The collaboration project will see Aldi work with its wine suppliers and bottling partner Greencroft.
New lighter wine bottles will be introduced as part of the retailers ongoing commitment to reducing unnecessary packaging.
The new bottles will weigh in at a staggeringly low 300g.
This takes the average weight across the range from 409g to just 371g.
Additional bottles with reduced weights are expected to follow later in the year.
Aldi will be the first UK supermarket to make the massive change.
The new 300g bottles are now being used for popular lines such as Grapevine Sauvignon Blanc and Grapevine Merlot.
The move is part of a broader initiative that has seen the supermarket reduce bottle weights since 2022.
Aldi has said this has resulted in the removal of approximately 12.7 million empty bottles from circulation each year.
Luke Emery, National Sustainability Director at Aldi UK, said: 'We're always looking for practical ways to reduce our environmental footprint while continuing to deliver the unbeatable quality and value our customers expect.

'By working closely with our wine suppliers, we're introducing a simple yet impactful change that's already cutting down on materials and associated carbon.
"It's one of the many steps we're taking as we continue to explore how we can continue to reduce bottle weights across our range and make our products more sustainable over time.'
Aldi's new wine bottles will weigh a whopping 65 grams less than the standard 365 gram bottles.
The retailer has said the roll out of the new bottles has already begun and will be completed by 2025.
A statement on the Aldi website reads: "Who said that wine bottles must be made of glass, measuring 750 milliliters, and weighing 365 grams?
"Following our mission to optimise packaging, we discovered new and creative ways to package the so-called drink of the gods.
"All versions indicated a significant reduction in raw material use, as well as a decrease in carbon emissions - as they say, many roads lead to Rome."

The Aldi grocery item crowned Australia's best - as shoppers race to stock up before it sells out

Shoppers are going wild for Aldi 's Lazzio coffee after it was officially crowned the best coffee in Australia - again. The budget supermarket's exclusive brew has taken out the prestigious Overall Champion - Large Chain category at the 2025 Golden Bean Australasia Awards, marking the sixth time in seven years that Aldi has earned the title. Aldi's coffee aisle has become something of a battleground for loyal fans, with one shopper telling FEMAIL: 'I used to spend $6 a day at cafes, now I don't even miss them. Lazzio is genuinely that good.' The budget supermarket chain's Buying Director Daniel Quinlan said the win reflects the supermarket's commitment to delivering quality across the board - from pantry staples to premium products. 'This win is a proud reflection of the consistent quality and value Aldi delivers to customers across their grocery shop, including the perfect beans for their morning brew,' he said. Roasted locally in Melbourne, the popular Lazzio range offers shoppers a 'premium café experience at home' - without the café price tag. 'It's clear Aussies appreciate great coffee at a great price - and we're proud to deliver exactly that.' Starting at just 18c per cup, the beans have become a household staple - and Aldi says they're roasting a staggering 75 tonnes of coffee each week to meet demand. In addition to the top title, the Lazzio range scooped up eight more medals in the Large Chain-Store Espresso and Milk categories, cementing its status as the most awarded supermarket coffee in the country. Several caffeine fans flocked online to share their love for the award-winning blend. 'Honestly, this stuff saved my bank account. It's strong, smooth, and never bitter,' a corporate worker said. 'This coffee got me through three newborns and two lockdowns - it deserves a medal!' a mum wrote. 'People always ask me where I get my beans and are shocked when I say Aldi. They think I'm joking!' one wrote. 'The dark roast is elite. If you know, you know,' an Aussie added. The full Lazzio line-up includes everything from ground coffee to luxe blends and single origin beans from Brazil, Colombia, and soon, Guatemala and Ethiopia, with two new products landing on Wednesday, 23 July. The new Lazzio Luxe Reserve Single Origin Guatemala and Ethiopia 500g varieties have already scooped Gold and Silver in their respective categories - before they've even hit shelves. Here's what's currently available: Lazzio Medium Coffee Beans 1kg - $19.99 Lazzio Dark Coffee Beans 1kg - $17.99 Lazzio Medium Ground Coffee 500g - $10.99 Lazzio Dark Ground Coffee 500g - $10.99 Lazzio Single Origin Brazil Beans 1kg - $24.99 Lazzio Single Origin Colombia Beans 1kg - $24.99 Lazzio Luxe Blend 1kg - $27.99 For coffee lovers on a budget or just looking for their new go-to blend, Aldi's Golden Bean triumph confirms what regulars have known for years: Lazzio really is Australia's best-kept (and best-priced) coffee secret.

Thousands mistakenly told they won up to millions in major lottery gaffe as players forced to abandon splurging dreams

