Second Shot at Love – K-drama Episode 4 Recap & Review
Episode 4
Episode 4 of Second Shot at Love begins with Hyeon-ju and Jeong-su finding a drunk Geum-ju. She claims she is a lost cause. Father and sister join her as they don't want her to drink alone.
Ui-joon spots Gwang-ok and they head to the rehab to check on Geum-ju. The trio is missing and they split up to find them. Of course, Gwang-ok finds them first and a dramatic chase ensues. The trio splits up and alone, Geum-ju starts spiralling as she thinks of Ju-yeop. That's when Ui-joon finds her and she cries. It rains and he shelters her with his coat. She says something and he is shocked. Once she sobers, he asks about her statement. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember.
As the Hans head home, a desperate Gwang-ok turns to the Church for a solution. The pastor preaches love and patience but Gwang-ok has a hard time following it as the alcoholic trio keeps testing her limit.
Seon-wook and the nurse end up gossiping about the failed rehab stint. They wonder if Geum-ju is to blame and Ui-joon reprimands them.
Wanting to help, he convinces Geum-ju to take an alcoholism test. The basic score is 20 and she scores a shocking 40. She calls the test faulty and insists that she is an alcohol enthusiast.
Meanwhile, Hyeon-ju and Seon-wook head out for coffee after class. There is a poster for Jang Beom-june's concert. Hyeon-ju laments as the tickets are sold out.
There is a free giveaway but there is another contender. Seon-wook reveals he wants to confess to his crush at the concert. Touched, the owner suggests a race and Seon-wook rushes to his location. The other contender is none other than Young-woong who is trying to get tickets for his wife, Seon-hwa and Hyeon-ju. He messes up and never makes it. Seon-wook reaches and sees the owner is his colleague, Kim who teases him. But he does give him the tickets.
Ui-joon is holding his next lecture on alcoholism. He tells Gwang-ok who forces her family to attend. He talks about blackouts which bores the Hans. Geum-ju thinks it is a dig at her. She wonders if she hit on him and is embarrassed.
Having had enough of Gwang-ok's solutions, the Hans try to put their foot down. Since she is advocating love, they think she will yield. Unfortunately, they cross the line and she starts beating them.
A while later, Young-woong is busy and Geum-ju fills in for him at the garage. She stops a car owner from scamming someone and he roughs her up.
To cheer her up, Ui-joon secretly buys her favourite food from an expensive place. As they eat, she misses alcohol and he admonishes her. She believes his life is all sunshines while hers sucks, which is why she needs alcohol. He looks sad and hopes she doesn't hurt too much. Confused, she wonders if he is talking about her physical injuries.
Elsewhere, Yoong-woong finds out that Seon-wook is the giveaway winner and is surprised that he still likes Hyeon-ju. It cuts to a 2018 flashback where Seon-wook is about to confess but Hyeon-ju announces her marriage. At present, Young-woong disapproves since she is their friend's sister. Annoyed, Seon-wook points out that Seon-hwa is his sister.
Geum-ju keeps wondering about her blackout conversation when she realises it is the day of her canceled wedding. Jeong-su looks sad as he throws his speech which she spots. She cries as it states that he is a pitiful dad. However, he hopes she can find happiness with Ju-yeop.
To make matters worse, she forgets to cancel the party bus meant for the town. Gwang-ok is humiliated and tries to disown Geum-ju. Ui-joon covers for Geum-ju and goes on a drive with her.
The bus is full of alcohol and she imagines how everyone would have had fun at her wedding. She comments that Ui-joon is right and she has been hurting people. She throws him out and heads to the city. She wants to crash Ju-yeop's wedding and hit him. Instead, she drinks.
Back in town, Hyeon-ju feels guilty as she thinks Geum-ju is taking the fall for the both of them. Had she not divorce, she believes no one would have been so hard on Geum-ju. Seon-hwa comforts her while Seon-wook looks shocked. He gives the tickets to Young-woong.
As for Ui-joon, he heads to Ju-yeop's wedding, hoping to find Geum-ju. Instead, he overhears guests gossiping about her. Upset, he parks his car in front of the newly weds' and they get late for their flight.
It rains and it is night by the time Ui-joon finds Geum-ju. He brings her an umbrella and she is glad he is by her side. She finally remembers her words. She is ashamed and wants to quit drinking. She wants his help and he accepts.
