Usher announces first Australian headline tour in more than a decade
The multi-platinum artist, 46, is bringing the globetrotting tour for eight shows - four at Melbourne 's Rod Laver Arena, and four at Qudos Bank Arena In Sydney.
It will be more than a decade since Usher headlined an Australian run, with his last visit back in 2011 on his OMG tour.
The singer was last in the country back in 2018, performing alongside the likes of Salt-N-Pepa, T-Pain and Naughty By Nature for the RNB Fridays Live tour.
The tour, which kicked off in the US back in August last year, has since jetted to Europe and the UK.
Usher took to Instagram to make the auspicious announcement, sharing a compilation video of some of the best tour moments.
Fans were quick to issue their excitement over the announcement with the likes of, 'I'm so excited, I'm headed to Australia.'
Others, who had already witnessed the tour, first-hand admitted how excited they were for Australian fans.
'They in for a treat,' one fan wrote. 'A time was HAD at his London show I had an amazing time!'
It seems the critics agree, too with culture bible Billboard praising the show.
'Much of the two-hour show felt less like a concert and more of a celebration of the man whose music has soundtracked lives, redefined a genre, and shifted the pop-culture landscape over the last 30 years,' they wrote.
The show promises to run the gamut of Usher's 30 year career featuring fan favourites such as My Boo, U Got It Bad, and Love In The Club.
The set is also sure to include tracks from Usher's ninth studio album, Coming Home, which dropped in 2022.

With the tour currently in full swing fans can expect a very well oiled machine by the time it hits Australian soil.
Also, Usher has been on top of his performing game of late, with a bravura turn at the Met Gala in New York this week.
The superstar also honed his act in a 100-show Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and Park MGM between 201 and 2023.
He also delivered a critically lauded Super Bowl performance in 2024, prior to Kendrick Lamar, who also recently announced a Down Under visit.
The Past Present Future tour got off to quite the rocky start however, with Usher having to postpone the commencement of the US leg due to injury.
The hitmaker ended up missing a trio of concerts after he hurt his neck preparing for the shows.
Usher also recently shared his secret for keeping fit at 45.
The Yeah! hitmaker is well-known for his ripped physique and six pack - and shared that his fans motivate him to stay in optimal shape.
'The consistency that comes with being a performer who has to dance and sing and still have a six pack at 45 years old? Yeah, there's a little bit of mindfulness there,' he told Us Weekly.
'But thank God that I have fans that I go work hard for every night.'
Usher will play Rod Laver Arena on November 19, 20, 22 and 23, before heading north to Sydney's Qudos bank Arena on December 1, 2 4 and 5.
Tickets for all dates are on sale go on sale Friday May 16.

