Jelena Dokic cuddles up to mystery man at Melbourne Airport after revealing she feared 'being alone forever' following the breakdown of her 19-year relationship

Daily Mail20-05-2025

Former Australian tennis champ Jelena Dokic has been spotted with a mystery man.
While no romantic link has been confirmed between the pair, the elegant gent she met at Melbourne airport earlier this month certainly managed to put a smile on Jelena's face as the pair cuddled up together.
The 42-year-old sports commentator was seen exiting her flight and grinning broadly as she accepted a warm embrace from the bearded man as she entered the terminal.
Jelena, who took up an animated conversation with her companion as she stepped into the terminal, had dressed for comfort for her flight.
She wore a knitted white zip-up hoodie she matched with a grey T-shirt, blue pants split at the cuffs and runners.
Tying her fair hair up, the tennis legend carried her mobile device in one hand as she walked to her transport and completed her look with a pair of ear studs.
Wearing a formal dark suit, business shirt and matching striped tie, and black shoes, Jelena's companion was later seen carrying the athlete's luggage from the airport.
He completed his dashing look with wire-rimmed spectacles and appeared to be using a product in his slicked-back black hair which he parted at the side.
According to Woman's Day, who shared video of the pair on Tuesday, the man drove Jelena from the airport.
Late last year, Jelena revealed that she has been 'closed off' to finding love ever since she split from her long-time Brazilian boyfriend Tin Bikic.
The couple were together for almost 19 years before announcing they had ended their relationship in 2021.
Despite saying that her walls have been up ever since, Jelena took to Instagram to make the heartbreaking admission that she's 'scared of being alone' for the rest of her life.
'Love. It's been a challenging personal period. We don't talk about this enough but relationship breakdowns are so tough,' she said alongside a selfie.
'And if you have been the one left hurt or abandoned then let's be honest, it's just life shattering. And as you get older, it only gets tougher with more scars, pain and hurt.
'My 19-year relationship ended 4 years ago [sic] and while we will always care for each other especially because we were together since we were 20, that chapter is over.'
Jelena went on to say that she was 'built' to love one person 'unconditionally and so fully that it gets me in trouble'.
'It turns into heartbreak and pain,' she bemoaned. 'I put up walls 4 years ago and I said they are never coming down.
'But as life likes to show us, not everything we plan or think will happen actually does. So, of course, someone brought those walls down and I got hurt. Badly.
'So, I guess the question is: Do we keep our walls down and hope love comes along? Or? Do we never give it a chance again and don't allow the walls to come down?
'There are people that will have different answers. I have now been alone and closed off for 4 years and I still don't know what the answer is.'
The Australian tennis commentator said she now has 'a lot of abandonment issues' from her past, which make her 'feel like I will be alone forever'.
Jelena was referring to the horrendous abuse she suffered at the hands of her father and tennis coach Damir Dokic.
'Am I the only one scared of being alone for the rest of my life?' the media personality candidly asked her fans.
'Bringing walls down has also brought some feelings and triggers I never had before and I don't know how to react or what to do,' Jelena continued in the lengthy missive.
'Bottom line is it's tough and what do we do? Close ourselves off forever or get hurt and feel pain in order to one day maybe feel that unbelievable and crazy love again?''
Thankfully, Jelena ended her morose caption on a hopeful note, saying that she will 'not give up' on her search for love.
'I will never give up and one day those walls will come down again and hopefully the wait, pain, hurt and disappointment will be worth it and I will find that amazing love,' she said.
Jelena was left 'shattered' in the aftermath of her split from her long-time boyfriend Tin Bikic in 2021, revealing last year just how heartbroken she was.
She took to Instagram in August last year to mark the anniversary of their break up with some reflective words.
'Break ups of any kind are tough. They are heartbreaking, crushing, shattering and can change you forever,' she wrote.
Wearing a formal dark suit, business shirt and matching striped tie, and black shoes, Jelena's companion was later seen carrying the athlete's luggage from the airport
'It's important not to become angry and bitter and instead know those scars and wounds will heal one day and you will become a wiser, better and stronger person.
'My breakup left me crushed and changed me to my core. While I was shattered and it changed me forever, I handled it with kindness, understanding, grace and dignity.
'No screaming, anger or bitterness. And for that I am so proud of myself. Stay kind and positive.'
Jelena confirmed the news she and her Brazilian-born boyfriend had parted in a heartbreaking Instagram post back in January 2022.
Alongside a photo of the pair together with a rip graphic down the middle, she wrote: 'After almost 19 years together, Tin and I have decided to go our separate ways.
'Sometimes these things happen, people grow apart and it's for the best.'
At the time, Jelena admitted she was struggling emotionally and mentally with the split.
'Love. It's been a challenging personal period. We don't talk about this enough but relationship breakdowns are so tough,' she said
'I would be lying if I said I was doing well but I will give it my absolute all to heal and recover and process this pain and trauma,' she wrote.
She then thanked her fans, friends and loved ones for their support and said she hopes to soon 'be back hopefully stronger than ever and in a much better place'.
The former world No. 4 was born in what was once Yugoslavia and her family moved to Australia when she was 11 years old.
Her tennis career peaked when she made the Wimbledon quarter finals in 1999 and semi finals in 2000, followed by the 2002 French Open quarter finals.

