet up has been a real game changer - it makes my seating area more comfortable without having to fork out for an expensive foot stool. While I love my pouffes, other alternatives are also available. Argos, for example, is selling the Habitat Fabric Storage Footstool in a choice of rich moss green colour for £50. Not quite as versatile as the Dunelm pouffe, this model has handy storage to keep smaller items out of sight. Elsewhere on Amazon, the Icon Milano Velvet Bean Bag Pouffe comes in six colours and is currently reduced with prices from £37.99. Shoppers have given it a 4.6 out of five-star rating, calling it "excellent quality" and "great value for money." The stylish Eliza Pouffe has earned glowing feedback on the Dunelm website, boasting an impressive average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars from over 120 reviews. One buyer said: 'Comfy. So comfy, great after a hard day's work. Don't know why I didn't get one ages ago.' Another called it " very comfortable and stylish,' while a third added: "Lovely and comfortable, just right for tired legs, and it looks great too. Would definitely recommend it." Not all Dunelm shoppers were quite so impressed, with some mentioning that the 'orange umber' shade appeared different in person than it did online. One reviewer wrote: "It's a good pouffe, quite comfortable. But it's not orange by any stretch—more of a brown or magenta tone. That was disappointing, as I was expecting a true orange." Overall most buyers were happy with their purchase, even those who paid full price. A five-star review summed it up saying: "A wonderful room accessory. I'm thrilled with my Eliza Pouffe. It's an elegant addition to my room and looks far more expensive than it was."

Remember Jeffrey Campbell's sky-high shoe boots? They're back a decade later!

Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more First there were rumours of Topshop returning to the high street, then there was speculation bandage dresses à la Hervé Léger are making a comeback, and now Jeffrey Campbell's killer heeled shoe boots have hit the shelves once again. Anyone would think we've hopped in a time machine and landed in 2010. Gen Z may not recognise the reference, but millennials will no doubt back us when we say you haven't lived until you've ditched your smartphone in favour of your Samsung flip phone, digital camera, physical cash, Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse caked on your face, concealer lips, your boldest bodycon dress, and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell's sky-high studded heeled ankle boots, and the tightest leather jacket you could squeeze into. What a time to be alive! Now, we know nostalgiacore is rife, but never did we see the day we would be dusting off our dancing shoes in the form of the sky-high studded heeled ankle boots, especially now kitten heels are the shoes we are reaching for on a night out, and after years of wearing trainers to bars, which felt controversial for many millennials at first. Whether you are a millennial reliving the trend once again, or you're new to the heeled shoe boot trend, Jeffrey Campbell's are the cream of the crop. The iconic heeled shoe boot is back. It boasts a sleek black leather exterior, block wooden heel and synthetic sole for comfort, as well as a lace up front. The heel measures 12.7cm in height, and available in UK shoe sizes 3 to 8, though it doesn't come in half sizes. BUY NOW FOR £154 If you don't believe us, just look at Taylor Swift who was spotted earlier this year wearing a pair of Larroudé's patent block heel lace ups, which she teamed with a lace mini dress and rara skirt (another noughties reference we lived in in our teen years to under 18s club). On a late night doomscroll we stumbled across Jeffrey Campbell heels at Schuh, and had to wipe our bleary eyes to make sure we were seeing things clearly. Though, it is also available to shop from Jeffrey Campbell's website, as well as Free People. More Trending Jeffrey Campbell's Lita heels boast the same synonymous features now as the shoes did a decade or so ago. The shoes offer a staggeringly high block heel, a pointed close toe, lace up front, and reach the ankle. While some ankle boots hug the nape of the ankle, some styles rise a little higher up the ankle. Some designs have been crafted from plain leather, while others feature a studded ankle detailing, or bold design to resemble the American flag. The statement shoes can be paired with dresses, both maxi and mini length, skirts of all lengths, as well as jeans and a biker jacket. So, don't be put off by what appears to be an ankle-breaking heel height because these heeled boots kept us upright on many a sticky Oceana dance floor (much to our surprise), and are more versatile than you assume. The heels range in price from £148 to £189 at Schuh. Considering this style has made a revival, it is a worthy investment you can hand down through the generations because we believe this trend will undoubtedly make a revival again in the future.
