2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions
The PGA Tour is in Texas this week for the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, which is hosted by TPC Craig Ranch. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is in the field as the heavy favorite, with Texas' own Jordan Spieth also teeing it up. Below, we look at CJ Cup Byron Nelson odds from BetMGM Sportsbook's odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions.
In addition to Texas natives Scheffler and Spieth, Sungjae Im, Byeong Hun An and 2024 champion Taylor Pendrith are also playing this week at TPC Craig Ranch. Will Zalatoris and Tom Kim are other big names in the field as they look to claim the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
TPC Craig Ranch is a par 72 and plays at 7,414 yards long. It's a course that yields low scores each year, with the winner finishing between 23-under and 26-under in the last 4 years. Pendrith won with a score of 23-under last year after Jason Day finished 23-under to win in 2023, as well; Day is not in the field this year, however.

Byeong Hun An (+2200)
An has played this event the last 2 years and finished 14th and fourth. After tying for 21st at the Masters, he came in 38th at the RBC Heritage. For a course that typically yields a lot of birdies and lessens the need for accuracy off the tee, An should be a good fit once again this year after 2 encouraging finishes.
Stephan Jaeger (+3500)
Jaeger has played here in the last 3 years, with his best finish being an 11th-place showing in 2023. He also came in 38th in 2022 and 20th last year, so he's gotten familiar with TPC Craig Ranch.
CJ Cup Byron Nelson picks – Contenders
Nicolai Hojgaard (+5500)
After starting the year strong, Hojgaard has missed the cut in each of his last 4 individual events. However, he may have gotten on track in the Zurich Classic alongside his twin brother Rasmus. They finished alone in second, only 1 shot off the lead. This is his tournament debut but it's a fairly simply course, so experience isn't a huge deal.
Jake Knapp (+5500)
Knapp came in eighth in his tournament debut last year and will look to improve on that this week. For a guy who can get wild with his driver, the forgiveness of TPC Craig Ranch bodes well for him. Not to mention, he and Frankie Capan III finished third at the Zurich Classic on Sunday. This is a good time to buy some stock in Knapp.
CJ Cup Byron Nelson picks – Long shots
Michael Thorbjornsen (+6600)
The 23-year-old Thorbjornsen is trending up with finishes of second at the Corales Puntacana Championship and fourth at the Zurich Classic alongside Karl Vilips. He's never played this event before, but his game is in great form so it may not matter much.
Rico Hoey (+8000)
Hoey missed the cut in his first trip to TPC Craig Ranch last year. He had a strong stretch this March where he finished between 25th and 33rd in 3 straight starts before alternating missed cuts and top-12s in his last 5 starts.

Bengals Move Joe Burrow Schedule Amid Hendrickson Controversy
Maybe it's all a coincidence ... just like the Cincinnati Bengals having selected Texas A&M pass rusher Shemar Stewart in the 2025 NFL Draft had nothing to do with the foreshadowing the team's plan for current edge rusher Trey Hendrickson. But the timing of a new Joe Burrow move is certainly notable. Advertisement Hendrickson is desirous of a hefty contract extension with the Bengals after his fourth year in Cincy. He topped the NFL in sacks last year with 17.5, meeting that total now in back-to-back seasons. Is Cincy giving up on him? Doubtful. Even with the young addition in Stewart. But Cincy is pulling the plug on negotiations, Hendrickson is now claiming, adding that the Bengals essentially lied to him about their plans to up his salary. "The (contract) offers prior to the draft did not reflect the vision we shared and were promised last offseason if I continued to play at a high level,'' Hendrickson tells ESPN. "Coaches are aware of these past conversations.'' Advertisement And, as things have turned ugly, Bengals QB Joe Burrow - who has been vocal and supportive of the idea of management paying to keep the gang together - is in the news due to a schedule change. Burrow was initially scheduled to speak with local reporters on Tuesday. But in the wake of this statement from Hendrickson - maybe just coincidentally - the Bengals have told local reporters that they have pushed the press conference to Tuesday, May 20. Maybe by then ... the Hendrickson heat will have cooled? The player is asserting that the Bengals have shut down talks altogether. ... and he's obviously angry about it. Advertisement "Rather than using collaboration to get us to a point to bring me home to the team, THEY are no longer communicating,'' he said. "I have been eagerly awaiting a resolution of this situation, but that's hard to do when there is no discussion and an evident lack of interest in reaching mutual goals. The Athletic recently reported that things were moving in the right direction. That is clearly not quite accurate, as the claim that they are "getting really good vibes coming out of Cincy that they're going to try to get a deal done with Trey'' does not jibe at all with this news. Like he has done for past deals, quarterback Burrow is adding to the "good vibes" by campaigning to keep Hendrickson with the Bengals. Advertisement Cincinnati was able to sign Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. ... and Burrow would love to talk about those deals, no doubt. And eventually, he will. But not now. Maybe just due to a coincidence. Related: Hendrickson Releases Angry Statement As Bengals Fans Panic

Matteo Manassero and Ryan Fox share the 3rd-round lead in the RBC Canadian Open
CALEDON, Ontario (AP) — Matteo Manassero and Ryan Fox each shot 6-under 64 on Saturday to share the third-round lead in the RBC Canadian Open, the final event before the U.S. Open next week at Oakmont. Manassero rebounded from a three-putt bogey on the par-4 17th with a birdie on the par-5 18th — hitting an 80-yard third shot to 2 feet — to get to 14-under 196 on the North Course at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley. 'I missed the short one on 17, and I did miss a couple more short ones today,' Manassero said. 'I try to think of them just like a shot really, like a driver, like a 6-iron, whatever. It's just a shot. So I don't want it to get in my head, and I don't want that to ruin anything or my attitude going towards the next shots.' Trying to win for the first time on the PGA Tour, the 32-year-old Italian player has eight international victories. 'I try to get a good attitude, a good thought process, talk well to myself. Very basic things,' Manassero said. 'I've matured a lot and I have a better perspective towards, for example, a day like tomorrow." Fox also birdied the 18th. The 38-year-old player from New Zealand won the Myrtle Beach Classic last month in a playoff for his first PGA Tour title. 'To be honest, everything went pretty right,' Fox said. 'I drove it great. I think if you do that round here, you give yourself lots of chances. Had a lot of good wedge shots, holed a few putts early. Just played really solid kind of stress-free golf for the most part.' Lee Hodges, Kevin Yu and Matt McCarty were a stroke back. Hodges and Yu shot 63, and McCarty had a 64. Canadian Mackenzie Hughes (64) was 12 under with Jake Knapp (66) and Andrew Putnam (68). 'I've been putting the ball in play quite a bit, driving it pretty nice,' Hughes said. 'I feel like that's taken some pressure off the putter and the short game. It's a big key around here. You start driving it well, you can attack and be aggressive.' Canadian Nick Taylor, the 2023 winner at Oakville, eagled the 18th for a 69 to get to 10 under. Countrymen Adam Hadwin (65) and Taylor Pendrith (67) also were 10 under. ___