In the Second Shot at Love Episode 4 epilogue, a man drinks and watches the video of the blackout lecture. He smirks and comments that he has finally found Ui-joon.
The Episode Review
Second Shot at Love Episode 4 speeds up quite quickly, revealing Seon-wook's crush to Young-woong, the infamous wedding, the Hans being sent to rehab and Geum-ju's confession. We expected some more hijinks before she came to the realisation, but the wedding felt like a good final push for her to quit drinking.
The Hans get their time to shine as well. Gwang-ok has been quite present from the start, but in this chapter, Jeong-su is noticeably hesitant as he tries to restrain himself for the sake of his wife and daughter. Then there is Hyeon-ju, who goes from a tag along with her own backstory with how she feels about the whole fiasco. We have been getting tidbits on how the single mother life is tough on her. And it makes sense that she feels responsible for Geum-ju as the older sister.
Ui-joon gets his personal storyline too and it surprisingly takes a different turn. It involves an alleged murder, hiding from his old workplace and a stranger who is hellbent on finding him. Wonder how that's going to end…

K-pop sensation BTS celebrates return of bandmates after military duties paused music career
Ecstatic K-pop fans have celebrated the news that BTS is one step closer to getting back together after two of its band members finished their duties in the army. RM, 30, and V, 29, began serving in December 2023 - and were discharged from mandatory military service in South Korea on June 10. The seven-member boy band temporarily disbanded in 2022, to allow each of its members to enlist. In South Korea men ages 18 to 28 must serve two years in the nation's armed forces. The country's parliament passed a bill in 2020 allowing the group to defer their service until the age of 30. The duo emerged Tuesday in Chuncheon, South Korea to about 200 fans - many of whom traveled from all over the world for the jubilant moment. Fans, who were stationed on a soccer field, held up signs and photos of the singers, taking pictures and videos as RM and V saluted their fans. RM even serenaded the onlookers with a saxophone solo. Two more of the group's seven members had already completed service. The remaining three wrap up soon. V told fans they'd only have to wait a little longer for the men to re-emerge as a unit. 'Performing is what I want to do the most,' RM told the waiting crowd. Since their hiatus, both RM and V released solo projects. RM came out with 'Indigo' in 2022 and 'Right Place, Wrong Person' in 2024. V's 'Layover' came out in 2023. The BTS 'army'- as they lovingly call their fans - is anxious for the group's reunion. Jimin and Jung Kook are set to be released from their military duties on June 11. Suga, who chose alternative service, will return June 21. Jin, the oldest member, was discharged last year. J-Hope was released in October. Representatives for the group confirmed that they have plans to reunite later in 2025, after all seven members are relinquished from their duties. Fans could not be more excited. Those that couldn't make it all the way to Asia for RM and V's resurgence, chimed in on social media, expressing their enthusiastic excitement at the long-awaited return. 'You thinks it's bad with RM and V wait till tomorrow when JK and Jimin get discharged,' wrote one fan on X. 'WE ARE SO BACK' 'Welcome back! I'm so proud of them for serving their country!' 'THEY ARE FINALLY HOME AND FREE' Some fans even documented signage throughout Seoul that read 'BTS is Back,' in celebration of the group's quickly approaching return. BTS hasn't released music together since 'Map of the Soul: 7' in 2020, which they canceled the tour for due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After five years, fans are desperate to see the group live again. And they hope that now, it's just a matter of months.