A manual conversion error was to blame for the scandal OUT OF LUCK Thousands mistakenly told they won up to millions in major lottery gaffe as players forced to abandon splurging dreams Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THOUSANDS of people in Norway were mistakenly told they had won life-changing amounts of money in a blunder by the lottery. Some were even told they had become millionaires and began planning new futures - only to find their true prizes were much smaller. The agonising mistake prompted the CEO to step down. It arose from a calculation error when prize amounts, received from Germany in Euros, were converted to the Norwegian Kroner. The company explained: 'It is during this conversion that a manual error has been made in the code that is entered into our game engine. 'The amount has been multiplied by 100, instead of being divided by 100.' The eye-watering prizes were displayed on the website and mobile app on Friday but later removed. No incorrect sums were paid out, Norsk Tipping confirmed. One woman caught up in the farce is in the middle of a renovation project and told the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) she was alerted that she had won £87,000 - but instead received only a fraction of that. Others said they made plans to buy cars and planned holidays - only to have it all snatched away. Lise Naustdal, who thought she had won £138,000, said: "It was a very fun minute." Man wins $800k at casino but is told he won't see a cent – he's being forced to sue for wanting to 'stay below radar' The company was hauled in front of the Ministry of Culture for an emergency meeting on Saturday. Following the scolding, Tonje Sagstuen, its chief since 2023, stepped down. She said: "I am terribly sorry that we have disappointed so many, and I understand that people are angry with us. "Here, things have failed in several places, this is my responsibility." Tonje admitted that "criticism is justified" over the "breach of trust". Norway's Minister of Culture and Equality, Lubna Jaffery, told NRK that "such mistakes should not happen" - especially given Norsk Tipping has the exclusive right to deliver gaming services in the country. She said: "We expect the board to work actively to improve the control routines." Tonje added: 'As a manager, it has been my responsibility to handle the mistakes that have occurred. 'Therefore, it is also incredibly sad to leave Norsk Tipping and all the talented people who work in Hamar. "I will miss everyone I have worked with, but I am confident that all the improvement processes we have initiated are in good hands.'

Sporting refuse to budge on Gyokeres fee – but admit Arsenal target WILL leave ‘unless he has worst agent in the world'

ARSENAL have been told by Sporting Lisbon they will NOT budge on their Viktor Gyokeres valuation in another transfer window hammerblow. And the Portuguese giants' president Frederico Varandas has warned the Gunners: pay up or miss out. 4 Viktor Gyokeres finally loos set for a Prem switch this summer Credit: Getty 4 Benjamin Sesko remains another option for Arsenal and Co Credit: Getty Boss Mikel Arteta has earmarked the striker as a top target to bolster his attack in this window, alongside Red Bull Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko – but both deals are currently in limbo. Gyokeres, 27, has been left furious with Sporting over an alleged breach of a gentleman's agreement that would let him leave for around £60m – lower than his release clause of around £80m – and is now refusing to play for the Portuguese side again. Arteta was hoping to land the Swede for a bargain price, but Varandas has doubled down on only selling the star for a fair market value, citing Arsenal's move for Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi and Manchester United's pursuit of new-boy Matheus Cunha and Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. Varandas has even threatened to keep Gyokeres in Portugal if Arsenal continue to low ball, hoping to receive close to £70m to seal the switch. We do not need to sell him, but we remain sensitive to the dreams of Viktor and any of our athletes. 'After weeks of meetings, we are not asking for the release clause and will be reasonable regarding the price we ask for Viktor. Today, I believe there is a strong probability he will leave. 'We have been watching the market and I saw [Martin] Zubimendi, who is six months younger than Viktor, leave for £51million. "I saw Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both forwards but who, in my opinion, do not have Viktor's market value or quality, being negotiated for around £64m. 4 The Swede amassed stunning stats in the Portuguese top flight BEST ONLINE CASINOS - TOP SITES IN THE UK Inside Arsenal's frustrating striker transfer saga By Jordan Davies ARSENAL'S never-ending hunt for a world-class striker is in turmoil as deals for Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres stall. The Gunners were confident of doing their business quickly this summer after months of preparation by boss Mikel Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta. But inflated asking prices and broken gentlemen's agreements have derailed those plans and left Arsenal frustrated. Sesko believed he would be allowed to leave RB Leipzig for around £60million, while SunSport understands Gyokeres was told £59m would be enough to seal his own exit. But those price-tags have gone up, leaving Arsenal debating whether they represent value for money. While the players' camps are also growing restless, knowing the Gunners can only sign one of them. So what next? Will Arsenal keep waiting in the hope of fees eventually going down? Or turn to other targets, like Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike? Whatever they decide, with pre-season looming and the fixtures already out, Arteta will be desperate for them to move quickly to avoid another nearly season. 'Given the demands we consider fair, I believe Viktor could leave – unless he has the worst agent in the world, which is hard for me to believe, because he is one of the best footballers in the world. 'The player knows, the agent knows, and I can guarantee, with absolute certainty, that Viktor will not leave for £60m.' Liverpool's £100m Barcola bid / Gyokeres forces Man Utd move / Grealish City axe | Transfers Exposed Christian Norgaard to Arsenal LATEST | Transfers Exposed United – who are also monitoring Gyokeres' situation – have already signed Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m this summer and have also seen multiple bids rejected for Mbeumo. Arsenal are set to announce the arrival of midfielder Zubimendi, and are in talks to sign Valencia centre back Christian Mosquera for around £20m. Varandas said: 'If Viktor stays, we will be very, very happy – and it will be a problem for our rivals. 'We are completely prepared to move for our target if Viktor leaves.' Gyokeres is currently on holiday after international duty with Sweden and is due to report back for pre-season in Lisbon on July 7 unless a deal is struck before then. Arsenal are in a similar mess with 22-year-old Sesko, who is angry over Leipzig's hard-ball stance, demanding £70m despite a lower initial gentleman's agreement in January. 4 TRANSFER NEWS LIVE - KEEP UP WITH ALL THE LATEST FROM A BUSY SUMMER WINDOW