Fears grow for homeless Yahoo Serious, 72, as he VANISHES with his dog after he was evicted for squatting - with the only clue to his fate being the very bizarre items he's left behind in his car full of junk
Yahoo Serious has not been seen since he was finally evicted last week from a multi-million-dollar Palm Beach home where he had been illegally squatting. The iconic Australian Hollywood star was forced to flee with his Jack Russell terrier Jingle after police were called to help his landlord kick him out last Tuesday. Daily Mail can now reveal he's left an array of bizarre items behind in his ageing soft-top car which lies abandoned outside the home and contains all his worldly goods. On Monday, his broken-down BMW, which is unable to be started, was still parked at the property on Barrenjoey Road on Sydney 's northern beaches. New pictures revealed he had an oddball collection of items stashed inside the car, including a length of rope, a cooking pot, a couch pillow, Ugg boots, and an Esky. A Kennards Hire box was labelled 'For Jingle Dog', and apparently contained the pet's worm and tick tablets, the dog's papers, and 'wandering Jew allergy cream'. Wandering Jew is another name for the Spiderwort plant, which is commonly found in Sydney and can cause canine dermatitis. Serious, 72, and Jingle have not been seen since they were kicked out by landlord Margie Charlton, who holds power of attorney for the property's owner, Charles Phillip Porter. Mr Porter, who is in his 90s and suffers from dementia, is in a nursing home. Ms Charlton had allowed Serious to live in the basement when she found him homeless at Palm Beach in recent years, under the proviso that when her lifelong family friend Mr Porter went into a care facility, she would need to sell the property to pay for his fees. But when that time came, Serious refused to leave, and moved from the basement into the main part of the house, barricading himself in. Serious had been ordered by the courts to vacate the property by August 4, but did not leave until August 5 after Margie confronted him. Even then, Serious didn't go quietly. 'He called the police and said I was being violent,' Ms Charlton told the Daily Mail. 'The police came and they said, "No, mate, you're out. You gotta leave."' Speaking to the Daily Mail last week, she confirmed that he had finally left. The Aussie actor - who was briefly a huge Hollywood comedy star in the 1980s and early 1990s - allegedly left a trail of destruction in his wake. 'He has left the house in a filthy state,' Ms Charlton said. 'There is rotting food, it's disgusting.' After Serious finally left the property, Ms Charlton had to call in an army of friends for the clean-up operation and removed 'six truckloads of stuff', she said. But she is relieved the ordeal is finally over after lengthy legal battles and tense confrontations with the star over the home. In July, she told Daily Mail that she needed to sell the property to help pay for Mr Porter's nursing home fees, which were $70,000 and rising. 'Now, we can clean it up and get it up for sale,' she said last Wednesday. 'It should have gone on the market in June last year.' Ms Charlton confronted Serious last week at the home in front of TV cameras with a journalist from A Current Affair, but he still refused to leave. 'You've been living in this property while Margie's been trying to sell it to pay for Phillip's aged care,' reporter Pippa Bradshaw told the Young Einstein star. 'He's got dementia, he can sell the property,' Serious replied. When told that Ms Charlton had been unable to sell the property while Serious was occupying it, he insisted he was not squatting but was 'sick.' 'I'm not squatting – [I'm] surviving,' Serious said. 'Look at the weather out there – it's really, really dangerous.' It's not known where Serious is now, but he has long-standing ties to the Palm Beach area and used to share a home in the suburb with his former wife, Lulu. Without his vehicle, there are grave fears for where he and Jingle are taking shelter. Sydney has been battered by rainstorms since his departure from Mr Porter's home, with more wet, cold weather predicted this week. In comments under Daily Mail's coverage, many have slammed Serious' behaviour - but many feel sorry for his dog. Speaking to the Daily Mail in July, Serious denied that he was squatting at the property, despite a tribunal hearing having given him a deadline to vacate. 'You've got it all wrong,' he insisted, as he took his BMW to a local mechanic after experiencing radiator problems. In March, the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal heard Serious used to live in the granny flat beneath the dilapidated property, which stands among the mansions overlooking picturesque Pittwater. The tribunal was told the owner had allowed Serious to move into the granny flat, as the former screen star had previously been living rough in his ageing BMW sedan, but he moved into the main house when Mr Porter was put into care. On April 24, the tribunal initially gave Serious six weeks to move out, Ms Charlton told Daily Mail. 'But his lawyer said he needed 12 weeks because he's a sick man with lymphoma,' she said. Serious – and his wild haircut at the time – became suddenly famous when he starred in 1988's Young Einstein movie and later, Reckless Kelly in 1993.

A Channel Nine boss has taken personal leave after coming under fire for her 'inappropriate' social media posts at the Logie Awards last weekend. A Current Affair's executive producer Amy McCarthy left many scratching their heads after posting several questionable comments to Facebook at the annual event. On Monday, staff at ACA were informed that McCarthy had made the decision to take time off work, The Australian reported. In one questionable post, McCarthy told her followers she had just arrived at the Logie Awards and 'could get drunk now'. 'I can get drunk now. You thought you'd been spammed before!! Standby!' she said. McCarthy later added: 'Luckily my phone died before any evidence could be recorded.' On Monday, staff at the news program were informed that McCarthy has made the decision to take time off work after firing off an 'inappropriate' X-rated message about Jimmy Barnes She also uploaded an image of Jimmy Barnes performing at the awards ceremony along with a suggestive comment, writing: 'deserves a spot on the grid! #wouldstilldohim'. One Channel Nine insider told The Australian, McCarthy's comments have sparked outrage and are 'out of step with Nine's drawn-out cultural review'. 'Imagine if a male news boss had made comments like that about a female singer like Delta Goodrem — it's totally inappropriate,' they said. It comes just months after Channel Nine reportedly cracked down on staffers after dropping the axe on Today presenter Alex Cullen. Cullen, 44, lost his job at the station in January after accepting $50,000 from Block bidder Adrian 'Mr Lambo' Portelli. The network followed the shocking news with a reminder to all employees about their 'professional obligations'. Nine's director of news and current affairs, Fiona Dear, sent the message via email to all staff. In the note to staff, which was sighted by Daily Mail Australia, the network boss wanted to remind 'broadcast journalists and on-air talent' that their conduct was 'vital' to maintaining trust with the viewing public. 'Accordingly, we acknowledge that commercial arrangements, sponsorships and endorsements exist at most media companies, including Nine,' Dear said in the email. 'In line with our professional obligations, as well as Nine's legal and regulatory obligations, these arrangements are permitted in certain circumstances, provided the appropriate disclosure occurs and that they are conducted in accordance with Nine's policies and procedures.' Dear also wrote that all staffers were obliged to conduct themselves along professional and ethical guidelines as set out by the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice, and Nine's Social Media Guidelines and Gift Policy. 'All Nine Group employees are required to adhere to these policies and remain up to date with any developments,' she wrote. Dear also added: 'And of course, the MEAA Journalist Code of Ethics, which applies to journalist members of the MEAA, also serves as a useful reminder of the professional standards for which journalists strive.'
