Iran expects India and other like-minded nations to condemn Israeli 'military aggression' against it as such actions are a 'breach' of international law, a senior Iranian diplomat said on Friday.
Mohammad Javad Hosseini, the deputy chief of mission at the Iranian embassy, also hoped that Pakistan would not do anything that will harm Iran's interests.
His response on Pakistan came when asked at a media briefing about Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir's meeting with US President Donald Trump in the White House on Wednesday.

There is speculation that Washington was looking at using Pakistani military bases in case it decides to launch attacks on Tehran.
Hosseini also said that India is a leader of the Global South and Iran expects New Delhi to condemn the Israeli actions of 'breaching' international law by attacking a sovereign country.
'We believe every country including India should condemn it (Israeli military actions), not because of their relations with Iran but because these actions are in breach of global norms,' he said.
Israel and Iran have fired hundreds of missiles and drones at each other's cities as well as military facilities since the hostilities began over a week ago.
Asked if Iran was considering shutting the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian diplomat did not give a direct reply and said several options are on the table.
Nearly 30 per cent of the world's daily oil consumption passes through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the International Energy Agency, even a brief disruption of passage through the strait will have a significant impact on oil markets.
'We have many things on the table, but it doesn't mean that we are going to do it now. It depends on the situation and how the other players want to go,' Hosseini said.

'If they want to solve the problem, definitely some of these things will be put aside,' he added.
Asked about possible impact of the hostilities with Israel on Iran's Chabahar port, the Iranian diplomat only said that any further escalation of tensions could have far-reaching implications for the flow of energy and other commodities.
'It is not just a matter of Chabahar, it's a matter of the whole region. If it escalates, it will definitely affect many things, definitely the flow of oil, shipments and commodities which are going through these channels will be affected,' Hosseini said.
'Because of this, those countries who will be affected, it is better for them to think and to start stopping this aggression, to avoid any kind of negative effects on the economy of the region, which will definitely spread out to the whole world,' he said.

India to evacuate citizens of Nepal, Sri Lanka from war-hit Iran
The Indian Embassy in Iran has said that the embassy will make efforts to evacuate citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka. The embassy noted that the efforts will be made at the request of the Governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka. Indian students reach an airport to board a flight from Armenia to New Delhi, under Operation Sindhu facilitated by the Government of India in view of the Israel-Iran conflict. (Randhir Jaiswal - X) "On request of the Governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka, the Indian Embassy's evacuation efforts in Iran will also cover Citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka," the Indian Embassy in Iran posted on X. The Indian government has launched Operation Sindhu to evacuate Indian nationals from Iran, given the deteriorating situation as a result of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Saturday that, so far, 517 Indian nationals have returned to India from Iran under Operation Sindhu. Jaiswal stated that a special flight from Turkmenistan's Ashgabat carrying Indians from Iran arrived in New Delhi on June 21. In a post on X, Jaiswal stated, "Operation Sindhu continues. A special evacuation flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, landed in New Delhi at 0300 hrs on 21st June, bringing Indians from Iran home. With this, so far 517 Indian nationals from Iran have returned home under Operation Sindhu." The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its ninth day on Saturday. The conflict started after Israel, on June 13, launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, dubbed "Operation Rising Lion". In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale drone and missile operation, 'Operation True Promise 3', targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centres. It is pertinent to note here that it is not the first time that the Indian government has launched an operation to evacuate citizens from another country. Earlier in 2023, India launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate its citizens during violent military clashes in Sudan. India had launched Operation Ajay to evacuate Indian nationals from Israel during the Israel-Hamas conflict in 2023. Operation Ganga was launched by the Indian government in 2022 to evacuate Indian nationals when war erupted between Russia and Ukraine. Earlier in 2011, India launched Operation Safe Homecoming to evacuate Indian nationals during the civil war in the Arab Spring in Libya.

Middle East tensions: Israel in ‘constant contact' with India; says Israeli envoy on civilian evacuation
NEW DELHI: As tensions continue to rise between Israel and Iran, Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar has said that his country remains in 'constant contact' with ministry of external affairs (MEA) regarding the safety and evacuation of Indian nationals from Israel. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In an interview with PTI Videos on Friday, Ambassador Azar said, 'We are in constant contact with the MEA on all subjects that have to do with the evacuation of civilians. We've been cooperating since the beginning of the war, and this cooperation continues.' He added, 'Whatever message we get from the Indian government, we take it very seriously in order to make sure that all Indian citizens are safe.' The comments follow India's decision to evacuate its citizens from Israel on Thursday after an Iranian missile struck a hospital in the Beersheba region. The MEA issued a statement saying that Indian nationals wishing to leave would be assisted through land routes and then flown back to India. The Indian Embassy in Israel has been issuing regular advisories urging nationals to take precautions. On Wednesday, India launched 'Operation Sindhu' to evacuate its citizens from Iran amid the worsening security situation in the region. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed on Saturday that a total of 517 Indian nationals had been brought back from Iran under Operation Sindhu so far. A special flight from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, landed in New Delhi early on June 21 carrying evacuees. The conflict, now in its ninth day, began on June 13 with Israel's 'Operation Rising Lion,' a large-scale offensive targeting Iran's nuclear and military infrastructure. Iran responded with 'Operation True Promise 3,' striking Israeli energy sites. Ambassador Azar had earlier told reporters that Israel would continue to act to 'degrade' Iran's missile and nuclear capabilities, though he hoped for a diplomatic resolution. With the situation remaining volatile, India's evacuation efforts from both Israel and Iran are expected to continue in coordination with authorities in both countries.