BREAKING NEWS Barack and Michelle Obama put on brave face with daughters amid divorce rumors and name changes
Barack and Michelle Obama are celebrating their youngest daughter as she marks her 24th birthday, despite the swirling rumors about their marriage. Michelle Obama shared a photo to her Instagram of the family seemingly on vacation together and she issued a heartfelt message to Sasha. 'Happy birthday to my sweet girl, Sasha! Can't believe how quickly time has flown. I'm so proud of the woman you've become. Love you always!' Michelle wrote. The Obamas have been married for 32 years but have faced ongoing rumors about their marriage status over the last several months. The couple's eldest daughter Malia has also dropped her famous surname and is now going by Malia Ann professionally. Michelle last month dismissed speculation about marital issues and addressed the rumors head on during an episode of the podcast The Diary of a CEO. 'If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,' she said. Michelle has publicly supported Malia's decision, emphasizing that she wants her daughter to 'carve her own path' and 'make her way'. The rumors were only fueled by Michelle's noticeable absence from several high-profile events this year; including January's presidential inauguration and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter. In March, Michelle also skipped their usual courtside seats at the NBA All-Star Game. The couple were spotted out on a date night in NYC two weeks ago, after having also been seen going out to dinner in DC the month before. Social media and the tabloids have all served to amplify claims that the couple may soon be heading for a split. On a recent podcast Michelle revealed how she is in therapy to help her transition to what she thinks is the 'next phase' of her life. During the episode, Michelle acknowledged that marriage is 'hard' for her and the former president but added that 'I wouldn't trade it,' calling President Obama, 'as the young people say... my person.' 'The beauty of my husband and our partnership is that neither one of us was ever really, ever going to quit at it, because that's not who we are. And I know that about him. He knows that about me.' Michelle has been open about her marriage struggles throughout the years and particularly on her new podcast, IMO (In my Opinion), which she hosts with her brother Craig Robinson.

Millie Bobby Brown and husband Jake Bongiovi introduce 'baby' Florence as fans go wild
Millie Bobby Brown and her husband Jake Bongiovi surprised fans with the arrival of an adorable new member of their family. The Stranger Things actress, 21, took to Instagram on Monday to share a sweet photo of the couple's newest arrival, nestled inside a barn on their Georgia farm. Lying on a bed of straw was an adorable baby donkey, which the Enola Holmes star revealed is named Florence June Bongiovi—named after her great-grandmother, Florence—and born on June 9, 2025. Brown didn't share any additional details about the sweet baby animal, but she's previously opened up about the many animals she and Bongiovi care for on their farm, including a pregnant donkey. With Florence's arrival, the couple now has three donkeys, bringing their total number of pets to a staggering 63. Millie revealed back in March that a new arrival was on the way, telling BBC Radio 1: 'My donkey is pregnant. Betsy and Bernard got together, had a great night out, and now she's preggers.' The new family member reveal comes shortly after Brown opened up about starting a family with husband Jake, 22, and shared that he already understands 'how important' it is to her. The couple tied the knot in May 2024 and have already discussed having children, expressing hopes of raising a big family together. During a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast—hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett—the Stranger Things star said that while she knows she's 'really young,' she's looking forward to becoming a mom. During a recent appearance on the Smartless podcast, which is hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, the Stranger Things actress said that although she knows she is 'really young,' she is looking forward to motherhood. 'My mom actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. And you know, it's been my thing since before I met Jake,' she explained. 'Since I was a baby, I told my mom, like, baby dolls. I wanted to be a mom just like the way my mom was to me. And my nan, my grandmother is, she was a huge part of my life. 'And so, yeah, I mean, Jake knows how important it is to me and, of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family for me personally,' Millie continued. With Florence's arrival, the couple now has three donkeys, bringing their total number of pets to a staggering 63 'It's a huge thing. Jake was like, we cannot do that until we get married. So that was his thing.' Millie, who recently clapped back at trolls over comments about her appearance, went on to say: 'And my thing was, I really want a family. I really want a big family. 'I'm one of four. He's one of four. So, it is definitely in our future, but, for me, I don't see having your own child, you know, as really any different as in adopting.' She added: 'My home is full of love for anyone and anything, and so that is what we kind of stand by, Jake and I, is our energy in the house is the door is always open, and we want everyone to feel really comfortable.' Millie's comments come just weeks after she opened up to Vanity Fair in February about her relationship with Jake and how they're 'pretty united' when it comes to the big things in life. 'We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we're looking for, the kind of careers we want,' she told the publication. 'It's such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.' Millie and Jake—whose father is musician Jon Bon Jovi—began dating in 2021 and announced their engagement in April 2023. They tied the knot in May 2024 in a lavish ceremony at Villa Cetinale in Tuscany, Italy. In October, the couple gave fans a glimpse of their special day by sharing intimate photos on social media. The snaps showed Millie and Jake exchanging vows beneath a stunning floral arch, with the Stranger Things star wearing a custom Galia Lahav gown. 'Forever and always, your wife,' the Florence by Mills founder captioned her post, while Bongiovi shared his own photos with the words: 'Forever and always, your husband.'