Love Island star ‘calls police' after influencer he met on dating site accuses him of cheating with ‘500 women'

LOVE Island star Tak Chipangura has told fans he has 'called the police' after a single date with an influencer turned sour. Tak, who appeared on the Australian series of Love Island, was accused by the woman of cheating with "500 women" following their night together. 4 4 Tak is believed to have met the female influencer on dating site Hinge but now claims to have got "the proper authorities" involved. The rapper and former security guard has accused the woman of "harassment, bullying, public safety and defamation of character". She has even been accused of telling Tak she "wished he died" after he had a minor prang in his car. In a lengthly statement on Instagram, Tak has broken his silence on the situation which he says occurred after he spent one night with her. He told his fans: "First I would love to say thank you for the love and support I've received, really appreciate the ones who reached out to check in on me and make sure I'm doing okay. "I'm not going to feed into this behaviour, the people who know me know that I'm not capable of such things. "All of this will be dealt with accordingly and by the proper authorities as she has made some pretty serious and false allegations. "Harassment, bullying, public safety and defamation of character are serious offences and should not be taken lightly. "And to all the people that enable this behaviour making fake accounts to give her false information and formulate scenarios that never occurred, it's worth taking a long look in the mirror before contributing to the defamation of someone's character." Tak appeared in the 2022 series of Love Island Australia. Love Island UK left looking tame as Aussie contestants boast about 'pounding' on the show Before entering the villa, he spoke proudly of his "strong morals". He lasted 22 days on the show. Now working as a rapper and model, Tak is believed to have hooked up with the female influencer on Hinge for a date last week. The woman later posted a video on social media claiming he had been speaking to other women behind her back. "I am crashing out because a man has been deceiving me and about 500 other women," she ranted. The influencer, who is also Australian, also made a string of other allegations before they were delated. Fans have been left shocked by the situation and have given their opinions on Reddit. One said: "This is all because he met her 3 days ago. She's already obsessed with him when he only spoke to her as a general and didn't promise her kids, marriage etc. crazy." Another added: "I feel like this level of crashout would be warranted to some extent if they were in a committed relationship, but based on what he said it sounds like she's the only person he's met off hinge." And a third said: "Idgaf [I don't give a f***] about hook ups btw but agree he's allowed to say he's not keen to continue things with her without her losing her mind like this. Hopefully the police help him." 4

EXCLUSIVE The subtle red flags that 'disturbed' Hugh Jackman's ex... now she knows the truth was hiding in plain sight

Hugh Jackman 's new lover Sutton Foster attempted to befriend his wife in the run up to their shock divorce by going on double dates with the couple. Deborra-Lee Furness suspected that Foster was having an emotional affair with her husband and was left 'disturbed' by her attempts to befriend her, the Daily Mail can reveal. But the Australian actress is taking comfort that the pair's actions, will 'all come back around to them', according to an insider. Furness, 69, and Jackman, 56, announced their split in a statement in September 2023, telling fans that they were 'shifting' and as a result had decided to 'separate to pursue our individual growth'. Rumors soon followed of a romance between Jackman and Foster, with the Music Man co-stars later confirming they were an item in January, with what fans deemed a staged picture of them leaving a Los Angeles restaurant hand-in-hand. Furness is said to be livid at Foster for trying to get close to her, and believes she should take accountability for the break down of her marriage to the Wolverine star, with whom she has adopted children Oscar, 25, and daughter Ava, 19. 'The fact that Sutton used to go on double dates and tried so hard to befriend Deb is extremely disturbing to her,' an insider exclusively told the Daily Mail. 'She will never have anything to do with Sutton. 'Deb is friends with Sutton's ex and they both share a deep sense of betrayal.' Foster was married to screenwriter Ted Griffin from 2014 until 2024. They are parents to adopted daughter Emily, seven. Furness 'cannot forgive' Foster, who starred in Younger and Bunheads, because she feels she 'played a role in the breakdown of her marriage' and believes the Broadway star 'should take accountability for this.' 'Deb released her statement and is now focusing on moving forward with her life,' our insider said. 'She has done the work that she needs to not allow this to hold her back from living or falling in love again. Deb knows that one day this will all come back around to the both of them.' Furness previously opened up about her feelings of 'betrayal' in a blistering statement to Daily Mail, which read: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.' Jackman has yet to release his own statement on the split, but a source previously told Daily Mail he had been left 'extremely disappointed' by the her words, as he believed they had an 'understanding' they would not publicly trash one another. Foster has also remained silent, and desperately avoided questions about her love life as she flew solo at the annual Drama Desk Awards in New York on Sunday night. But that didn't stop actor Michael Urie, who played Foster's on-stage lover in Broadway production Once Upon a Mattress, from lifting the lid on the new relationship. 'I mean, she's my colleague and my friend, and I love her and I know that she's a really great person and she surrounds herself with really good people, like, all the time,' 44-year-old Urie said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail. Directly addressing Foster's romance with Jackman, he added: 'I believe in her and I believe that she's happy.' But their happy union could be tested as rumors abound that Furness is preparing to drop a tell-all book about her relationship with Jackman. Last week the Daily Mail revealed the actress 'has been flooded with very tempting book offers' and offered 'huge amounts' to blow the lid off their marriage and spill intimate details about their time together, including weathering persistent rumors about his sexuality. The Daily Mail has approached Furness, Jackman and Sutton's representatives for comment.
